1. Login

Login page

• Input the website address (http://www.bca.hkeaa.edu.hk) of the “Basic Competency

Assessments” in the URL box of the browser (Picture A).

• Input the user name (e.g. ALA_PXXX / ALA_SXXX) and password in the ID and password boxes respectively.

• Click the “Login” button to go to the course application endorsement main page.

2. Course Application Endorsement

Course Application Endorsement

• After logging in to the system, click “Assessment Literacy” in the left menu and then select “Course Application Endorsement” in the sub-menu.

• Users can input “Course Code” or “Candidate name” to search applications for a particular course or applicant. Application list will show all the applications of your school if no information was entered in course code and candidate name.

• Users may endorse or reject each application.

• The application records concerned will be shown in the application list after clicking the “Search” button.

• Users can endorse all the applications in the list by clicking “Endorse All” in the “Endorsement Status” column.

• Users can reject all the applications in the list by clicking “Reject All”in the “Endorsement Status” column.

• Information page of a course will pop-up when clicking the course name.

• After updating the endorsement status of applications, click “Submit” button to save the update.

• Users can print the Application List by clicking “Print” button.

• Click “Back” button to go back to the previous page.

3. Personal Profile

Personal Profile Maintenance

• After logging in to the system, click “Personal Profile” in the left menu and then select “Update Personal Profile” in the sub-menu.

• Fill in the updated information for Name (English), Name (Chinese) and Email.

• Click “Submit” button to update the changes.

• Click “Cancel” button to leave the page.

If endorsement action has not been completed before

the deadline, a reminder will be sent to the email

account provided.

Change Password

• After logging in to the system, click “Personal Profile” in the left menu and then select “Change Password” in the sub-menu.

• Enter the old password, new password and retype new password in the relevant text fields.

• Click “Save” to save the new password.

• Click “Logout” to log out the system.

4. Forgot password

Forgot password

• Users can use the forgot password function to reset the password in the webpage of “Basic Competency Assessments” (Picture A).

• Users need to input user name, registered email address, and image code generated by the system to reset the password (Picture B).

• New password will be sent to the email address registered in the personal profile after pressing the “Submit” button.

• Remember to use the new password when first logging in to the system.

Reset password

• SA School Administrator account can also reset password of the endorsement account.

• School Administrator can login in to the system and go to school administration page (Picture A).

• Click the “User Details” (Picture A), and user details page will be shown (Picture B).

• Click reset password to change the password of the selected account.
