Coffee specialists and experiential travel enthusiasts can join the trip for a discovery on Kenya’s specialty coffee production, nature activities and a short safari experience. The participants will be able to try their hand at coffee picking on select day(s). On this trip, Gibson’s Coffee will host coffee seekers at their coffee farms in Kirinyaga, on the slopes of Mount Kenya followed by a visit to the Nyeri milling center with a safari experience at Ol Pejeta Conservancy and finally to Gibsons Riamute Coffee Farm at Kiambu before returning to Nairobi on a this 7-Day Kenya Coffee Culture Safari to see and gain first-hand experience about Kenya’s coffee growing, cherry picking, wet and natural processing.

SAFARI ITINERARY DAY 1 - Arrive in Nairobi City After arrival at Jomo Kenyatta INT Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Nairobi Serena Hotel for an overnight. (BB)

DAY 2 - Drive to Mount Kenya After breakfast at Nairobi Serena you will be met for a pre-safari briefing. Thereafter you will depart Nairobi on a scenic drive with your driver guide to the slopes of Mount Kenya. Arrive in time for familiarizing at the Serena Mountain Lodge, followed by a lunch meal and the afternoon will be at leisure. You can enjoy an optional guided nature walk on the Mt. Kenya ecosystem before returning to refresh, have dinner and an overnight at the Serena Mountain Lodge. (FB)

DAY 3 - Visit Coffee Farms around Kirinyaga

After a full breakfast at the lodge, you will start the drive to nearby coffee farms at Kirinyaga on the slopes of Mt. Kenya to visit and see the coffee plants and cherries produced at different altitudes. Lunch will be taken as picnic at a shaded garden area. In the afternoon check out more types of coffee

seedlings and learn about the processing methods for specialty coffee. In the late afternoon return to the Serena Mountain Lodge for refreshing, dinner and overnight. (FB)

DAY 4 - Coffee picking on the slopes of Mount Kenya After a full breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to Gibson’s Coffee farm where picking ripe coffee cherries in a span of 4 hours alongside our team will be happening. Lunch will be taken as picnic at a shaded garden. In the afternoon, join them at sorting the picked coffee cherries. In the late afternoon return to the Serena Mountain Lodge for refreshing, dinner and overnight. (FB)

DAY 5 - Nyeri Milling Center – Ol Pejeta Conservancy After breakfast, you will drive to Nyeri Coffee Millers where you will see the milling process and learn about the different stages that our coffee has to go through pulping and drying before it is ready for packing and exporting. Lunch will be taken as picnic at an ideal location. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Dinner and overnight will be at Sweetwaters Serena Camp. (FB)

DAY 6 - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Enjoy an early morning cup of freshly brewed Kenyan coffee or tea with a full breakfast before the

start of your morning game drive around the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Return for lunch at the

Sweetwaters and enjoy the facilities at leisure. In the afternoon visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee

Sanctuary and the Morani Centre on a game viewing drive. Thereafter you’ll return to Sweetwaters

Serena Camp for dinner and overnight. You are able to view wildlife coming to the water hole to drink.

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy, is a pristine calm private conservancy and is one of the few private game

conservancies to have been founded in Kenya. At the forefront of the Kenyan conservancy program,

the conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, hosts the only chimpanzee

sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species as well as the Big Five

wildlife among other plains herds.

DAY 7 - Drive to Kiambu Specialty Coffee Micro-Lots After a full breakfast at Sweetwaters Serena, you will start your drive to Kiambu where you will visit Gibson’s Riamute coffee estate and learn about the quality of coffee that is cultivated here. Later, you will taste the varied coffees that will be cupped respectively and you will be able to distinguish the light to medium roasted flavors from the AA and PB (Peaberry) coffee beans.

You will proceed to Nairobi City and you will have a farewell dinner at Gibson’s Coffee House. Thereafter, you will be transferred to Nairobi Serena Hotel for an overnight. (BB) The cost of this itinerary with six (6) people in one Toyota Land Cruiser, would be:
