Many types of fabrication and repair require a contractor to meet ASME codes. More than just a formality, these codes insure that work is performed properly to insure safe operations of potentially dangerous processes and equipment. Anyone can tell you they produce quality, but with over sixty- five years of proven experience, Piping & Equipment Co. has both the ability and desire to produce the quality results you need! Code stamps required include: Fabricating a pressure vessel requires a U stamp. Fabricating power piping requires a PP stamp. Making modifications and repairing these vessels requires an R stamp. Fabricating boilers requires the S stamp Repairing boilers requires a R stamp. Piping & Equipment Co. holds Certificates of Authorization for all these stamps, one of only a handful of Kansas companies that do! Steps to holding code stamps: A company must develop a QC program and manual. They must have an authorized inspection agency. Every three years they go through a joint review by state officials and members of the ASME National Board along with representatives from their insurance company, the authorized inspector and his supervisor. Annually, their insurance company audits them, a long, complicated and expensive process that Piping & Equipment Co. follows precisely. Then, welders in the shop and field must meet qualifications. All weld- ers go through a test, either destructive or x-ray. That test is good for six months, unless the welder is continually welding using code procedures. 100% of P&E welders are qualified and follow prescribed procedures We have fabricated, installed, modified and repaired: 3/8 scale steam traction boilers Large boilers in refining, manu- facturing, processing and electri- cal generating applications. We have fabricated, modi- fied and repaired vessels as large as 18 feet in diameter and 50 feet high. Our field crews regularly perform maintenance and repair pressure vessels and modify power and boiler piping. We also build to API and AWS codes. Many types of fabrication and repair require a contractor to meet ASME codes. More than just a formality, these codes insure that work is performed properly to insure safe operations of potentially dangerous processes and equipment. Anyone can tell you they produce quality, but with over sixty-five years of proven experience, Piping & Equipment Co. has both the ability and desire to produce the quality results you need! Code stamps required include:• Fabricating a pressure vessel requires a U stamp. • Fabricating power piping requires a PP stamp. • Making modifications and repairing these vessels requires an R stamp. • Fabricating boilers requires the S stamp• Repairing boilers requires a R stamp. Piping & Equipment Co. holds Certificates of Authorization for all these stamps, one of only a handful of Kansas companies that do!

Steps to holding code stamps:• A company must develop a QC program and manual. • They must have an authorized inspection agency. • Every three years they go through a joint review by state officials and

members of the ASME National Board along with representatives from their insurance company, the authorized inspector and his supervisor.

• Annually, their insurance company audits them, a long, complicated and expensive process that Piping & Equipment Co. follows precisely.

• Then, welders in the shop and field must meet qualifications. All weld-ers go through a test, either destructive or x-ray. That test is good for six months, unless the welder is continually welding using code procedures.

• 100% of P&E welders are qualified and follow prescribed procedures

We have fabricated, installed, modified and repaired:• 3/8 scale steam traction boilers• Large boilers in refining, manu-facturing, processing and electri-cal generating applications.• We have fabricated, modi-fied and repaired vessels as large as 18 feet in diameter and 50 feet high. • Our field crews regularly perform maintenance and repair pressure vessels and modify power and boiler piping. •  We also build to API and AWS codes.
