What’s Happening in Level 2?

What’s Happening in Level 1?

This week in Level One we had our first session of PMP. Students rotated between different activities, developing a range of skills. During PMP sessions students complete activities in bare feet. We ask that girls don’t wear tights on their PMP day, as it can be a little tricky getting them back on warm legs at the end of the session. A big thank you to all the parents who will be helping over the course of the term, this program requires a lot of support to be successful! Thank you! Our spelling focus this week is on the letter ‘w’ and the blend ‘ou’. Next week the letter is ‘c’ and ‘oi’. A new writing display has gone up in the

We have just finished our persuasive writing unit and all students have argued their points well!! There plenty of great examples on the Level 2 writing wall next to the library as well as in every class. Feel free to come in and have a look. This week we have begun nar-rative writing and there have already been plenty of creative ideas being

thrown around in our pre-writing sessions. Our ‘Under the Sea’ unit has fascinated many students and they all have lots of questions that we will answer over the term. If you have any re-

sources that are related to marine life, we would love to

have them in your child’s class. In mathematics for the next 2 weeks we are concentrat-ing on time. Any chance you can give your child to tell the time, especially on an analogue clock will be benefi-

cial for their learning.

Have a great week, The Level 2 Team

Our Level 4 students are having a wonderful time in Canberra and will have lots to report for next week’s newsletter.

Parents are asked to visit our website after 3pm on Friday afternoon for a more up to date estimated arrival time.

corridor opposite the staffroom. Have a read of the persuasive writing about the best celebration. During Maths this week we have been focusing on number and connecting numerals, names and quantities. Next week we will be focusing on time; learning about days of the week, months of the year and connecting familiar events to each. Have a great week! Level One

What’s Happening in Level 4?

Page 3: Around Antonioantoniops.vic.edu.au/files/2914/2975/5381/2015NO009.pdf · 2015-04-23 · Cook, Michael Howse, Darren McMenaman; and our parents: Matt Harvey, Brett Livermore, Yalcin

What’s Happening in Level 3?

Level 3 are right back in the swing of things. We have kicked off our Narrative writing this week and are underway learning about Division in Numeracy. CAMP Excitement is building for Camp Rumbug. Please remember to pay your deposit as soon as possible or notify your teacher if your child will not be attend-ing. We need to finalise numbers so we can organise all of the fun stuff! Please also return your medical form and PG movie permission form as soon as

possible. LITERATURE BOOKS Literature books are an exciting way to expose your children to a range of texts in a supportive, group environment. It is very important that your child

brings their literature book and reader’s notebook to school EVERY day. It should live in their communication wallet unless they are using it. INQUIRY Thank you to those families that have started bringing in supplies for our “Can the Force be With You?” Inquiry unit. Think Simple Machines: levers, pul-

leys, wheels, wedges, axles, screws and inclined planes. Please keep them coming:

WRITING Have a look at our writing display just outside the staff room. Where would you prefer to live … in the City or the Country? Can you be persuaded to

change your mind? HOMEWORK

Don’t forget, homework is due tomorrow, Friday 24th April. Remember to hand in your homework book and your Reader’s Notebook. Have a great week. Rachel, Alec, Danielle, Jana, Natalie and Kylie The Level 3 Team

What’s Happening in Art?

Library News

As we all know, on Thursday 7th May we will be running our annual Junior and Senior Cross Countrys. With all school events we encourage and welcome parental involvement. If any parents are available to assist on the day (Juniors 9:00-11:30 and Seniors 12:00-1:40), please inform Mr Mac or Miss French as soon as possible. Please note that it is essential for all parent helpers to have a current Working With Children Check please.

In commemoration with the centenary of the ANZACS, students have been reading various Anzac Day books during their library sessions this week. We are very fortunate to have a wide selection of Anzac themed resources at our school to help us remember the Australians who served and died in the war.

Lest we forget.

APPS ANZAC WALLS OF REMEMBRANCE All Level 2, 3 and 4 students have been creating red poppies that are displayed on the art studio walls and outside the library. Level 3 and 4 students were able to choose their own materials and created individual poppy styled flowers. Level 2 students cut paper plates and painted these to create their poppies. Level 1 students have been busy since last term creating sunflowers by printing with sponges and their handprints. MIRO ARTWORK Level 4 students also have artwork influenced by the Spanish Surrealist artist Joan Miro – these are on display in the art studio, the Library and the towers in the foyer and Library corridor. Please call in and have a look at the amazing work created by your children. Janet George Visual Arts teacher

It has been a lot quieter than usual at before and after school care, without the Level 4s. We hope they are having great time and look forward to their return next week. What's on this week: Craft: This week we have been getting creative with paints and pastels to create self portraits and using our imagination. We also have new hama beads, which has been very popular. Cooking: We made a lovely banana cake on Tuesday which always makes the place smell great. We've also made popcorn and other yummy treats. Inside: There has been lots of imaginative play as we have introduced some new play money, which has created much excitement. We also have all our regular activities of Lego and plenty of games for everyone to use and play with. Outdoors: With the weather getting colder everyone is keeping warm outside by running around and playing football and soccer. If you have any inquiries or questions please call us on 0412 545 042, alternatively you can call customer service on 1300 105 343 or visit our website at www.campaustralia.com.au
