Greetings!
Welcome to Art for Life’s Sake’s Third Annual Signature Event that reflects the resultsof partnerships and collaborations within the arts community of Memphis. These partners see the value of helping to create conditions to make the artsaccessible to all young people so that they, too, can participate in and benefitfrom the culture of fine arts.
AFLS’s mission is simple: music education and arts access for the underserved. It is hoped that you will join others in supporting this cause so that educationafter school, on weekends, and during the summer will be arts-enriching,inspiring academic success and promoting personal, emotional and socialwellness.
For twenty-two years, AFLS has exposed more than 550 children and youth toSuzuki talent education, the core curriculum. Many of these students haveparticipated in one of the Memphis Youth Symphony programs, succeeded insecondary school and college orchestras, are college graduates and are inrewarding careers. Proceeds from this event will help AFLS continue this impactand expand education and outreach.
On behalf of the AFLS Board of Directors, gratitude is extended to all concertperforming artists, sponsors, donors, elected officials, volunteers and parentsfor embracing the mission and supporting arts education for underservedyoung people in Memphis.
Sincerely,
Hattie Isen, Ph.D.President & CEO 1920 Downing Street
