WATERCOLOUR SKILLSET Lessons in the very basic watercolour techniques like (graded wash, wet-in-wet, dry-brush, splatter etc.) will be given. These lessons will be followed by an introduction to applied techniques through studies with expressive and observed colour. COLOUR PRIMER Lessons will give a general introduction to colour and the watercolour medium, in particular. Students will explore the medium and develop understanding in the basics of colour composition (hue, value, and intensity), mixing and tone. Collage making will be done for instilling the ideas of colour composition in the students, practically. WATERCOLOUR LESSONS: ELEMENTS & ENTOURAGE Lessons attempt to help students apply the basic skills they’ve learnt in paintings. As students develop a grip over the medium and gain confidence with strokes, they will be given practise in painting simple subjects and still life first, which may further into studies of foliage, landscape, skies and water. STARTING WITH WATERCOLOURS Lessons will be mostly integrated sessions where demonstrations will be followed by students attempting to paint for themselves. For enhanced understanding of colour, medium and ways of expression, practise will be given with monochromatic, dichromatic and trichromatic paintings. Materials required: good quality watercolour papers/book, sable brushes (round and flat-sizes*), tubes of paint (artists’ watercolour*), Additional Supplies: 2B Pencil, erasers, sufficiently large-sized palette (something with a white base is best), water container, box or something to hold supplies, water absorbing towel, some kind of Drawing board (one out of cardboard or other stiff material)
