announced prior to the commencement of the competition. 11. The captain of the winning team is required to take a result card from the umpire and lake it
to the results table. Please remind captains to do this. 12. If scores are equal at the end of time in the semi-finals then golden goal extra time will be
played. 13. Time keeping will be centrally operated. 14. If there is a draw at the end of 3 minutes extra time in the final, the trophy will be shared.
There will be no golden goal. 15. Should neutral umpires be unavailable, staff will be required to umpire their own teams.
Please be prepared and bring a whistle. 16. Teams will be required to provide their own first aider and first aid kit. 17. Supervising staff should report to the control area upon arrival and register their team. 18. A briefing will be held for all players and staff 10 minutes prior to the advertised rally start
time.
LITTLEHAMPTON AND DISTRICT PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ CROSS COUNTRY EVENT
Highdown Hill – 4.00pm Start. Parking is limited in the car park. There is an overflow car park at the bottom of the drive. Please allow time to park and get to the start. 1. Entries are limited to one boys’ team and one girls’ team per school. Teams may
consist of up to 6 runners. The first four places will count towards the team score. Teams with less than 4 runners will have any “non-runner” counted as a last placed runner.
2. All children must be 11 years or under and capable of completing the hilly 1½ mile course.
3. School colours should be worn. Children may wear spikes as agreed by the LDPSSA.
4. Teachers should collect team envelopes in the car park on arrival. 5. The girls’ race will start first, and the boys’ race about 2 minutes later. The
children will follow the same course which will be clearly marked with flour spots on the ground, and there will be marshals provided by every participating school around the course. At the finish line there will be separate funnels for boys and girls. These will be pointed out before the start.
6. Supporters are asked not to accompany the children around the course, and to keep well clear of the entrance to the funnels at the finish.
7. After the race teachers should enter the full names and results of all runners, but only total the 4 fastest scores, then return the envelopes and finishing cards, with the 4 finishing places of their runners added together. Please print the names CLEARLY so that an accurate results sheet can be drawn up. (See example below)

TOURNAMENT
Venue: Findon Cricket Club, Long Furlong, Findon.
GENERAL RULES:
Teams may be mixed and made up of 8 players per match.
Each team will bowl 5 six-ball overs.
Overs will be delivered from the same end. Batsmen will change ends at the end of
the over.
Matches will ideally last between 30 and 40 minutes.
5 different bowlers must be used- the remaining player will act as wicket keeper.
Players bat until out unless they score 12 runs, after which they must retire. If all
other players are out, they may return to bat until they are out.
Matches will be played on artificial wickets or cut grass wickets. Pitches will be 16
yards long.
There is no gender restriction on the make up of teams.
No balls (above waist height without bouncing / bounce more than twice on way to
stumps) and wides will be worth 4 runs and will not be re-bowled unless they are the last ball of the over.
Schools will be required to provide an umpire for their team – it is suggested that
staff can umpire at square leg for one innings each, but open to negotiation. Players are not required to wear padding. There will be no lbw unless players deliberately kick the ball away. Matches will be played using a kwik cricket ball (No pads, gloves helmets required).
Teams can use normal cricket bats or plastic kwik cricket bats.
BOWLING Bowlers must bowl 6 balls in an over. A bowler may bowl no more than 1 over per match. Bowlers may bowl underarm or overarm, but must notify the umpires of their intention. If a wide or no ball is bowled, 4 runs are awarded to the batting team. The ball will not
be re-bowled unless it is the last one of the over of the innings. Bowling occurs from 1 end of the pitch only – to save time. Each bowling team must complete its’ 5 overs within 20 minutes or less. Failure to do so
will mean a penalty of 10 runs added for every 5 minutes over the completion time.
BATTING
Every run scored is added to the total.
Batsmen must retire if they reach 12 runs, but may return to bat once every one else
has batted.
No runs are deducted for losing wickets.
The remaining (last) not out batsman will bat with a non-striking player. The not out
batsman will always face strike.
FIELDING
The nominated wicketkeeper is not allowed to bowl. Players are not allowed closer than 10 M from the bat if they are in front of the
batsmen.
UMPIRES
Umpires will be provided by Findon Cricket Club.
Teams will be required to have a scorer responsible for their team.
Responsibilities include:
Keeping score
Keeping time of start and end of innings (not to exceed 20 minutes)
