As my magazine is for both males and females this question was mostly to show that i have represented both groups of people equally. Results show that there is a definate 50/50 split between males and females for the questionnaire so it is appropriately representative of the views of both parties. This was another question where the purpose was to assure that i was getting results specifically from my primary and secondary audiences. Results show that that 80% of results for the questions came from the age range of my primary audience and 20% from my secondary audience. This not only shows that i was asking the right people but also helps with what type of content i should focus my product on, it also helps as colour schemes and designs can be aimed at specific age groups. Results show that 60% of the people asked are in school currently, this suggests that prices should be kept lower so that it is more likely this majority group can afford the product as students tend to have less money to spend. 85% of people are in some kind of work however so this means that perhaps the price can be raised somewhat. This question again shows that people from my target audience are being represented. Answers from this question show that the most common frequency of reading EDM magazines is sometimes to often. This shows that 85% of people at least semi-regularly will purchase magazines like the one that i want to make, therefore there is definitely a market and also definitely consumers willing to buy my product. Answers also suggest that i should probably either go with a weekly or monthly release (most likely monthly) in order to appeal to the most people possible These results mirror what was said in my industry research on the number of people that actually use subscriptions in order to purchase their magazines. With only 15% of people actually using subscription services this shows that there isn’t really any point in selling any of my magazines via a subscription as it will most likely be a waste of money and resources. Just using shops and an online service for consumers to view my product is therefore probably the most cost effective and profitable method.

As my magazine is for both males and females this question was mostly to show that i have represented both groups of people equally. A vast majority of the audience (70%) have said that the cover image is what attracts them the most to a magazine. This shows that i will have to focus alot on making the image very good and memorable in order to make my audiences want to purchase the product. interestingly , 25% of people stated that they were attracted to the brand the most, in order to appeal to as many people as possible i should try and create a memorable style to the magazine that can be recognised easily by consumers. A recognisable house style will attract more people to my product. The primary purpose of this question was to discover from my target audience which magazines would be my major competitors on the market. Results show that NME and clublife are most likely going to be my primary competitors. This is very helpful to me as it shows who’s style i have to compete with and also improve upon in order to stand out well. It also shows however that my product has to go against a magazine distributed by one of the major music magazine companies in the UK, IPC. The results of this question mirror and therefore reinforce what was suggested by the earlier question on if people are in school or in work, the fact that 85% of people asked to to the questions where in some sort of work naturally leads to 65% of people willing to pay a higher price for a magazine. With more disposable income from work people are more willing to spend more on things that they enjoy. This also means that my product must be of a high quality however to match the price. 65% of people said that they would prefer a more abstract style to my magazine. Whilst this is a majority i feel like it’s not enough that i should fully focus on it. I think that i will probably try to find something of a compromise between the two styles whilst focusing somewhat more on an abstract look in order to try and attract the remaining 35% of consumers to my product.

As there was no clear majority again for this question i feel that there will be somewhat of a compromise between the two again. By utilizing features of both minimalist and complex styles however if done right i could create an interesting visual contrast of styles that could serve to grab the attention of consumers and be recognised a a house style for my product. This question aimed to realize which EDM sub-genres i should focus on more in my magazine through articles and interviews. The three most popular sub-genres are clearly trap, electro-house and drum and bass, therefore i shall focus primarily on these three in order to attract the most people possible in my target audiences. Results show a clear majority for the name Prodigy for my magazine. So i therefore will use this name for my magazine as the most people thought that this was the most interesting title.
