THE VERBS

The verb is that which tells something about a person or thing. In other words the verb is the part of speech which tell of action or doing.

Transitive verbs A verb that takes an object is

called transitive verbs. eg:The boys played match

He bouhght a bicyle. He stoped the scooter.

Kannan gave a cup of tea.

Intransitive verbs1. This burns 2. The sun rose 3. Plants grow 4. Dog barkThere verbs (burn, rice, grow, bark) do not require objects. They are called intransitive verbs

Auxiliary verbsAuxiliary verbs are helping are

verbs which are used with other verbs to form the tenses, moods , voices,

questions etceg: Kumar was suffering

from headache.Kumar was an intelligent boy.
