Bullies use their power (physical, strength, access to embarrassing information, or popularity) to control or harm others

Defining Bullying

Verbal bullying: saying or writing mean things

Social bullying: hurting someone’s reputation or relationships (relational bullying)

Physical bullying: hurting someone’s body or possessions

Cyber bullying: bullying that takes place using electronic technology

Types of Bullying

Bully: engages in the bullying behavior towards peer

Victim: target of the bullying behaviorAssistant: don’t start or lead bullying,

but assist the bullyReinforcer: not directly involved, but

give the bully an audienceOutsider: remain separate from bullying
