Critical Evaluation
• This assignment seemed to take ages, as I was si-multaneously learning about blogging while trying to get to grips with the design process, under-standing a brief and developing creative ideas.
• Having visited exhibitions that included abstract work, I was keen to develop some abstraction in my own work and I was please I moved away from my first designs to something more abstract.
• I was please at the way I used the software pack-age, CS2. I had to simultaneousely work using Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, which really challenged my technical skills.
• At the end of this assignment, I really needed to sort out my filing system and I felt I’d been very disorganised in the way I worked. It made me re-alise the need to by systematic in the way I name and store files for my work.
Did the work meet the brief?
I think the greeting cards work for a certin type of person - me! As an adult giving a skating card to one of my adult friends they’d be perfect, but I’m not sure they’d work for children as they too abstract and probably a bit dull. I think for younger skaters - most of whom are girls - they’d probably love a handmade card with lots and lots of sparkly bits on it.
