Congratulations to everyone celebrating a
birthday this week.
Dear Antonio Park Families,
2014 Prep Enrolments & Prep Transition program
Term 3 sees the school confirming enrolments across
all levels, especially Prep.
Those families who have not enrolled their prep child
for 2014, please do so as soon as possible. It will as-
sist us greatly with the planning, preparation and run-
ning of this year’s Prep Transition program and it will
assist us greatly with planning for 2014.
Thank you To Our Father’s Day Stall Helpers
Last Friday we had a number of parents who helped at
our Father's Day stall; which
was very popular!!!
Thank you to Mandy and Sha-
ron for their organisation and
to their wonderful helpers!!!!!
Visitors to APPS
APPS has a lot of community involvement, ranging
from parents who help in the classroom on a daily ba-
sis, mums and dads assisting in great events such as
our production, the lovely Little APPS to external visit-
ing support teachers. The Department of Education
and Early Childhood requires all schools to have in
place a process where a school has a record of who is
on site during the school day. The purpose of this is for
the safety of students, to ensure students know the
adult on site is on site for approved school work. The
other aspect is that in the event of an emergency evac-
uation, we need to be able to account for everyone.
To be in line with DEECD requirements, when visiting
the school, whether you’re here for a short time, e.g.
dropping your child off to the classroom after an ap-
pointment or here for the day helping, we require you to
sign in and wear a visitor’s badge. Our sign displayed
in the front reception area outlines the rationale and
purpose:
Keeping our students safe. Wearing a visitor’s
badge tells our students and staff that the adult
is on site for approved school business.
We need to be able to account for all persons
on site in case of an emergency evacuation.
The sign in/sign out book enables us to do
this.
Equally important - it is lovely to have a record
of how mums and dads support our programs!
Large scale events such as whole school assembly,
athletic carnivals, etc. do not require people to sign in.
District Athletics
Congratulations to all the students who competed at the
District Athletics on Tuesday. Please refer to the Physical
Education article for further details. Thankyou to Darren Mac
for his wonderful organisation.\

Assistant Principals
Hello from Level 2! 2JS and 2CN are completing their second week of swimming and we
would like to thank all the parents that came along to help out. Production is well underway and we are preparing for our first whole school rehearsal on Friday. There are a few classes that are still waiting
on some costumes so please make sure these continue to come in. There will be a whole school production rehearsal on Tuesday September 17 at the theatre. Notes were sent home with the relevant information and a permission slip. Please return the permission slip to your child’s
teacher as soon as possible.
In maths we are learning about time! We are revising how to read the time on an analogue and digital clock. Later in the week we will be look-ing at calendars and elapsed time. We are encouraging students to wear watches to school so that they can practise reading different times
throughout their day. We are working very hard on our Procedural Writing and have been busy creating many different recipes and instructions. If you make something at home for breakfast, lunch or dinner encourage your child to discuss the
steps and requirements needed. We hope you have had a wonderful week! Level 2 Team
What’s Happening In Level 1?
What’s Happening In Level 2?
As Production is only two weeks away students will be involved in their first whole school rehearsal this Friday. We have been working so hard on our performances and are really looking forward to performing and
watching the show. This week our spelling focus has been on the letter Xx and we have been looking at words with the blend ‘sion’. During maths we have been looking at subtraction and we have been using calculators to ex-plore various skip counting patterns. We have also been looking at worded problems and discussed strategies to solve the problem. We are still working on Procedural Writing this week and students are going
to write a procedure on ‘How to Make a Fruit Salad’. The Level One ‘Walk to Coles’ is next Tuesday and just a friendly remind-er that the permission notes and money needs to be returned for your child to attend. Can you please see your child’s teacher if you can help with the walk to Coles. Next Wednesday we will be having our Big Break-
fast! Have a fantastic weekend Level 1 Team
PRODUCTION NEWS!!! One week to go! Everything’s coming to-gether beautifully and you can feel the ex-citement building. There is a powerful team spirit about the school as everybody strives to make their performance the best it can be. high.

What’s Happening In Level 4?
What’s Happening In Level 3?
What a busy week in Level 3! We have been fitting a lot into the past week with our reading, writing and maths programs as well as swimming and not to mention the most exciting upcoming event, PRODUCTION!
In our level it has been paper warfare lately, so in one place, here are all the
list of reminders:
ICT film making permission (pink notice)
Procedural Writing pizza making note
Production Bus permission (white notice)
Camp attendance slip and expression of interest for parent helpers
Footy lunch order
$55.00 camp deposit due by FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13
We are in the process of organising our school camp to Gundiwindi Lodge in Silvan. Could you please send back the slip to let us know that your child will be coming. It is very important all students attend camp. If you have any
issues or concerns please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s
teacher.
If you are interested in attending camp please fill in the blue slip and return to your child’s teacher. We will aim to have the parent help list finalised by the end of term to enable you to arrange time off work. It is a lot of hard work and not much time to sit and relax. However it is a fantastic and rewarding experience. We are looking forward to
hearing from you.
All information will come in due course, please stay tuned to the newsletter for updates on camp. Lastly on camp, next term we will be holding an information night where all families, both students and parents, are expected to attend. This will give you plenty of important
camping information.
Level 3 Team
There is lots going on in Level 4 at the moment! The students have been undertaking different electricity experiments to coincide with our Procedural Writing program. This integrated approach to learning allows the students hands on science experience and the opportunity to transfer this into their
own writing. Production is creeping up very quickly and everything is coming together nicely. Thank you to the many parents involved for all their help and to Mr. S for his hard work directing the show. It’s going to be fantastic! Check out all
the photos of our recent activities.
District Athletics Day What a gorgeous day we had for District Athlet-ics on Tuesday! Level 4 students attended the carnival with the sun shining and our students ready for a fun filled day. Congratulations to all of the students who participated, you all tried your very best and represented your school brilliantly! Further congratulations to the stu-dents who will progress to the next stage of competition (please see Mr. Mac’s inclusion for
further details). We were so proud of the students’ sensational behaviour and enthusiasm on the day. Antonio Park students should be very proud of them-selves! Thank you to the parents who either came to help or support the students involved and to Mr. Mac for his sensational preparation and organi-
sation. We couldn’t do it without you! Level 4 Swimming Program Just a reminder to families that swimming payments are due back as soon as possible. Medical forms will be sent home today for participating students. If you did not receive a form and will be joining the program, please see your
classroom teacher for a copy.
Year 6 Graduation Just a couple of important dates for our Year 6 families in the lead up to the end of the year. Graduation will be held on the final Tuesday of Term 4, December 17. The class of 2013 graduation photo will be taken on Monday October 21. This will also be the date of sports photographs for all Level 4
students. Level 4 Production Just a few quick messages for our upcoming ‘A Kidsummer Night’s Dream’ production, to be held on Tuesday September 17 and
Wednesday September 18. We would really appreciate any offers of help for face painting. Please see your classroom teacher if you are available on either of
the performance nights to lend a hand. Level 4 students require ‘blacks’ for performance: black t-shirt (short
or long sleeve) and leggings/black pants. A notice to families regarding performance nights will be distributed next week. We really appreciate the help of families to ensure stu-dents arrive at the theatre on time and with the appropriate make up.
Please refer to this notice for all information. Have a wonderful end to the week! Kate, Mitch, Clive, Rachel and Karen Level 4 Team

school walk-a-thon! The date is being finalised and details are being nutted out but keep your eyes peeled for more information in the coming weeks. Sponsorship forms will be coming home before the end of term so you have the holidays to find as many family, friends and neighbours to donate or sponsor an
amount per lap. The event will be taking place on the school oval over the course of the day with a sausage sizzle lunch and other treats. There may even be some prizes up for
grabs!!
FATHER’S DAY STALL THANK YOU A really big thank you to all the parent helpers who helped us run the Father's Day Stall last Friday at school. The day of the stall is always a big day, getting through 22 classes and making sure no child misses out on purchasing a gift for their Dad, Grandad, Step dad, etc. Without the support of the school community we are unable to run this event, so thank you so much. After 3 fun years of managing the Mother's Day and Father's Day stalls, we are passing on our baton. We wish Caitlin, who is taking over the stall, the very best of luck and please keep supporting Caitlin in the coming year. Best wishes Sharon Stuchbery & Mandy Jamieson PS: If you still have an IOU to settle from the stall, please pay at the office as soon as possible.
