CAUTION: The lamp fixture is designed to be mounted so that the motion detector controls face towards the ground. If the lamp fixture is mounted in any other position, it may be possible for water to enter the unit and cause damage to the unit and cause possible electric shock. Make sure the controls are facing towards the ground!

IMPORTANT: After mounting the fixture, it will be necessary to apply silicone sealant caulking compound completely around the perimeter of the fixture where the back of the cover plate meets the mounting surface. Silicone caulking prevents water from entering the junction box. Your installation is now complete. Turn on power at the circuit breaker and flip the wall switch to the ON position. The wall switch must remain in the ON position for the motion detector to operate properly.

MANUAL OVERRIDE: You can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch by flipping the wall switch off for 1 to 3 seconds and then back on. The light will stay on until you flip the switch off and on again. If you leave the light on all night, the light will automatically turn off at dawn and return to SECURITY mode. Flip the light switch off and on to toggle twice in 3 seconds, it will change between AUTO and MANUAL MODE with the light staying on for 5 hours. The MANUAL OVERRIDE feature only works at night or when in TEST mode.

Make sure power is turned on at circuit breaker and wall switch is in the ON position. Wall switch must remain in the ON position for the motion detector to work properly. There are three control knobs on the bottom Of the light fixture to control the motion detector. The control knobs are: 1. MODE SELECT: Security Mode/Dusk to Dawn Mode 2. TIME/TEST 3. SENSITIVITY

1. MODE SELECT: SECURITY/DUSK to DAWN SECURITY: Your lighting fixture is energy-saving when used in SECURITY mode. In this mode the light will come on at night only when motion is detected. The light will stay on as long as motion continues and stay on for a brief ON time after all motion has stopped. The ON time is set with the TIME/TEST knob discussed below. To put the fixture into the SECURITY mode, turn the MODE SELECT knob fully counterclockwise so that the small pointer is aimed toward the SECURITY setting. DUSK to DAWN: To put the lamp fixture into the DUSK to DAWN mode, turn the MODE SELECT knob fully clockwise so that the small pointer is aimed towards the DUSK to DAWN setting. In this mode the lights automatically come on at dusk and turn off at dawn. Motion has no effect.

2.TIME/TESTThe TIME/TEST knob is used to switch into the TEST mode and toset the ON time that the lamp will stay on after motion is detectedwhile in the SECURITY mode. Switching to TEST Mode. A photocellis built into the TIME/TEST knob to automatically shut off the lightduring daylight hours. In TEST mode the photocell is turned off sothe light can come on during daylight hours for testing the coveragearea. To enter TEST mode, turn the knob fully counterclockwise sothat the pointer is aimed at the word "TEST". To leave test mode, turn the knob clockwise away from the TEST position. Note: Whenthe TIME/TEST knob is set to TEST and the MODE SELECT knob isset to SECURITY, the light will come on after motion is detected andwill then shut off after 5~10 seconds of ON time. When the TIME/TEST knob is set to TEST and the MODE SELECT knob is set to DUSK to DAWN, the light will remain on all the time and the coverage area cannot be tested. Setting the ON time: To set the amount of ON time, simply turn the knob clockwise away from the TEST setting. The maximum ON time after motion stops is 10 minutes with theknob turned fully clockwise.

3.SENSITIVITYThe SENSITIVITY knob adjusts the fixture`s sensitivity to motion. Turn the knob clockwise to increase sensitivity and counterclockwise to reduce the sensitivity. The most common setting is fully clockwise for maximum sensitivity. MANUAL OVERRIDE while in SECURITY mode, you can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch by flipping the wall switch off 1 to 3 seconds and then back on. The light will stay on until you flip the switch off and on again. If you leave the light on all night, the light will automatically turn off at dawn and return to

SECURITY mode the next night. The MANUAL OVERRIDE feature only works at night in SECURITY mode or when in TEST mode. COVERAGE AREA The motion detector has two coverage dials, located on either side of the motion detector lens. These dials are used to adjust the coverage area on the left or right side of the fixture without affecting the detector’s sensitivity to motion. The left dial adjusts the coverage to the left of the detector and the right dial adjusts the coverage to the right. There are three settings for each dial. For maximum coverage, turn the coverage dial up. Down for more coverage; Up for less coverage. WALK-TESTING THE COVERAGE AREA TO test the area covered by the motion detector, first switch to TEST modeby turning the TIME knob to the TEST position. Make surethe Mode Select knob is pointing to SECURITY. Walk in thearea to be tested. When your motion is detected, the lightwill come on. Move to a different spot in the area to betested and stop all motion until the light turns off(about 5~10 seconds). Start walking again to see if your motion willactivate the light.

MANUAL OVERRIDEYou can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch by flipping the wall switch off for 1 to 3 seconds and then back on.

TROUBLESHOOTING NOTESIf the lights stay on all the time, the sensitivity might be too great. Try turning the sensitivity down by turning the SENSITIVITY. Note: A dimmer switch can interfere with the sensor and cause the lights to stay on. Do not use a dimmer switch to interfere with the light.

CARE AND MAINTENANCEYour decorative outdoor motion detector lighting fixture requires very little care and maintenance. Simply clean the glass and coated metal surfaces with a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use any cleaners with chemicals, solvents or harsh abrasives. The motion detecting lens is coated with a specially painted finish and requires special care when cleaning. Use only a soft dry cloth to dust or wipe the lens area. Another area that will need special attention is the photocell window located right next to the TIME/TEST knob. The photocell detects light through this small window. Keep this area clean to prevent dirt from collecting. Excessive accumulation of dirt or dust on the photocell window may cause the lights to come on during the day. BULB INSTALLATIONThe light fixture is designed to safely operate with a single medium 100 watt type A-19 incandescent lamp or 23W CFL lamp. Do not overlamp this fixture. Some models require the removal of a cover to access the bulb. To remove the cover, remove the decorative nuts that secure the cover in place. Replace the decorative nuts after installing the bulb.

TROUBLE SHOOTINGUse below chart for troubleshooting your security light

Page 9 Page 10

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTIONIf the light will not come on:

There may be a poor connection between the lamp fixture and supply wires inside the junction box.

Double check the wire connections.

If the light will not come on:

The photocell may be detecting daylight and preventing the light from coming on.

Turn the TIME/TEST knob to the TEST position to turn off the photocell, or wait until dusk and recheck

If the light will not come on:

Bulb may need replacement. Remove bulb and check for a break in the filament wire. Replace bulb if necessary.

If the light will not come on:

Coverage dial on either side of the motion detector lens may be set so that the detector is blocked.

Turn the dials downward to increase the coverage area.

If the light will not come on:

Motion detector lens may be installed upside down. Gently pull lens out. The three drain holes should be on the bottom.

Re-install lens to proper position.

If the light will not come on:

The fixture will only operate on standard 120VAC/60Hz power.

Have power supply checked by qualified electrician

If the light stays on:

The SENSITIVITY may be set too high. Try reducing the SENSITIVITY in small steps

If the light stays on:

Motion detector lens may be installed upside down.

Gently pull lens out. The three drain holes should be on the bottom. Re-install in proper position.

If the light stays on:

The coverage area may be too large and the motion detector is sensing unwanted motion.

Try adjusting the coverage dials on either side of the motion detector lens upward to reduce the coverage area.

If the light stays on:

There may not be enough light being detected by the photocell

On cloudy or overcast days, the light may stay on longer than intended. No corrective action needed

If the light flashes or blinks:

The photocell maybe detecting light from the lamp and could be responding as if the light from the bulb were daylight.

Try lower wattage bulb

Light will not go on or off

Motion sensor needs to be reset. If light is connected to wall switch, turn on and off to reset system
