ANNUAL REPORT OF MANCHIKALALU 2017-18

1. LITERACY HERO AWARD : This is the most prestigious Award received on Mar 3rd 2017 based on public polling, conducted by Rotary International. More than 7 lakhs votes were polled for our Organization by the public. We stood first with a majority of above 2 lakhs votings.

2. 10 th ANNIVERSARY : Memorable day of Manchikalalu. Our journey has hit a milestone.We celebrated our 10th Anniversary at Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium, Hyderabad with lot of enthusiasm by giving a awareness cultural treat to all our well wishers by performing a skit on child labour-“THE GREAT ROBBERY” and a ballet on concept of saving our own environment “HARITHAHARAM”.

FIT INSTITUTION : This year, we recognized by the Telangana Government as a “FIT INSTITUTION”. We felt happy for being rewarded for our quality and hard work, as out of 1200 Organizations which were assessed by the Government, only 8 were selected in first priority as “Fit Institutions”. And we are one of them. Got License on 27th July 2017.

3. PICNIC : Jolly Time......Once a year, we will be going out for a picnic to fly the colors. This year on the eve of Children’s day on 14th November 2017, Our kids have gone to Lionia Resorts and enjoyed lot.

4. PRAPANCHA TELUGU MAHA SABHALU: On 15th December 2017, another achievement for Manchikalalu. Government has organized this prestigious event to honour the “Telugu” language and our children are identified as the talented and we are provided an opportunity to perform a ballet on Pracheena Kavulu, which is witnessed by the whole Telugu people and the high cadre of the Government.

5. FESTIVALS : Manchikalalu is a fusion of religions. We celebrate all festivals in a calendar year – Sankranthi, Ugadi, Ramzan, Ganesh Chathurthi, Dussera, Deevali and Christmas. We respect every religion and discuss the significance of these holy days.

6. ACADEMICS : We felt proud of Shiva when his Intermediate results came out and he stood 1st in his College. He now became the inspiration to all kids at our home. He acquired seat in Mechanical Engineering in CVSR College. 5 of our children written SSC exams this year have scored more than 60%. Nikith has successfully completed B.Com and acquired MBA seat in Nalla Mallareddy College. Except 4-5 kids, rest all the children has performed very well in their academics this year. Overall performance is good this year, compared to previous year. Thanks for your sustenance.

7. GANESH : The most prestigious Award from A.P. Government. Ganesh, one of our kids studying 7th class won the NANDI AWARD as a “Best Child Artist” for his excellent performance as Child Ambethkar character in the skit “Raja Gruha Pravesam “.

8. YOGA & MEDITATION : As fitness is very important for a healthy lifestyle, our children practice Yoga every morning and practice meditation for mental peace.

9. MAHANATI SAVITHRI AWARD: June 24th, 2018. This Award given to Bhavani w/o Sarath Kumar in the name of Great Tollywood actress “SAVITHRI”, for the endless efforts being put in by us to provide the better and quality life to the children.

10. CRAFT WORKS: Our Children are multi-talented. We study, we dance, we sing, we play and we does the craft works as well. We arrange some stalls with our craft works in some software Organizations at Hyderabad. So as to showcase our talent and also to let know the public about our Organization.

11. BIRTHDAYS: Every child, in fact every human treats their birthdays to be the most special day of the year. We at Manchikalalu celebrate every child’s birthday so as to keep them joyous and make them feel special.

11. MOUNIKA REDDY VISIT: Mounika Reddy, one of the volunteers of Asha for Education visited our Organization on29th, November 2017 and she was very impressed by our work and felt that the help from Asha is being utilized to the best by us.

12. NEWS COVERAGE: Print Media published few articles about our Organization, our work and our cultural events.

13. OWN H OUSE PROJECT: We always had a dream of having own house for the children. With the help of some generous donors, we have purchased a plot in 2015 and started construction. Though we were stuck at many stages of construction, managed to collect funds and completed the construction by 80%.

But to complete the rest 20%, we have no other source of funding.

If we can manage to complete the construction by the next academic year, we can shift to the new hoe and save up 24,000/- per month.

We humbly request you’re most needed and valuable support in providing proper shelter to these kids and to accommodate many more needy children.
