MINASA FESTIVAL 2015

ON-THE-SPOT POSTER MAKING

COMPETITION

LEVEL I CATEGORY

The competition is open to all 8-12 year old Bulakenyo students/youth. Each

participating school/barangay can send one (1) representative for this category.

PRE-REGISTRATION

Contestants must pre-register with the Bustos Council for Tourism, Culture and the

Arts (BCTCA) Secretar ia t unti l 6 Januar y 2015, Tuesday, 5:00 in the af te rnoon. Pre -

registration requirements are the following:

Letter of endorsement signed by the Principal/Barangay Chairman

MECHANICS

Contest begins at 8:00 in the morning, 13 January 2015, Tuesday, at the Bustos

Heritage Park, Municipal Government Compound, Bustos, Bulacan. On-site

registration starts at 7:00 in the morning of the same date. Contestants will be

given four (4) hours to complete their work.

On registration, each contestant will be given an assigned number. At the end of

the allotted time for the contest, contestant must attach the number on the face of

the painting/poster.

Participants are required to use craypass or oil pastel, on 18 x 24 inches Bristol

Board. The Bristol Board will be provided by the event organizers. Each contestant

is entitled to only one (1) board. Use of ink is not allowed.

Participants must bring and provide their own art materials and painting tools.

Posters should revolve around the theme Minanang Kultura Itaguyod Natin,

Asenso ng Bustos Sama -samang Abut in .

The competition is ON-THE-SPOT; therefore pre-done and pre-prepared work isnot allowed.

Participants name or ANY OTHER WORDS should not be written on the face of

the poster.

Coaches and trainers are not allowed to come close to the contestants during the

contest proper. They will be held in the Aklatang Bayan for the time being.

A board of judges will be se lected for the contes t. It s deci sion shal l be fina l and

unappealable. Criteria for judging is as follows:a. Creativity (40%)refers to the newness and originality of the design

b. Expression of meaning (30%) measures how well the poster makes its own theme

clear to the viewer

c. Overall impression (30%) addresses the poster as a whole and based on the first

glimpse of the finished piece. Winner s will be announced an hour af ter the contest.

Participants will each receive a Certificate of Participation.

First Place Php 3,000.00 + Certificate of Participation + Plaque of Recognition

Second Place Php 2,000.00 + Certificate of Participation + Plaque of Recognition

Third Place Php 1,000.00 + Certificate of Participation + Plaque of Recognition
