It’s simple to install with these easy steps:

How to install the SeismicSeparation Joint Clip.Step One: Install suspension systemcompletely, in a conventional manner.

Step Two: Decide upon which run(s)of Main Runners to create the seismicseparation. NOTE: the Seismic JointClip allows for cross-tees to movealong the axis of the cross-tees.NOTE: Divide

Step Three: Attach two adjacentsides of each section of the dividedceiling to the structure. Where thesesections touch the wall theattachment may be by riveting to thewall molding or by means of theBERC2 clip with a tight screw.Sections that do not touch walls ontwo adjacent sides must be braced tostructure.

Step Four: Cut XL through the enddetails of cross-tees inserted intoMain Runner designated for theSeismic Separation. NOTE: Thisshould be done one intersection at atime or the system willfall apart.

Step Five: Assemble the two sides ofJoint clip into one unit.

Step Six: Snap completed assemblyover the bulb of the Main Runner atthe intersection of the cross-tees.

Step Seven: Insert a long #10screw through slot in clip, into theupper XL clip stake hole. Use verticalstamp mark below the horizontal slotto properly position the screw withinthe clip. Install one screw from eachside of the assembled clip to hold theproper shape. Do not allow screwthreads to strip out the stake hole.
