summer.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

At the end of their first year, Year 7 pupils were asked “What is it like being in Year 7 at Ryedale School?” and “What have you most enjoyed about Ryedale School this year?” Here are some of their answers…..
Tabitha Willshaw said: “I was scared about getting lost but I soon got the hang of where the classrooms are and I didn’t need to use a map!”
Millie-Anne Foster said: “When I started at Ryedale I was terrible at sports but I have got much better and I am in a few sports teams!” Alex van der Heijden said: “I recommend doing the lunchtime clubs as they are a great way to make friends as well as finding something you are interested in and could do in the future. Also, it increases your chances of getting in the school teams and competing against other schools.”
Imogen Clegg said: “When I first came to Ryedale School I was anxious I wouldn’t make friends, but within the first day I knew I had made some loyal friends. Teachers also made lessons really fun which I didn’t think would be possible. I am so glad I chose to come to Ryedale!” Haydn Vity said: “PE in my perspective is the best lesson because it is good for your health, the teachers are nice, you learn a lot and most importantly ir is really fun because there is a whole variety of different sports to play. Don’t be worried because I am positive you will find a sport you love!”
William Pepler said: “When I started at Ryedale I was nervous, I never felt able to put my hand up in lessons. However, after a few weeks, I grew more confident to do so.” Jack Deighton said: “I was worried about finding my way around but staff and students are very helpful and having your planner helps as well!”
Information about my new school The School Day The school day begins at 8.55am and ends at 3.40pm. The day is divided into 5 periods, each lasting one hour. There is a morning break at 11.20am. Lunch is from 12.35 until 1.35pm. During the school day you will be expected to change rooms for most of your lessons. You should do this as quickly and as quietly as possible, keeping to the left hand side of the corridors.
Home Learning Home Learning is an important part of your school work. It allows you to revise or extend work completed during lessons. It also teaches you to work on your own without people around you and to organise your work effectively. You will be expected to do between 20 - 40 minutes of homework each evening.
