experts. ASM Global’s VenueShield advice on protocols and procedures for its facilities includes the
use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate, food safety measures, air quality
control, surface cleaning, physical distancing, temperature checks, thermal cameras, hand
sanitizers, reduced touch points, contactless transactions and daily monitoring systems.
ASM Global has proactively partnered with and will further consult with leading subject matter
experts, health officials and industry leaders in the areas of industrial hygiene, sanitization and
fulfilment to consult on all facets of the VenueShield program.
VenueShield will be the ongoing effort to define the customer journey of the future. It is designed
to provide an evolving approach to the unique aspects surrounding each of ASM Global’s facilities
and is guided by consistent input from the company’s venue experts around the world,
representing every venue type.

Nothing is more important than to demonstrate a clean and safe
facility in which to do business. In order to achieve that trust, the
following steps must be taken:
• Deep Clean the building to be prepared to receive events at
Florence Center
• Keep it Clean by adopting new protocols with enhanced
frequency of cleaning using the latest chemicals to kill viruses
E NV I ROMENTAL H YG I ENE
• Florence Center will provide sanitization stations throughout
the venue.
• Clean, disinfect and monitor high touch areas such as lifts,
handrails, door handles etc.
• Implement physical distancing queuing and operational
planning in restrooms.
• Capacity restrictions in restrooms.
• Increased cleaning and disinfecting of all touch surfaces at the
entry/ exit points to venue.
• Implemented cleaning protocols for the delivery and
receiving of items in the loading docks .
• Distributed government advisory signage on hygiene
throughout the venue.
• The air quality of the environment in which we operate is of
paramount importance.

• Encourage your event staff and participants to practice good personal health habits.
• Displaying signs throughout the event to provide frequent reminders to participants to engage in everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
• Providing hand sanitizer
• Clean frequently touched surfaces
• Encourage cashless payment methods, card purchases and
credit card payments
• Adequately communicate any service reductions or limitations
to guests to avoid confusion or frustration.
• Encourage guest compliance with social distancing through periodic announcements or
audio recordings and signage
• Consistently monitor crowd levels and adjust entry/exit points and guest flow patterns as
needed.
• Disposable face masks should be kept on-site and available in the event a worker or attendee becomes sick at your event.
• Routinely clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that are frequently touched.
• Promote messages that discourage people who are sick from attending events. This could include electronic messages sent to attendees prior to the event as well as messages requesting that people leave the event if they begin to have symptoms of COVID-19.
![Page 5: ASM GLOBAL VENUESHIELD](https://reader031.vdocuments.site/reader031/viewer/2022012514/618dd394740eba7ec0032bbd/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
• Capacity can be reduced/managed to allow for appropriate social distancing.
• Exposure time is limited. Guests generally move throughout their experience, much like in an inter-city district or zone.
• A large percentage of attraction attendance is made up of family members and others who live in the same home and thus do not need to be physically distanced from each other.
• Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face
• Maintain your distance from others - 6’ is the recommended safe distance
• Cover your mouth and nose for coughing and sneezing to protect those around you
• Avoid touching surfaces • It is better to be conservative on your initial estimates, monitor guest flow, resolve problem
areas, and adjust your plan frequently. As health conditions improve, you may be able to gradually increase your capacities. Be sure to include your local health authorities in those decisions to ensure alignment.
• To calculate capacities, divide your total square footage/meters by the number of square feet
required per person. For example, if you have 500,000 square feet (46,000 square meters) of guest-accessible space and your region is requiring at least 6 feet (2 meters) as the recommended physical distance between people (which therefore requires 36 square feet or 4 square meters per person), divide 500,000 by 36 and your capacity would be 13,888 people. (This calculation assumes each individual must have at least 36 square feet of space. If family members living in the same household are visiting the park together, you can have more than one person in 36 square feet. Just make sure there’s at least 6 feet of separation between parties.) Alternatively, if you use the 28.3 square foot circle per person approach, your capacity would be 500,000 divided by 28.3 and your capacity would be 17,668 people.

between cycles.
• For amusement park rides, provide hand sanitizer stations for guests
to use both before and after the ride.
• Staff should wipe down and disinfect lapbars, handles, restraints,
seatbelts or harnesses after each cycle of use by a guest.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is a transformative global situation, requiring fresh thinking and increased
safety precautions when hosting events. The Florence Center operates within the ASM Global network of
international venues, we are well placed to integrate the globally developed VenueShield into our local
implementation of increased safety measures.
ASM Global’s VenueShield advice on protocols and procedures for its facilities was developed in accordance with
international health care guidelines from the WHO and other leading authorities. We have consistently
monitored the COVID-19 situation and followed regulations and advice provided by the Center for Disease
Control (CDC), AccelerateSC and Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) .
These measures have included strict adherence to Social distancing measures, increased hygiene practices and
promotion of the CDC.gov website. It is through these interactions that we are able to identify and develop
industry standard best practices.
Since the Florence Center’s inception we
have implemented safe operational pro-
tocols ensuring health and safety is a cen-
tral aspect of our approach to hosting
events. The Florence Center in line with Oc-
cupational Safety and Health Admin-
istration (OSHA) which underpin how we
work under the Work Health and Safety
(WHS) laws and more recently the National
COVID-19 Safe Workplace Principles, thus laying the foundation for quality service and the health and safety prac-
tices clients have come to expect when at The Florence Center. Through close collaboration with our clients, we
have gained a deeper understanding of the event challenges and requirements during this period.
As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting your health and safety at The Florence Center, we have
introduced a range of enhanced measures across the venue to safeguard the wellbeing of our clients, contractors
and team members and all guests that cross our threshold.
