Client : GE Appliance-Range

Design & Development of parts, mainly sheet metal, using CREO tool.

Learned NPI process, which GE follows, using Six Sigma & lean Methodology.

Been through Six Sigma Green Belt training.

Design Calculations of new Scoping parts.

With my efforts got promoted as Sub-System Leader,in Performance Subsystem including

Heating Elements & Air Flow Control parts in Range.

Roles & Responsibilities: To design a plastic housing for notification LED board.

Generating FBD (function block diagram) for understanding functionality & critical gaps.

Validate the design tolerance stack up analysis.

Achievement: Reduced Inventory: Part is standardized across all models.

Drop in VLOH:

a) Labor reduction – saving $45K.

b) Elimination Of fixture- Two Locating feature eases the assembly saving ~ $5K.

Minimum material wastage: Part designed for optimum thickness.

Additional Support feature:

a) Part is designed in such a way that it gives support not only at both ends of Board, but

also an offset support from fastening line.

b) This proper support for the LED Board eliminates the chance of bending it at different

portions of the Board.

Roles & Responsibilities: To predict & validate the strength of handle as per GE test procedure where 200 lbs. force

is applied.

Achievement: Calculated maximum allowed load for screw(1717.836 lbs.)

Calculated minimum engagement length (0.146”).

Pro-Process drawing for Wall-Oven: Understood systematically all the parts coming under the different models of TDD.

Understood assembly method for each part to make a perfect and simplified drawing.

Single point contact for Control Panel assembly: Handling Café, Monogram, FD control panel assemblies.

Modeled parts with respect to IDO files.

Made FBD for control panel parts.

EMN EMP files update (Led status Board, Knob Encoder, Glass touch Board).

Conducted F&A review every week before DG to discuss TDD interactions.

Value Engineering: Attended teardowns of different products (Hybrid water Heater, Gas Cooktop Teardown,

Single Double wall oven)

In each teardown gave unique concepts for the cost reduction.

Rapid prototyping for heating element and Sail switch.

Tolerance Stack-up Analysis: Learned to Tolerance stack-up analysis.

Understood critical gaps in control panel of Wall oven. Prepared 6 tolerance loops for

critical gaps of control panel assembly.
