The Prospect Park YMCA is Here for Good every day of the year, and nevermore so than in challenging and uncertain times by continuing to offer life-enhancing Y programs to our community. With over 130 years of experienceand an additional location at the Park Slope Armory we are committed to you.

Last year we reached over 35,000 people, more than to 12,000 of whom werelocal youth and teens. We are so grateful to be able to offer programs andparticipation to our community despite their ability to pay. In 2010 every childin our Lisa Beth Gerstman Special Needs Camp participated on at least 50%financial aid; we enrolled more than 900 children in our after school programsat 11 locations throughout Brooklyn completely free of charge; we had theability to provide financial assistance to hundreds of members in financial cri-sis; and have launched our new teen center.

Without the support of our community through the Strong Kids Campaign noneof this would have been possible. Your support of the YMCA Strong KidsCampaign gives children and families, in our community, the chance to growstronger in spirit, mind and body.

This year we have seen tremendous growth in membership granting us thepriviledge to start more children and families off on the right foot throughaccess to healthy lifestyle programs at the Prospect Park Y. Please considerinvesting in our children and community by making a generous donation to theStrong Kids Campaign this year.

To find out how you can contribution to the Strong Kids Campaign and learnmore about other giving opportunities please contact Megan King, Director ofFund Development and Communications at (212) 912-2371 or via email [email protected].

Thank you for helping to build strong kids, strong families and strong commu-nities!

All donations to the Prospect Park YMCA Strong Kids Campaign are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Strong Kids Testimonial

“This was my first year inthe teen programs. So farI’ve participated in Youth &Government, Teens Take theCity, and FutureWorks. I’vetaken a lot from these pro-grams- new friends, eye-opening experiences andopportunities to open doorsthat wouldn’t otherwise beopened. My favorite experi-ence was taking a trip toAlbany to defend a bill I hadwritten. The weekend wascompletely run by teens andwe had the opportunity todefend and fight for what isimportant to us. I’ve already started recommending the programto friends and I can’t wait for next year’s trip to Albany.”

-Alvin

The Strong Kids Campaign provides teens like Alvin theopportunity to participate in challenging, educational and fun

programs that are absolutely free of charge.
