Goal 1-1: Enhance students’ critical thinking skills through “teaching for critical thinking” classroom activities across the curriculum.
Administer MAPP (institution-wide direct measure, last administered in 2007) COMPLETED: Fall 2011, Spring 2012, Lower and Upper division
Hold a 2nd ARC scoring workshop in spring semester (All College Day ‘11) COMPLETED: Spring 2012
Consider critical thinking items on the SSI COMPLETED: Aligned 2 items to Synthesis element; this may change

Goal 2-1: Provide professional development opportunities to assist faculty in developing class activities to support teaching for critical thinking.
Advanced CT seminars by discipline, as part of the fall CT Institute. COMPLETED: Fall 2011
In 2011-12, QEP office will work with CETL to get in touch with new faculty about CT

Goal 2-2: Develop in-house critical thinking expertise (i.e., faculty champions) using the “train-the-trainer” approach.
C&I 3-yr course review “teaching for critical thinking” checklist. TABLED: due to forthcoming changes with the course review process, this
has yet to be developed INSTITUTION-WIDE and will be addressed in the “what have we learned?” section of the impact report, to incorporate what has been done with online courses only.
