In SPG you have to conduct a research on 4 product categories (excluding apparel) covering the following broad points. Two product categories have to be studied pre-midterm and 2 post mid- term ----------------------------- 1. Introduction to the industry (Indian perspective) -------Size, growth rate, Status (organized/unorganized), Key Players 2. Product life cycle (from raw material to finished product) ------Overview of processes involved, Forecasting, Market study, Design Development, Range planning, Product Development, Marketing, 4Ps at each stage of PLC, Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Coordination, Supply Chain Partners, Market Linkages 3. Product Retail - Retailing activities & processes, Key issues and challenges, Front-end dynamics, Selling tactics, trade promotions etc. Comparison of practices (among Indian brands and also Indian brands vs International brands) 4. Future scope. Discussion of three successful brands / organizations
