Morningview Converse Judy
International fame for the JUDY’SInternational fame for the Judy’s as the title of this article states is an easy line for an American cow family that has done so extremely well in many different herds all around the world. The family started in the United States, but nowadays has different branches across the breed which is creating worldwide interest for Judy genetics.
Speaking to different people about their experiences with the Judy’s there was one consistent line, the Judy’s are giving so many farmers satisfaction and in many different types of herds. Balanced cows with perfect udders, great health traits and huge productions are just a few trademarks the Judy’s excel in.
Morningview… Were it all began The Judy’s have a deep background but started to get global attention at Morningview Holsteins, Durango, Iowa, where this fantastic family was developed. When Tom Schmitt was working a sale in 1990, he came across a Memorial daughter, Walnutt-Knoll Judy. Judy was a just fresh two-year old and already expressed her will to milk. The Schmitts took her home to Morningview where she scored VG-87-USA and after great work as a brood cow she earned the status of GMD and DOM . She was flushed to different sires but it was her Aerostar daughter (Morningview Aerostar Jix VG-87-USA), who gave birth to Morningview Converse Judy EX-93-USA GMD DOM.

Converse Judy did an amazing job as brood cow with plenty of good daughters, her grandson Morningview Ashlar at Semex has been used around the world as a sire of sons and the newest generation of sky-high genomic young sires are getting global popularity.
Tom Schmitt: “Judy was 15 years ahead of her time from a health trait standpoint. They had fantastic udders and were problem free cows, later when health traits came out they confirmed what we had always credited the Judy’s for. The Judy’s are an easy cow family to work with due to their tremendous udders and they just really thrive in any op-eration. One of the best Judy’s ever calved in at our farm is Morningview G Addition VG-87 2yr., with GTPI +2084”
Tom Schmitt Morningview Holsteins
“Judy was 15 years ahead of her time from a health trait standpoint.”
Speaking about popularity, the Judy’s have been making spectacular prices on different auctions around the world with Morningview Tstory Amaya VG-88-USA as the high selling lot when she sold in the Morningview Tribute to Converse Judy Sale in 2009. Amaya was the successful purchase of De-Su Holsteins at the commanding price of $ 75,000! This is a really strong branch of the family going back through Oman, Mtoto and Gibbon on Judy. Again a proof of the Global Fame is the Earnit sister to Toystory Amaya at Majestic Holsteins in North-ern Ireland. Majestic Earnit Annette is the #1 GTPI Earnit daughter in the breed with GTPI +2269!
GOLDEN Silver – 15 x GTPI Top 10!!We could a write a whole story about this branch of the Judy’s! The branch at Heidenskipster Holsteins started with Heidenskipster Aar-on Jabber VG-85 2yr. who was imported as an embryo out of the USA. She is sired by Aaron out of a Manfred dtr of good old Judy. Everything in this combination fell at the right place and Aaron Jab-ber produced the best family in the Heidenskipster herd ever.
Julius Kuipers: “This is the best cow family we have ever worked with. We couldn’t dream that we could be so fortunate with this Aaron Jab-ber. She produced over 400 embryos for us of which many were ex-ported all around the World. In our herd she delivered over 16 milk-ing dtrs of which 12 are scoring VG 2yr. and of which all 16 are scoring VG for udder (VG-87 average). They are so consistent and excel in great type with high milk yields, the udders are a realy trademark for the family.
I can describe many great dtrs of Judy with fantastic dtrs by Mr. Sam, Damion and Garter, but Shottle Silver will write the next story. She is the perfect cow for both the type breeders and the commercial farm-ers. Beside that she is producing the highest Genomic animals every time!”
And that’s how it is, Shottle Silver is a name to write in capital Golden Letters. She has the total combination as she won the Show in Wor-kum as a Jr. Calf and later as a Fresh Jr. 2-Yr. Old with her full sister Heidenskipster Shottle Selma in the Reserve Championship place. (Note: Selma wasn’t tested for Genomics, but her only tested dtr, He-denskipster Planet Melinda ranks in the Top 20 GTPI Planet dtrs in Europe, US 04/11 GTPI +2269)
Julius Kuipers Heidenskipster
"This is the best cow family we have ever worked with."
For Shottle Silver, her huge popularity shot through the roof after her Genomic test came back and her capacity to breed well seems to be endless. If we look at her Genomic transmission, she is a unique cow in the World.Shottle Silver is still Top 5 GTPI Milking Shottle dtr in Europe with GTPI +2179, a number which keeps increasing with every progeny she includes in her index! To date (April ’11), 26 dtrs of Silver have been Genomic tested already, from which she has produced the #2 & #4 Man-O-Man, the #2 Bog-art, the #3, #4 & #9 Legend, the #9 GTPI Milking Roumare, #6 & #7 Alexander, #1, #2, #3 & #6 GTPI Alino and the #1 Laurin in Europe!! With every combination she produced at least one heifer in the Top 10 GTPI ranking for their sire and including Silver herself, we see 15 Top 10 positions, that’s more than 50% of her breeding opportunities!!
Angelo Pozzatti Sire Analyst Semex "Europe has 2 great foundation cows out of the Converse Judy's with Goldwyn Seretta in Italy and Shottle Silver in the Netherlands. Both cows are big, powerfll cows, but very correct and balanced, with very functional udders. The best quality of these two cows is the potential to transmit huge genomic numbers on their progeny (both dtrs and sons). Seretta has 5 Baxter dtrs and 6 Man O Man's with impressive Genomic numbers for production, type and fitness. Silver has several dtrs and sons with Man-O-Man with sons testing close to 2400 GTPI"
Heidenskipster Shottle Silver VG-87-NL 2yr. Amongst the very best GTPI Transmitting cows in the breed!!
Morningview RUW Bertha VG-87-NL 2yr. Judy in RED! Her R&W Destry son is amongst the very highest g RZG bulls in Germany
Morningview G Addition VG-87-USA 2yr. Great new generations of Judy's
Morningview Tstory Amaya VG-88-USA 2yr. One of the greatest Toystory's in the breed! Sold for $ 75,000 to De-Su Holsteins

Top 2 GTPI Baxter dtrs! The August 2010 run was a memorable day for All. Nure Baxter Silvy VG-86-IT EX-MS 2yr., bred by Mr. Giorgio Rossetti from Italy. This Baxter dtr de-buted with her Genomic index, and stood there right on top - 1st place in the European GTPI Rank-ing for cows!
For this fortunate branch of the Judy family we go to Italy. Here the Judy family started with Aurora Nes-ta EX-91-IT, the EXCELLENT Durham dtr Nesta with 7 VG 2yr. Old dtrs in Italy and a grand dtr of good old Judy. This EX-91 Durham dtr is a very du-rable cow, with a wonderful udder which is really productive - she produced over 100.000 kg milk in only 5 lactations. She also bred many great dtrs in Italy with an VG-88 Stormatic which won the Na-tional Show in Cremona 2005, an EX-90 Freelance, VG-88 Outside and more.
Her dtr with the most influence will very likely be La Felce Seretta VG-88-IT (s. Goldwyn), which proved a very successful purchase for All. Nure Holsteins in Italy. Mr. Rosetti from All-Nure Hol-steins purchased Seretta in 2007 when she was one year old. This beautiful dairy and silky Seretta had a natural calf by Jeeves which sold to Cormdale Ge-netics in Canada, 5 high scoring Man-O-Man dtrs at All-Nure Farms and with the combination with Baxter we could really speak about a “Golden Cross”, with 5 milking dtrs, all scoring a minimum of VG 2yr. Old in the Italian scoring system. Both, the World’s #1 & #2 (VG scoring) GTPI Baxter dtrs were a result of this extremely successful cross with respectively All. Nure Baxter Silky VG-85-IT 2yr. and All. Nure Baxter Silvy VG-86-IT EX-MS 2yr., both still keeping a Top 10 position in the European GTPI Top ranking!Sister All. Nure Baxter Silvy sold to the very inter-national syndicate between Diamond Genetics, JK Eder Holsteins (where she is housed), and Vision Genetics from the USA.
Judy in REDFamous as a truly B&W Family, the Judy’s also have their R&W branch. Born out of the American im-port program of the German AI station RUW, this resulted in the R&W heifer Morningview RUW Bertha. Later on, she sold to the Dutch farm Beeze Holsteins, where she scored VG-87 2yr., placed 5th in her section at the Dutch National HHH-show ’10 and has been really successful as a bull dam already with 2 Scientific Destry sons accepted by German AI stations after high Genomic tests. With many different pregnancies with RC and R&W bulls on the way, there will be a great R&W coloured future for the Judy’s overhere.
