What’s New?

• New interactive mode for quizzes o Incorrect and correct answer feedback displays after a quiz question is submitted. o Prompts allow learners to re-attempt the question, view feedback, or navigate to the next

or previous question. • Improvements claiming CME credits

o Successfully completing self-assessments will launch the required course evaluations. o Completing the course evaluation will prompt learners to claim CME credits.

• Improvements to synchronization and logout o Upon logging out, course progress is retained. o Instructional messaging has been improved.

• Push notifications o Receive notifications of new content and courses plus CME credit claiming deadlines.

• Forgotten password o Password reset link accessible from the App.

• Confirm course delete message allows learners to “Sync” the course in the same message alert.

• “Back to Question” button is displayed at both the top and bottom of each page. • If passing score is not received upon quiz submission, a message appears informing

learners of the quiz result and prompts to return to the quiz and correct incorrect answers. • If receiving a passing score upon quiz submission, a message will appear informing learners

of successful completion with the option to review quiz questions or move on to the next activity.

Using the ASA® My Learning App Overview This user manual will take learners through the steps from logging in to the ASA® My Learning app to claiming CME Credits. This guide is broken into sub-task based on the different sections of the app.

Important Notes Concerning the App Usage

ACE • Only the ACE electronic version is available via the app. • Passing Grade is 100%. • All activities must be synced to the ASA Education Center in order to view the activity in the

ASA Education Center profile. See “Syncing to the ASA Education Center” on page 17. • If selecting “Reset Current Attempt” in the quiz, all data is lost and ALL answers must

be re-entered. • Once the assessment is submitted, responses are only visible in the ASA Education Center.

Reviewing a previous submission is not available on the app.

SEE • Only the SEE electronic version is available via the app. • Passing Grade is 50%. • All activities must be synced to the ASA Education Center in order to view the activity in the

ASA Education Center profile. See “Syncing to the ASA Education Center” on page 17. • If selecting “Reset Current Attempt” in the quiz, all data is lost and ALL answers must be re-

entered. • Once the assessment is submitted, responses are only visible in the ASA Education Center.

Obtaining and Logging into the App

Step Action/Example 1 Go to the Apple Store

(iPhone 5 & 6/iPad) or Google Play (Android with screens 5.5 inches or greater).

2 Search for “ASA My Learning.”

3 Install then open the app

4 Enter email address on file with ASA.

5 Enter password on file with ASA.

6 Select “Sign In.” NOTE: If forgotten password, see “Resetting Forgotten Password” section.

7 Select option to receive or not receive notifications from the ASA Education Center. NOTE: Notifications are sent to the user email address on file with ASA.

Resetting Forgotten Password

Step Action/Example 1 Select “Forgot Password”

from the login screen.

2 A dialog window appears. Select whether to open the reset password link in the app or browser (i.e., Safari).

3 Enter the email address on file with ASA and select “Reset Password.” NOTE: This will generate an email with a link to reset password.

Registering the Device

Step Action/Example 1 Name and register the device

being used.

NOTE: Since the App can be used on multiple iOS and Android devices, in addition to the Web version, device names will allow synchronization among multiple devices.

Each time logging into the app on a different device or after logging out, this prompt displays.

Downloading/Accessing a Course

NOTE: If starting the course on the app, learners may complete it on the app, or may continue the course on the Web via a laptop/desktop computer (See “Syncing App to ASA Education Center” section).

Step Action/Example

1 Select the download icon from the desired course to download to the device.

2 The course will display the progress.

3 When the download is complete, a gear icon appears.

4 To access the course, select the course name.

Step Action/Example 1 Select to access the quiz.

2 Select to complete the Course evaluation. NOTE: This area is LOCKED and cannot be accessed until the quiz is successfully completed.

3 Select to complete the CME Certificate. NOTE: This area is LOCKED and cannot be accessed until the quiz and course evaluation are successfully completed.

4 Select any brown booklet, computer icon, or other icons to view the information within the specific section.

Taking the Quiz

Step Action/Example 1 To begin the quiz, select

“Take Quiz.”

2 After entering the quiz, select the question to begin answering the quiz questions.

A Home Return to the course listings.

B Return Goes back to the previous screen.

C Discussion Shows the discussion for the question selected.

D Notes Allows the user to make notes on the question.

E Flag Flags a question.

F ? Brings up help menu for the question.

4 Select “Next Question” to go to the next question. NOTE: Correct answers cannot be changed.

5 Select “Back to Question” to return to the question. NOTE: “Back to Question” is displayed at the TOP and BOTTOM of the discussion.

Incorrect Answers

4 Select “Try Again” to return to the question and reselect another answer.

If “Discussion” was selected

NOTE: “Try Again” is displayed at the TOP and BOTTOM of the discussion.

6 Select “Next” to go to the next question.

WARNING: Selecting “Next” retains the question as incorrect until a correct answer is submitted.

Completing the Quiz

Step Action/Example 1 Select “Review” to

reexamine questions/answers.

Select “Continue” to go to the next activity.

Completing the Evaluation and Claiming CME Credit Learners can complete the course evaluation and claim CME Credit from the app. They can also accomplish this on the ASA Education Center but must sync to the ASA Education Center first.

Step Action/Example

1 Select “Contribute Feedback” to complete the course evaluation. NOTE: When feedback is complete, CME claiming screen is automatically opened.

2 Enter amount of CME Credits claimed.

3 Select “Set Credits to Claim.” NOTE: The CME Certificate is only available for printing via the ASA Education Center under “My Transcript.”

Syncing to the ASA® Education Center

Step Action/Example 1 NOTE: Begin the syncing

process from any screen. To sync, select the “Home” icon.

2 OPTION 2: To sync, select the back arrow until reaching the course listings.

3 Select the gear icon.

4 Select “Sync with Education Center.”

5 Sync is complete when the gear icon is no longer visible.
