∗ Aviation organizations are replacing outdated systems to control maintenance operations.
∗ Maintenance areas are implementing support information processing technology as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
∗ CMMS systems include algorithms automating the workflow.
∗ Rumors complicate the normal challenges during implementation. Change management should solve issues like problems with motivation and performance.
∗ Is there an age influence? First, an assessment is needed to evaluate opinions and factors influencing the opinions?
Introduction
![Page 4: Assessment of perceptions related to age influence in cmms work](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022070319/55811258d8b42a05558b5260/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
∗ Assess the perception of people about age
influence on attitudes and performance of
maintenance employees in airline
organizations.
Objective
![Page 5: Assessment of perceptions related to age influence in cmms work](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022070319/55811258d8b42a05558b5260/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
∗ A survey is elaborated to assess two aspects: attitudes and performance. ∗ Attitudes: confidence and excitement
∗ Performance, quantity of errors and completion time
∗ Respondents randomly selecting from different work areas within a typical maintenance organization (Line Maintenance, Quality Control, Materials, Engineering, Planning, etc.).
∗ Majority of respondents belong to the same company but some of the respondents work in the headquarters of the firm in a different country.
Methodology

∗ Respondents believe young people is more motivated, interested, do less errors and finish sooner tasks in CMMS.
∗ They are consistent answering the related questions respect senior employees.
∗ Respondents are more neutral respect skills and motivation of seniors
∗ Previous experience is key according to respondents.
![Page 15: Assessment of perceptions related to age influence in cmms work](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022070319/55811258d8b42a05558b5260/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
∗ These conclusions only apply to the population observed.
∗ 1. Age of the respondent is not a factor when agreeing or disagreeing with the statements.
∗ 2. Respondents were consistent with each pair of related questions. This conclusion is supported with the U-tests run.
∗ 3. There was not statistical evidence that work area is a factor influencing the level of agreement or disagreement. Again U-tests elaborated support this conclusion.
∗ 4. People were more biased to agree with responses favoring superior motivation and performance of young users of CMMS.
∗ 5. Respondents were neutral on attitudes respect skills and motivation of senior employees.
∗ 6. Previous experience using computers is an important factor, but more research is required to properly assess the impact or validity of such perception.
Conclusions
