I am not a poet but writing poem is my hobby and whenever I get freetime in my busy life, I try to utilize it. I am a bilingual writer and write in Englishand Bengali with my limited knowledge but in a different style. I try to give amessage in my poem. In my student life, I was interested for writing essays andshort stories and no poems. Now I write only poems and no essays and stories. My wife also writes poem but in Bengali. I am from rural Bengal (West Bengal, India) . I was born and brought-up in ruralBengal. As I am in transferable service, I got the opportunity to live in thedifferent cities in India. Assam Rifles, the guard of Manipur borderHad no clue of this incidentSo tried to digest itIt was the failure of Indian intelligenceFrom military and civil both. To save the face of Indian Arm ForceArmy executed a surgical attackOn the rebel's camp inside BurmaJust after five daysAs America attacked Laden in Pakistan. Army believes... they killed 83 rebelsAnd published photographsIn social networking site as proof

And restored their Aan-baan-shaan. But Army did not thinkIt may reveal the identity of commandosIt's not only a mistake...A big blunder. Asit Kumar Sanyal

A Big Salute To Ritwik Ghatak You were a film directorIn your creative carrierYou made full length films,Short length films and documentaries. You were a writer alsoYou wrote short stories,Plays, poems, Articles and essaysAll were of A-1 standard. You were a theorist tooYour views and comments on filmsAre now the subjects of researchWe are proud of it. You had concentrated on ordinary menAnd their day to day struggleYou could never accept the partition of BengalAll most in your all films it was reflected.

Film making was not the art for youIt was your way of serving people,To express your anger, sorrowsAnd to project the sufferings of people. Your film had the most profound influenceOn many international personalitiesRussia-born German actress Elena Kazan

Is one the examples. Physically you are not in this universeBut you are alive in our heartToday on your 89th birth anniversaryA big salute to you. Asit Kumar Sanyal

A Different Look I have analyzed Indian votersTheir mind, intention, motiveFrom many anglesAnd different cornersI have finally divided themInto three categories'Dog' voters'Cat' votersAnd 'Rat' votersHere is the justification. A dog voter representsThe character of a doga dog loves it's masterAnd not the homestead,A dog voter is also loyalTo his leader and not the partyIf the leader changes partyHe follows himHe is not bother about party

A rightist voter is of this kind. A Cat sticks to the homesteadIt's not loyal to its masterIf master leaves the houseThe cat does not follow himIt remains thereA cat voter have same character

If leader leaves the partyThe voter does notHe or she loves the partyA leftist voter behaves like a cat. The rat voters are differentThey are neither for leaderNor for the partyThey are the opportunistAnd behave like the ratsWherever they get foodstuff

But might be some kind of Proto-DravidianWhile the script had similaritiesWith Brahmi, the earliest Indian script. It was hoped by historiansThe painstaking study will decodeThe Harappan languageAnd people would understandThe secrets of its civilization. But despite the best endeavours of

You will be happy to hearThe begining of change has startedOne side...... as usualthe young people with political background

joining parties to rule the countrygeneration wiseAnd to loot tax payers money through scamsother side, the brilliant studentswith no political background joining politicsleaving their high profile carriersto change the existing system.

Purva Express is an important trainBetween New Delhi and Howrah

And must have the priorityPM is making Indian railway readyFor introducing the bullet trainsThough it is not fit for it.Railway should runThe routine trains in timeAnd provide the passengersSafety and security first.

Age Is Not The Bar Jolly is a teen age Indian girlNeither a baby nor a woman,She bears the different philosophyAnd loves a man of fifty one. When she is on her lover's lap,She loves him like a fan,And when takes him on the chestShe enjoys him like a crazy woman. She believes, she is well maturedThough she is sixteen years womanAnd she does not feel him agedAs he is active like a young man. The age of a male is not the factorHe must have masculine powerA female from fifteen to fiftyIs a woman … age is not the bar.

An Angel A person becomes popularFrom his or her behaviorGood behavior makes a man angelAnd a woman... goddessIf the person is from higher levelExtra feathers are addedBut such persons are very lessIn our societyIn the journey of my lifeI met one...Before a decadeHe was my directorAn 'Indian Navy' officerCommodore Bala SubhramaniumHe touched my heartFrom inside. His look was not so beautifulHis color was not fairAnd he had no supernatural power

He was simple, honest, positive...Exceptional and differentFrom other 'Indian Navy' officersFor me... He is an angelI learned yoga from himHe taught me it at lunch breakSitting on the floor in dressFor a fortnight

Later he left Navy, no contactBut he is in my heartAt every dawnI remember him with respectWhile sit for pranayam. Asit Kumar Sanyal

An Ugly Man An Indian, black fatty... like NegroSix feet high, ninety eight kilo weightFace like a round aboutWith many scars. His overall look was like a monsterUgliness was not only the skin dipBut it went to his boneChildren of his locality say him

‘The living demon'. My English teacher used to say,People looks good may not be beautifulAnd an ugly person may be beautiful oneThe beauty is preserved insideSometime ugliness transforms into beautyLike a butterflyIt starts with ugly and awkwardAnd then morph into graceful butterfliesThat every one loves.I started searching the beauty in him.

I revealedHe was in Arm Force for two decadesLater he started his own businessHe had no other option exceptOpening a shop in the market. His scars were the mark of battle woundsIt was showing what he had been faced

And how strong he wasFor coming out of it.But people could not see. He learned in Army BarackTo Fight, suffer, struggle, lossAnd had found their way out.India needs people like himUgly but intelligent,Courageous, strong, hopeful, cleverAnd not the beautiful people

The devil influenced my fatherHe occupied a space in his soul,Slowly destroyed our happy familyAnd put us in a dangerous hole. Balance Sheet Vs Poetry Someone saidThe men who can read balance sheetsCan't write poetryIt's not rightI can read balance sheetsAnd write poetry tooMay not be good one, but I canCommerce is in my plinthBook keeping is in my heartAnd final account is in my memoryI can read balance sheets nicelyNot only of a companyBut of the life too. My balance sheet is simpleWhen I go through itI found, children is my assetThe amount spend on their educationIs my investmentMistakes I made is my loss

Happiness is my profitFame is my goodwillHonesty is my capitalAnd what I get from my children …Now and then … is my dividend. The life is connected withbalance sheet and poetry … both

But poetry is more relevantI can live any longer without balance sheetBut not without poetryBecause balance sheet can be put in poetryBut poetry can't be put in balance sheet. Asit Kumar Sanyal

Bengali Woman I am the Bengali woman,The beauty of beautiful West BengalI have a sweet name, meaningfulit's special, many things found in itI am born-intelligent, found on my faceIt's the key to my sexuality, personalityI always talk less but entertain my manEven when I am totally quite.

I am the Bengali womanLiberal, broad minded, daring, sensitiveNature put beauty in my dark deep eyesAnd in my style of lookingMy gorgeous eyes speaks with no wordWhen a man looks into it, hypnotizesSays, your eyes much more beautifulThan your look … your figure. I am the Bengali woman

Soft, shy, blunt and opinionatedI live to travel, work to travel, save to travelMy hands know the spell magicIts cook delicious food, veg to non-vegIts flavor goes up to man's heartThrough his stomachAnd he becomes insane for me.

I am the Bengali woman,Other name of Eastern Indian cultureI am foodie, love to eat variety foodI don't prefer dieting, fasting, budget cuttingAnd never serious in health care issuesYet my figure always sexy, attractiveBetter than North Indian womanI see quality of food, not the quantity. I am the Bengali womanThe feminist, affectionate, kind hearted

Boss Is Always Right You may be in service or civilYour boss may be an angel or a devilTwo rules are applicable everywhereIt's called the golden rules of office1 The boss is always right2 If any doubt, refer rule number oneI experienced it for forty years. Two things required for promotion1 The employee must be intelligent2 He/she should know how to butterThose are having only one qualityThey always slip from promotion raceBut those posses both are successfulI experienced it for forty years. There are two classes in the officeThe deserved and the reservedThe reserved are the son-in-lawOf the government, no need to work

Deserved are the mango peopleTakes the total load of the officeI experienced it for forty years.

Two species work in the officesThe horses and the donkeysThe horses run faster than donkeys. It's natural. The donkeys are idiots

But the top boss chains the horsesPulls backward to make donkeys fasterI experienced it for forty years. Two categories work in my officeCivilians and service people of NavyMutton is reserved here for serviceAnd civilians enjoy the gravyBut civilians are true work forceService people enjoy the powersI see it since 1975, long forty years.

Dirty Politics Politics is always a dirty gameBut it is the dirtiestin my home state West Bengal,Here the left minded politiciansdestroyed existing education systemJust to remain in powerThey re-structured itAnd introduced politicsIn all the three tires of education...Student, teacher and administration.

The reform damaged the systemLike a missileThough warhead was notNuclear, Biological or chemical,But it paralyzed two generationsOf West BengalAs it was the slow poisoning policyAnd completely political.

They wanted to make the youth joblessAnd compelled to join party. The need wasTo educate the illiterate politiciansBut they introduced politicsIn the education system.Cadres appointed as school teachers

Leaders took the command of collegesCompelled the cream studentsTo join their laboratoriesAs experimental ginipicsIn the revised system. The communists wanted to showA revolution in education systemBut their intention wasTo make the youth lameAnd to pick them as cadre easily.

Economics The financial management of a countryIs simillar to a pumping stationwhere the pump sucks water from a sourceLifts it to a overhead tank and supplyTo the consumers through piping system. A state's economy also runs similar wayThe revenue department here is a pumpIt collects tax from common peopleAnd deposits the same to finance department.which acts like overhead tankThe collected money goes to the peopleThrough various plan, project, scheme.via district, block, village authoritiesThey are like filters, valves, taps in the system. The leaks, holes, cracks in the pipelineReleases gallons of water from the systemAnd it goes to ditches, ponds pools, lakesPassing through municipal drains.

Farm Animal A cow gives birth to a beautiful babyAt a dairy farmAnd instantly bonds with her childBut she does not knowHer baby will be stolen soonTo get her full milk in the canFor selling it to human being. Her cry will go in vainAlso the wailing for the babyNot only a cow or buffaloIt's common for all the farmed animalsAnd seen all over the world. Mothers deserve to raise their babiesAnd live together as a familyBut farmed animals are separatedFrom their childrenRight after the birthTheir male babies are slaughteredAfter certain time

The females are put backTo the cruel systemTo grow, give birthAnd have their own babies stolenFrom their too. (Wild Flowers)

Forgiveness Forgiveness is different from condoning,It is not excusing or pardoning tooNot even forgetting and reconciliationIt is different from those thingsForgiveness is granted withoutAny expectation of Restorative justice and responseOn the part of the offender. It develops relationshipBetween the forgiver and the forgiven. It's the truth, we are not secureWe lose our jobs, face bankruptcyDeal with divorceFace the life threatening illnessFight with political problemsImmigration issues make us sleeplessWar, despair, violenceForce us to think negativeHow can we find the courage to forgive

And cause a new realm of possibility? We can, here is an example …A drunk driver, made an accidentKilled Mr. 'A's family membersMr. 'A' was broken,But he did not thought as othersThe driver was a drunk, took his family

But Mr. ‘A' thoughtThe driver is a loving and kind man,He made a horrific mistakeAnd forgave the driver unconditionally. Every ending is a new beginningIt is God's graceThe driver gave up the liquorAnd become his fan from that day.

Forty Plus In the march of lifeA man comes in contact of many womenOf different classes, different naturesFrom teens to forty plusEach one looks like a rose from outsideBut practically they are not soSome are really red roses,Beautiful, attractive, pleasing ….Both from inside and outsideThey influence menBy their sweet fragranceAnd take their partners into heaven. But majority are like onionsEach one appears like full moonCovered with layers of fine clothWhen a man uncovers herto enjoy the lunar beautyGets pungent smell, becomes strangeAnd bursts into tears. He realizes from experience

The beauty of a woman does not locateIn her face, figure or artsIt's found in her soulAnd reflects in the eyes.A beautiful woman is alwaysdaring and caringAnd loving tooThe beauty is found in her nature

In her mannersIt starts growing silently inside herFrom the teen ageIt develops in a slow process, steadilyLike the moon it gets shape graduallyDay by day, year by yearAnd matures when she is forty plusHere she is most beautifulFrom outside and insideFrom heart and soulAnd from the angle of sex

The white English men were forcedTo quit IndiaPower came to the Black English man,The wealth of the countryStopped sailing to EnglandBut it started flying to Swiss bank. Friendship What's the definition of friendship?what is its parameterI don't knowEven intellectuals are not unanimousOn this issueEthics, moral science says,The friend in need is a friend indeed.Though the proverbs are germinatedin the practical field of life.As the sprout comes outFrom the heart of the seedYet it's not correct alwaysWe get many people as friendIn the journey of lifeBut all are not friendsThose love from withinhelp to come out from dangerDon't leave in bad days alonePoint out weak pointsGive good suggestions

Sometime become annoyedCalled friends.Friends are of many typesIf, husband and wife become friendsAnd love, belief, faith playBetween them like childrenThat's the true friendship.

God I am a HinduThe follower of Sanatana DharmaHindu believes, GOD (G+O+D) is Param BrahmaThe supreme abstract authorityAnd is known to the creature as OM. He is the in-charge of All the three departments of this universeGeneration, Operation and DestructionHe is like the Director GeneralHis three directors are Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Brahma looks after the Generation (G)Vishnu is the head of Operation (O)And Shiva is the in-charge of Destruction (D) .They are the permanent directorsAnd they never attain the age of retirement. The power of Brahma is SaraswatiShe is his wife

Goddess of knowledge and harmonyAs the knowledge is key requirementBrahma depends on Saraswati for creation. Laxmi is the power of VishnuShe is his wifeAnd the goddess of wealth, cropsVishnu depends on her in operation

From now their hearts will not talk to otherHe will be billions of miles away from her,Fairies will accompany him to vigil and careTears will wet her pillow silently at night. Relatives picked up her, body went into furnaceShe broke into tears but shutters dropped downLadies broke her bangles, Wiped out sindurDressed white and made her perfect widow. She will search him now in the blue skyHe will shine there gently being a star,And will come every night in her sweet dreamto gossip, to love and to say good bye.

Happiness Happiness is an emotional stateRanging from contentment to intense joyIt's not a ready made emotionAnd not acts like a cell-powered toy. It's not dependent on other peopleComes from withinfrom the living with natural loveAnd following a healthy routine. A person may be easily hurtBy other's behavior and actionsBut when earned it gathers in mind,May be a lot or in fractions. It cures all those painsFor which medicine not inventedOne should preserve happinessBecause it exists only when accepted.

True happiness is related with freedomThat has higher value than loveThe love drops often to save freedomIt covers life like a protection glove. Always share your happiness with othersNever decreases if shared or dispensedHappiness works like a lighting candle

Came willingly forwardPut on his fishing capTook the time of mishapAnd thought from deep to deeper. He calculated the influence of tideThat is active insideAnd pointed out with pridea small area of river.

He took two divers,Two water police, two visitorson his boatReached to that assumed spotWithout any costAnd told a failed diver'Go to the river-bedGrab the deadJust like a spider.'The diver dipped inside

Hindu I am HinduBut ‘Hindu' is not my religionIt's the dominant culture of IndiaThe way of lieThat was developedAt both the banks of river SindhuPresently at Pakistan. I am the follower of ‘Sanatan Dharma'The oldest religion of the worldThe dharma is more inclusive than religionIt's the eternal wayIt prescribes the eternal dutiesHonesty, mercy, purity, self-resistantAmong others. Hinduism is the fusion of Various Indian cultures and traditionsWith diverse rootsIt has no single founder, single scripture

And no commonly agreed set of teachingsIt gives us a wide spectrum of lawsOf daily morality. A real Guru of Sanatan Dharma never tells …Everybody must listen to meEveryone must seek only my advice. But he always tells the people …

The real fight is not with othersIt is with our own unconsciousnessAnd unawareness. Asit Kumar Sanyal

Hindu Temple The Hindu temple is an interesting placeHere poor beg outside and rich... insideThe difference is...Poor beg to fill their stomachAnd rich beg to deposit wealth in foreign bankGods and Goddesses response rich firstBecause their offerings are attractive.Poor keep on begging for whole lifeTheir pray does not reach to the god family. Hollowness When I was in collegeI would consider myself a learned personAnd used to make sound everywhereLike a dropping coinUsed to urgue with priests and GurusWith my seniorsOld persons. But the mistakes, fouls, disgraceThe unpleasant and bitter experiencesDeveloped me slowlyIt made me silent, confidentLike a currency note. Now coming to this retiring ageI understand the realityAnd my hollowness. In the past yearsI used to look only at outside world

And my immature dreamsNow, I look insideTry to understand meMeasure my capacityAnd valuate my achievementsI don't get positive answer. My dreams and thoughts disappeared

I became ashamed. (Wild Flowers) Asit Kumar Sanyal

Hope We are alive for what? It's the hope and love,Hope is like a dry leaf in waterDropped by the dove.Hope is found in poemsHope is found in drama,It's seen in medicineThough suffers from trauma.Hope is seen in musicIt is found in painting,It's the fairy tale's lifeIt is seen in dancing.Hope boosts architectureIt's energy of sports,Hope dances in circusIt's alive in the court.Hope is like bird's featherWe fly in the sky with it,Hope changes creature's lifeSits on the pilot's seat.

Hope always pushes us forwardWe all work with the hope,When the hope disappearsFarmers hang themselves by rope. Asit Kumar Sanyal

Horse Power A man is compared with a racing horseAnd his masculine power with horse powerIt's the power of his sexThe power to keep his mate with him.A man may have many degreesHigher balance in banksMay be strong enoughBut, if don't have horse powerNo woman will stay with him.Gold ornament can't change her decisionBig house can't fulfill her hungerEither she will ask for divorceor will push off with the driver.
