明者，昭明、光明也。

「力臻至善，達至光明」，乃臻明閣的目標。從古至今，文人皆以發揚個人修養懿

德、追求社會至善至美為己任。作為二零一三至二零一四年度香港大學學生會文學

院學生會的候選內閣，我們希望以一系列活動加強文學院學生對社會及文化藝術的

認識，藉以提升個人修養，致力弘揚人文精神，不畏艱辛，止於至善。

此外，我們亦以匯聚文學院學生為目標，冀能凝聚同學們的力量，讓我們團結一

致，為承傳文明社會及其普世價值出一分力。

Introduction to the Proposed CabinetArts Association, H.K.U.S.U., Session 2013-2014Arts Astra‘Per Aspera Ad Astra’ is the motto of the Proposed Cabinet of Session 2013–2014, Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U.

The meaning of our motto is ‘ pursue excellence through hardships’. In society, the intellectuals bear the responsibility of promoting virtues, usually through different forms of arts. Therefore, we believe it is our responsibility, as arts students, to uphold the good virtues of mankind. Through organising various activities, we shall strive to promote the humanistic values of society and pursue moral excellence.

Astra, the Latin word for stars, symbolises brightness. We, Arts Astra, are committed to gathering our fellow members to reach the goal of preserving and promoting virtues in humanity. Determined and devoted, we shall achieve excellence and bring brightness to society.

生會文學院學生會主席一職，成為一位樂於傾聽會員意見，知人善任的主席。

With my past experiences, I believe my strong sense of responsibility and leadership, as well as my passion for serving members of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U., shall competently equip me for the role of the Chairman.

As the Proposed Chairman, I hope to realise our promises and unite my cabinet to sincerely serve every member of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. We shall, with our full effort, pursue excellence, while at the same time promote and protect the humanistic values of society.

Objectives:During my secondary school years, I have always been active in organising activities for my schoolmates. Through holding posts such as the Vice-President of the English Club and an executive committee member of the Sports Committee, I have gained experience and developed leadership and communication skills. I am confident that I can serve each member of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. with both capability and passion.

The responsibilities of the Vice-Chairman, Internal involve communicating with various parties and ensuring smooth running of the association. As the Proposed Vice-Chairman, Internal, I pledge to communicate effectively and have the best interests of the members of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. at heart.

Objectives:Back in secondary school, I was a committee member of Calligraphy Club, a core committee member of the 6th Model Legislative Council, and the Best Councilor as well as the Best Candidate of the 5th Model Legislative Council. With my multitude of experiences and good communication and leadership skills, I am certainly eligible to serve all members of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U.

As university students, we should be well aware of social affairs. Being the Proposed Vice-Chairman, External, internally, I promise to handle the daily affairs of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U.; externally, I would bring members’ opinion into the Union Council to ensure that the voice of every member of the Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U is heard.

My participation in activities like Astronomical Training Programme for Secondary School Students and Young Friends Scheme of the Hong Kong Arts Festival have not only broadened my horizon, but also inspired my pursuit and philosophy of diverse academic exchange.

Objectives:Having been the Secretary of Promotion of the Students’ Association at my secondary school, I have undertaken design work for large joint-school functions such as Christmas Ball and leadership training camps. Considering my proficiency in design, typesetting and publishing as well as my enthusiasm in promotion work, I believe I am fully capable of fulfilling the responsibilities of the Publication Secretary of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U.

以整體文學院學生的福祉為依歸，致力服務文學院學生。

我們承諾會關心會員的需要，積極聽取並接納會員的意見，將會員的聲音向文學院

和香港大學學生會反映。我們亦會舉辦不同的活動，藉以增強會員對文學院學生會

的歸屬感，以至加深會員對社會事務的觸覺。

在未來一年，我們定當努力不懈，不負所望。

Vision of the CabinetAs the Proposed Cabinet of Session 2013–2014, Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U., Arts Astra shall be dedicated to promoting the well-being of arts students and serving them wholeheartedly.

We pledge to understand the needs of our members, listen to and consider their opinions as well as reflect their views to the Faculty of Arts and the Hong Kong University Students’ Union. Through organising various functions, we aim at fostering the sense of belonging of our members in addition to heightening their awareness of different social issues.

In the coming year, we shall do our utmost to meet the expectations of our fellow members.

內務作為香港大學學生會文學院學生會二零一三至二零一四年度候選內閣，在內務上我

們承諾於會務、院務、常務三個範疇為會員服務。

會務

會務上，我們會致力秉持四大綱領。文化方面，我們提議舉辦文藝節以培養會員對

文化藝術的興趣。康樂方面，我們提議舉辦迎新日、迎新營以及高桌晚宴促進會員

之間的交流。福利方面，我們會銷售香港大學學生會文學院學生會的產品，以及積

極聯絡各贊助商，為會員爭取福利。體育方面，我們將會積極鼓勵會員參與院制運

動比賽。

此外，我們會與香港大學學生會文學院學生會學術會保持友好的合作關係，一同為

院務

作為香港大學學生會文學院學生會候選內閣，身負代表全體文學院學生的重任，我

們承諾競選香港大學文學院院務委員會本科生代表，於院務議題上收集同學意見，

並將之反映予香港大學文學院。

常務

常務上，我們會用心確保香港大學學生會文學院學生會的日常運作順暢。我們將確

保活動的質素，並監察各項準備工作的進度。另外，我們會審慎管理會員費。此

外，我們將通過不同方式宣傳活動，並定期更新香港大學學生會文學院學生會的官

方網站。

作為香港大學學生會文學院學生會二零一三至二零一四年度候選內閣，我們承諾以

殷勤及真誠的態度處理內務工作。

Internal AffairsAs the Proposed Cabinet of Session 2013–2014, Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U., we pledge to serve our members based on the following three aspects: association affairs, faculty affairs and general affairs.

Association AffairsTo fulfil the purpose of the Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U., we will plan and organise activities for our members according to four aspects. In the cultural aspect, we propose to hold an Arts Festival to cultivate members’ appreciation for arts. In the social aspect, we propose to hold Orientation Day, Orientation Camp and High Table Dinner as opportunities for members to socialise. In the welfare aspect, we will design and sell society products on behalf of the association, provide services and liaise with sponsors for our activities. In the sports aspect, we will encourage our members to participate in Inter-Faculty Sports Competitions.

Moreover, we will cooperate with the academic societies of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. with the mutual aim of serving arts students and ensuring that opinions can be clearly expressed in the Arts Students’ Council, H.K.U.S.U.

Faculty AffairsAs Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. serves as the official representative body of arts students. It is of utmost importance for us to express opinions to university authorities on behalf of our members. Therefore, we pledge to participate in the election of student representatives of the Board of Faculty of Arts as to express opinions over faculty affairs.

General AffairsTo ensure smooth operation of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U., we will maintain the daily operation of the association with care. We will ensure that the proposed activities are up to standard and monitor the progress of preparation work. Besides, we will manage the membership fees prudently. Moreover, we will publicise proposed events through different means and update the website official website of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. regularly.

As the Proposed Cabinet of Session 2013–2014, Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U., we pledge to handle internal affairs with attentiveness and sincerity.

外務作為香港大學學生會文學院學生會二零一三至二零一四年度候選內閣，在外務上我

們有三個期望。第一，作為香港大學學生會文學院學生會會員和香港大學學生會的

橋樑，重點加強他們的溝通；第二，加強本會會員與校方的交流；第三，鼓勵本會

會員關注社會事務。

學生會事務

在香港大學學生會事務上，我們會勇於表達本會會員對於香港大學學生會的意見，

並定期透過不同管道，例如 Facebook 專頁等傳達香港大學學生會的資訊。當然，我

們會秉承歷屆香港大學學生會文學院學生會的作風，透過評議會制度監察香港大學

學生會的運作。

大學事務

在大學事務上，我們會加強本會和校方的溝通，把校政等港大資訊傳達給本會會

員。另外，新任校長不日履新，我們會密切留意新任校長對於本校發展的藍圖和方

針，在具爭議性的議題上諮詢本會會員的意見，必要時向校方等單位發出聲明，表

達本會及本會會員的立場。

社會事務

對於社會事務，本會將出版刊物，題材為二零一七行政長官選舉辦法和經由香港大

學學生會文學院學生會會員從問卷調查中所選出的時事及社會議題，從而鼓勵本會

會員關注社會事務。

作為香港大學學生會文學院學生會二零一三至二零一四年度候選內閣，我們將以謹

慎和真誠的態度進行香港大學學生會文學院學生會的外務工作。

External AffairsAs the Proposed Cabinet of Session 2013–2014, Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U., we have three major objectives for external affairs: to act as a medium of communication between Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. and the Hong Kong University Students’ Union; to facilitate communication between Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. and the University of Hong Kong; and to encourage students to concern about current affairs.

Union AffairsAs for union affairs, we will comment on the Hong Kong University Students’ Union’s actions so as to express the voices of members. Also, we will publish information concerning the Hong Kong University Students’ Union via different channels, e.g. Facebook. We will definitely continue to supervise the Hong Kong University Students’ Union by representing the association in the Union Council.

University AffairsAs for university affairs, we aim to improve communication between Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. and the University of Hong Kong through putting across information concerning university affairs to our members. With the new Vice-Chancellor leading the University of Hong Kong, we will pay attention to any changes in school policy. When controversial issues arise, we will consider launching petitions to reveal the stance of Arts Association.

Current AffairsAs for current affairs, we will encourage students to concern about social issues by publishing a booklet which aims to inform members of the news of Hong Kong Chief Executive election of 2017 and social issues that they are most interested in.

As the Proposed Cabinet of Session 2013–2014, Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U., we will conduct our external affairs with composure and sincerity.

Welfare for Our MembersThe Society Room of Arts Association, H.K.U.S.U. is located at Room 420, 4/F, Run Run Shaw Tower, Centennial Campus, which is at the end of the corridor outside the Faculty of Arts General Office. The society room opens from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. every teaching day, offering the following welfare and services to our members:
