Igwe Agabi is a weak king who has two daughters, he loves Anyaebere while his queen (lolo) is less fond of her (or “hates her with a passion” as the filmhouse release notes would have it!). Instead, the lolo loves Erimma her other daughter with whom she shares a similarly strong personality. The two strong women plot to fight more forecfully against an invading group, against the advice of Onoja, the oracle who settles disputes.
