Arming David: The Church of Satan’s

Connection to the Creation of Israel

Azazael)

It may surprise many to discover the Church of Satan’s role in the founding of Israel. I know it

surprised me.

Church of Satan-founder Anton LaVey, whose parents had relocated to California from the

gangster plagued streets of Chicago, himself has led an event-filled colorful life (as noted in LaVey’s

autobiography, one of LaVey’s uncle’s Las Vegas ‘business’ associates was Mafia mobster Bugsy Siegel)

(Author’s Note: These were the days when the United States government had formed a secret

partnership with a secret society commonly known as the Mafia in order to carry out the CIA’s Executive

Action program designed to root out unfriendly foreign governmental leaders such as Communist

dictator Fidel Castro [See ‘Operation Mongoose’] during the frigid days of the Cold War).

As we learn from Anton LaVey’s biography: “Through friends, he (Anton LaVey) became

involved with militant Israeli groups, some of which were running guns to the newly emerged nation

(of Israel) – organizations with names like Betar (the Betar Movement was a Youth Movement

organization established in Latvia by Ze’ev Jabotinski), Hashomer Hatzair (an Austro-Hungary Zionist

Youth Movement group also established by Ze’ev Jabotinski. Ze’ev, aka Vladimir Jabotinski, was a

Russian-Jewish Bolshevik who moved to Turkey in 1908 A.D. where he edited a newspaper named

Young Turk, the propaganda mouthpiece of the Young Turks Youth Movement group. It was a member

of the Young Turks who would assassinate the heir to the Austrian throne, the Archduke Ferdinand, this

being the catalyst cited in primary school American history books as sparking World War I, leading to the

carefully orchestrated defeat of the declining Ottoman Empire, an event which gave birth to the British

Mandate of Palestine, to the issuance of the Balfour Declaration, the institution of the United Nations

Partition Plan for Palestine and eventually to the creation of the nation state of Israel), Poale Zion (the

Jewish Social Democratic Labour Party), the Stern Gang (led by Yitzhak Shamir who became Prime

Minister of Israel in 1983 A.D.), and Irgun” (Irgun [led by Menacham Began] would morph into Likud, the

political party of current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Irgun members were incorporated

into the Israel Defense Forces [IDF] at the start of the 1948 A.D. Arab-Israeli War which led to Israeli

independence and statehood),** at one point meeting, presumably during the course of these gun-

running activities of which LaVey himself describes, “Asaf Dayan, (Hollywood) actor son of Israel’s

legendary Defense Minister Moshe Dayan (primarily serving under former Haganah high

commander/Israeli P.M. Levi Eshkol)” who “extended an invitation for me (Anton LaVey) to stay at his

family home in Tel Aviv whenever I wished.” Of an interesting note, French film maker Roman

Polanski’s (whose wife was murdered by individuals associated with the Church of Satan) friend and

fellow film director Arnon Milchan was an Israeli spy/arms smuggler recruited by Haganah agent Shimon

Peres. Amongst the defense related procurements of Arnon Milchan was the technology necessary for

the creation of Israeli nuclear armaments through Israel’s Bureau of Scientific Relations. In 1986 A.D.

U.S. Navy Intelligence officer Johnathon Pollard would be arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment

for his role in providing nuclear secrets to the Israelis. Arnon Milchan worked in this regard under Israeli

spymaster/fellow London School of Economics-attendee Rafi Eitan [See Milchan’s book Confidential: The

Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon; likely his friend Roman Polanski, husband of murdered

starlet Sharon Tate, was himself a French agent as the French were major Israeli arms suppliers during

the 1950s A.D. It is not uncommon to find arms dealers working under cover of the film industry within

our sordid little story], the later Israeli Prime Minister then responsible for Haganah arms purchases

[Shimon Peres is a first cousin to Warner Bros.© contract actress Lauren Bacall, wife (from 1945 until his

death in 1957 A.D.) of Warner Bros.© contract actor Humphrey Bogart (Humphrey Bogart appears in a

number of John Huston-directed films with both John Huston and his father Walter Huston and in the

Nicholas Ray-directed film In a Lonely Place [1950 A.D.]. Like Anton LaVey, Nicholas Ray ties to the

Samson De Brier magic goup as well). Humphrey Bogart was a friend of Rat Pack members Frank

Sinatra, Dean Martin, Church of Satan-member Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. As we

learn from Wikipedia: “Bogart was a founding member and the original leader, until his death, of the Rat

Pack. In the spring of 1955, after a long party in Las Vegas with Frank Sinatra (Frank Sinatra was also [as

detailed below] involved in Israeli gun-running activities), Judy Garland, her husband Sid Luft, Mike

Romanoff and wife Gloria, (British Intelligence agent/actor) David Niven, Angie Dickinson and others,

Lauren Bacall surveyed the wreckage of the party and declared, ‘You look like a goddamn rat pack.’”

(See p.504 Bogart by Sperman and Lax). Humphrey Bogart’s mother, the Rochester, N.Y.-born

commercial illustrator Maud Humphrey (whose mother’s maiden name was Frances V. Dewey

Churchill), had studied art under artist James Abbott McNeill Whistler whose own notable friends

included Oscar Wilde whose wife is known to have been a member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden

Dawn]. Haganah was the forerunner of the Israel Defense Forces [IDF]. Roman Polanski’s wife Sharon

Tate, the daughter of an Army Intelligence officer, would be murdered by known Church of Satan

attendees [a church attended by various members of American Army Intelligence and headed up by a

professed Israeli arms smuggler whose own number two man was a high ranking Army Intelligence

officer as well. Even Church of Satan-member Kenneth Anger’s former neighbor Jack Parsons (who like

Anton LaVey and Kenneth Anger was a Samson De Brier magic salon attendee. We may add Henry

Miller’s friend Anais Nin to this list as well, as author Henry Miller, as the reader shall soon discover, was

directly involved in providing weapons to the Israelis as well) had been accused of passing top secret

documents to the Israelis]. Methinks the madame Tate knew too much concerning covert Israeli arms

smuggling/spying activities and needed to be silenced. This is what Charles Manson meant when he

explained concerning the Manson Family murders: “Manson himself has alleged that the ‘true’ motive

remains secret, that a major scandal would erupt if it was revealed.” Perhaps this scandal involves Israeli

gun-running/spying activities. Please read on…

That the star players within our drama were involved in Israeli gun-running/spying activities there is no

doubt. From a JTA© article entitled ‘Sinatra reportedly helped run guns to Israel’ (February 14, 2008):

“Frank Sinatra reportedly played a role in smuggling guns to Israel in 1948. Brian Greenspun, a son of

Hank Greenspun, the Las Vegas media and real estate magnate who helped lead the gun smuggling

effort (Hank Greenspun was leader of the West Coast effort to arm various Israeli independence groups

including Haganah typically by shipping weapons to Israel via Mexico and Nicaragua [In Nicaragua these

efforts were facilitated by the American-educated dictator Anastazio Somoza (Somoza received his

American education at Peirce College in Philadelphia, PA, Simon Guggenheim’s alma mater. Simon

Gugenheim was the brother of Daniel Guggenheim, founder of the Daniel Guggenheim Fund for the

Promotion of Aeronautics which provided the grant which allowed for the creation of the Guggenheim

Aeronautical Laboratory at CalTech [GALCIT] which was headed by Theodore von Kármán. It was under

GALCIT’s JATO [Jet-Assisted Take-Off] program that the Jet Propulsion Laboratory [which employed Jack

Parsons] was established under contract with the United States Army in 1943 A.D.). See ARMING

Ricky-Dale Calhoun]. Many of the individuals at the heart of this illegal weapons procurement operation

[which appears to have been CIA-sanctioned through Kuhn, Loeb and Co.] had known Daniel

Guggenheim’s niece Peggy Guggenheim from their time in France [which itself appears to have largely

represented an early pre-CIA U.S. Intelligence network]), related the account Wednesday night to a

Washington fund-raising dinner for Israel’s Rabin Center, an institute that promotes democracy and

pluralism.” In fact, Hank Greenspun: “During World War II, while stationed in Northern Ireland,

Greenspun met his wife, Barbara, at a dinner party hosted by Maureen Black (née Peres) daughter of

(the legendary music producer and record distributor) Harold Peres of Solomon and Peres (a UK and

Ireland-based company which was later acquired by, you guessed it, Decca Records) and wife of British

businessman, Roy Keith Black. As a young man, Greenspun became closely involved with Benjamin

‘Bugsy’ Siegel (a business associate of Church of Satan-founder Anton LaVey’s Mafia associated uncle)

and the work he was doing to reopen his Flamingo casino (along with Jewish Mafia member Mickey

Cohen). Greenspun worked as the Flamingo’s publicity agent. Following the murder of Siegel in Los

Angeles in 1947, Greenspun renewed his interest in his Jewish heritage and became a prominent figure

in supporting the struggle to establish the State of Israel. In 1947, when the Haganah was already in

armed conflict with Arab forces, Greenspun shipped machine guns and airplane parts to that

organization (which later became the core of the Israel Defense Forces). This was a violation of the U.S.

Neutrality Acts, a crime for which Greenspun was arrested and ultimately convicted on July 10, 1950. He

was fined $10,000 but received no prison time (Bugsy Siegel’s Mafia partner-in-crime, Mickey Cohen,

had claimed to have raised $1,000,000 for Haganah [Ibid p.31]. He would be imprisoned for tax evasion

in 1951 A.D.). On October 18, 1961, President John F. Kennedy granted Greenspun a pardon. Upon

Greenspun’s death in 1989, former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres called Greenspun ‘a hero of our

As the JTA© article goes on to explain: “Greenspun, who said he heard the story from his father, later

confirmed it with Teddy Kollek, the late Jerusalem mayor (himself an ex-Mossad Israeli Intelligence

agent). According to the account, which Greenspun said he was making public for the first time, Kollek—

who was in 1948 Israel’s point man heading the arms smuggling effort in New York—got to know the

singer while staying in Hotel 14, atop the old Copacabana nightclub where Sinatra (with known Mafia

connections) headlined” (“The [Copacabana] club opened November 10, 1940 at 10 East 60th Street in

New York City. Although Monte Proser’s name was on the lease, he had a powerful partner: mob boss

Frank Costello.” – Wikipedia: Copacabana (nightclub)). Teddy Kollek was a British MI5 asset assigned to

the British Mandate’s Jewish Agency for Palestine (which Chairman was Poale Zion-member David Ben-

Gurion) and a member of Haganah alongside Moshe Dayan, whose son, Hollywood actor Asaf Dayan,

was a friend of Church of Satan-founder Anton LaVey (Frank Sinatra was a member of the Rat Pack

[along with U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s brother-in-law, Peter Lawford], as was Church of Satan-

member Sammy Davis Jr. It is in fact noted in LaVey’s own biography that: “Through friends, he [Anton

LaVey] became involved with militant Israeli groups, some of which were running guns to the newly

emerged nation [of Israel].” Apparently, these are the “friends” of whom LaVey himself speaks [Asaf

Dyan it is interesting to note appears in John Huston’s 1969 A.D. film A Walk with Love and Death]).

Of an interesting note, Frank Sinatra stars in the 1966 A.D. movie Cast a Giant Shadow filmed on

location in Israel celebrating the life of the Haganah-connected (he served as a Haganah military advisor)

West Point-educated Romanian-Jewish U.S. Army Colonel-turned-Israeli Defense Forces Brigadier

General Mickey Marcus who spent much of his life during the 1930s as a New York Assistant U.S.

Attorney prosecuting gangsters such as Lucky Luciano (assisting John Foster Dulles’ close associate New

York District Attorney Thomas E. Dewey (recall Humphrey Bogart’s mother’s maiden name was Frances

V. Dewey Churchill) whose mafia prosecutions resulted in the conviction of Mafioso Charles ‘Lucky’

Luciano) as well as serving as Commissioner of the New York City Department of Corrections (and as

such one of the individuals involved in Operation Underworld). As a Colonel in the U.S. Army, Mickey

Marcus would serve as the head of the Pentagon’s War Crimes Division for the post-WWII Nuremberg

Trials and as U.S. Secretary General of occupied Berlin. No doubt Mickey Marcus played a prominent

role in this group’s illicit Israeli gun-running activities. Mickey Marcus would die by friendly fire in Israel

in 1948 A.D. during Israel’s war for independence. Scandalous information and implications indeed.

Other IDF foreign volunteers of Israel’s war for independence (known as ‘Machal’) include former

RAF/U.S. Army Air Force airman Milton Rubenfeld (the father of Hollywood actor Paul ‘Pee-wee

Herman’ Reubens; Milton Rubenfeld appears in Paul Reuben’s film Big Top Pee-wee [1988 A.D.]) and the

Jewish Lockheed Martin-employee Al Schwimmer, a former member of General ‘Hap’ Arnold’s U.S. Army

Air Force Air Transport Command (an organization at the forefront of U.S. Lend-Lease operations during

WWII) and later CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries, Israel’s primary manufacturer of military and civilian

aircraft and weaponry. As we learn from Wikipedia: “During Israel’s War of Independence, Schwimmer

used his World War II experience and his contacts (in the U.S. Army Air Force) to smuggle surplus war

planes to Israel. Using circuitous routes (through Panama), he also recruited the pilots and crews to fly

the planes to Israel (some of which: “…took off for Israel [on July 14, 1948 A.D., the day Israel issued its

Declaration of Independence] with full bomb loads, bombing Cairo on the way.” - ARMING DAVID: THE

HAGANAH’S ILLEGAL ARMS PROCUREMENT NETWORK IN THE UNITED STATES, 1945–49). Many of these men became the

nucleus of the Israel Air Force.” Convicted of violating U.S. Neutrality Acts in 1950 A.D., Al Schwimmer

would later receive a presidential pardon from U.S. President Bill Clinton. No doubt a number of

RAF/U.S. Army Air Force airmen within our story were involved in these clandestine arms smuggling

efforts. Annapolis-grad Paul Schulman was another high-ranking American volunteer who participated

in Israel’s war for independence. As we learn from his obituary in The New York Times: “Mr. Shulman, a

New York native, was the deputy commander of a Navy destroyer in World War II. He left the United

States Navy in 1945. He immediately joined the effort to smuggle refugees and arms from Europe into

Palestine, which was administered under a British mandate. In November 1948, six months after the

founding of Israel, Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion asked Mr. Shulman, who was then 26, to set up

Israel’s Navy. Fighting for control of territory continued until January 1949. In his nine months as

commander, he laid the ground for Israel’s modern navy.” Amongst the ships in Schulman’s nascent

Israeli navy was the S.S. Ben Hecht named after Fortean Club founding-member Ben Hecht (several

members of the Fortean Club’s San Francisco chapter would become part of the Church of Satan’s inner

circle), a Jewish Academy Award-winning Hollywood screenwriter whose credits include Gone with the

Wind: “From 1918 to 1919 Hecht served as war correspondent in Berlin for the Chicago Daily News.

According to Siegel, "Besides being a war reporter, he was noted for being a tough crime reporter while

also becoming known in Chicago literary circles."… In Chicago, he also met and befriended Maxwell

Bodenheim, an American poet and novelist, known as the King of Greenwich Village Bohemians, and

with whom he became a lifelong friend (“Bodenheim and Ben Hecht met in Chicago and became literary

friends about 1912…Together they founded The Chicago Literary Times (1923–1924). The Chicago

literary group also included Carl Sandburg, Theodore Dreiser [Theodore Dreiser, a one-time president of

Charles Fort’s Fortean Society in New York, was a friend of John Cowper Powys who was a friend of

Aleister Crowley’s friends Isidora Duncan and Louis T. Wilkinson (Powys also had ties to author Henry

Miller). The Fortean Society membership rolls included Ben Hecht, Alexander Woollcott, Booth

Tarkington and H. L. Mencken], Edgar Lee Masters, Witter Bynner, Arthur Davison Ficke, Floyd Dell,

Vachel Lindsay and Sherwood Anderson.” – Wikipedia: Maxwell Bodenheim. Members of the Fortean

Society would later make up the inner-circle membership rolls of Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan)… Ben

Hecht’s activism began when he met Peter Bergson. Hecht wrote in his book Perfidy that he used to be a

scriptwriter until his meeting with Bergson, when he accidentally bumped into history - i.e. the burning

need to do anything possible to save the doomed Jews of Europe (paraphrase from Perfidy). After

meeting Bergson, Hecht dedicated himself to working with his rescue group, and after the war (WWII)

ended he continued work for the establishment of the State of Israel. He wrote the screenplay for the

Bergson Group’s production of A Flag is Born, which opened on September 5, 1946 at the Alvin

Playhouse (the Alvin Theater, since renamed the Neil Simon Theater) in New York City (located at 250

West 52nd Street in Midtown Manhattan). The play starred Marlon Brando and Paul Muni during its

various productions. The proceeds from the play were used to purchase a ship that was renamed the

S.S. Ben Hecht, which carried 900 refugees to Palestine in March, 1947. The British Navy captured the

ship after it docked and sent 600 of its passengers to detention camps in Cyprus. The S.S. Ben Hecht later

became the flagship of the Israeli Navy. Six months after the establishment of Israel by the United

Nations, Bergson and Hecht officially dissolved the organization which produced the fund-raising play,

followed by a dinner in New York City where Menachem Begin appeared, saying, “I believe that my

people, liberated and re-assembled in its country, will contribute its full share toward the progress of all

mankind ... [and predicted] that all of Palestine eventually would be free and that peace and

brotherhood would prevail among Arabs and Jews alike” (‘insert uncontrollable laughter here’; Ben

Hecht also staged “…a historical pageant about the Jews, entitled We Will Never Die” [involving and

featuring performers including Frank Sinatra, Warner Bros.© contract actor Paul Muni, Burgess

Meredith (the ‘Penguin’ from T.V.’s Batman© who ties to Sharon Tate’s murdered friend Jay Sebring),

Sylvia Sidney (actress/wife of Louis Adler, director of A Flag is Born [produced by Hillel Kook]. His sister

Stella Adler, a former teacher in Ben Hecht’s friend Erwin Piscator’s workship at the CIA-associated New

School for Social Research during the 1940s, operated the NYU-affiliated Stella Adler Studio of Acting

attended by Marlon Brando), Edward G. Robinson including a musical score by Kurt Weil, staged by

acclaimed Broadway producer Moss Hart, in other words, all the usual people connected to all the usual

suspects] which included a direct “appeal for a Jewish army” [See City of Nets p.360]. This army of

course needed arms, and these guns were supplied by other associates of Anton LaVey). Thanks to his

fund-raising, speeches, and jawboning, Sternlicht writes, “Ben Hecht did more to help Jewish refugees

from the Holocaust and to ensure the survival of the nascent State of Israel than any other American

Jew in the twentieth century.” As much as anything, it was the abiding love of his Jewish parent and

Rose Hecht that motivated the writer to become arguably “the most effective propagandist” …

Underworld (Hecht’s 1927 A.D. classic film noir screenplay) was the story of a petty hoodlum with

political pull; it was based on a real Chicago gangster Hecht knew. The film began the gangster film

genre that became popular in the early 1930s.” – Wikipedia: Ben Hecht. Concerning Ben Hecht’s

associate Peter Bergson: “Hillel Kook…also known as Peter Bergson…was a Revisionist Zionist activist,

politician, and prominent member of the Irgun…Hillel Kook was born in Lithuania in 1915, the son of

Rabbi Dov Kook, the younger brother of Abraham Isaac Kook, the first Ashkenazi chief rabbi of the

British Mandate in Palestine. In 1924, his family immigrated to Palestine, where his father became the

first Chief Rabbi of Afula. Hillel Kook received a religious education in Afula and at the Religious Zionist

Yeshiva Merkaz HaRav in Jerusalem and was an unregistered student of Jewish Studies at the Hebrew

University. While there, he became a member of Sohba, or ‘Comradeship,’ a group of students who

would later become prominent in the Revisionist movement, including (Commander in Chief of the

Irgun) David Raziel and Avraham Stern (Avraham Stern was a leader of the militant Zionist group Lehi,

also known as the Stern Gang [it was members of Lehi who would in 1944 A.D. assassinate (Guiness beer

company director) Walter Guinness, 1st Baron Moyne who was serving as British minister of state in the

Middle East. Walter Guiness was a political ally of Winston Churchill]). Church of Satan-founder Anton

LaVey as he notes in his autobiography was associated with members of both the Irgun and the Stern

Gang. Another prominent Lehi leader named Yitzhak Shamir who was involved in these endeavors

would become Prime Minister of Israel in 1983 A.D.). Kook joined the pre-state Haganah militia in 1930

following widespread Arab riots. In 1931, Kook helped found the Irgun, a group of militant Haganah

dissidents, and fought with them in Palestine through most of the 1930s. He served as a post

commander in 1936, and eventually became a member of the Irgun General Headquarters. In 1937

Kook began his career as an international spokesperson for the Irgun… He first went to Poland, where he

was involved in fundraising and establishing Irgun cells in Eastern Europe. It was there that he

met…Ze'ev Jabotinsky, and became friends with his son Ari. At the founders’ request, Kook traveled to

the United States with Jabotinsky in 1940, where he soon served as the head of the Irgun…in America,

following the elder’s death in August. This assignment was clandestine, and Kook publicly denied he was

affiliated with the Irgun many times while in America. While in America, Kook led a group of Irgun

activists under the pseudonym ‘Peter Bergson,’ supposedly to avoid embarrassing his family (particularly

his famous uncle Abraham Isaac) (the renowned Torah scholar and Kabalist Abraham Isaac Kook) with

his political activities. The name ‘Bergson Group’ or ‘Bergsonites’ eventually became used to refer to all

the members of Kook’s immediate circle. The Bergson Group was composed of a hard-core cadre of ten

Irgun activists from Europe, America and Palestine, including Aryeh Ben-Eliezer, Yitzhak Ben-Ami,

Alexander Rafaeli, Shmuel Merlin, and Ari Jabotinsky (the son of Youth Movement leader Ze'ev

Jabotinsky). The Bergson Group was closely involved with various Jewish and Zionist advocacy groups,

such as the American Friends for a Jewish Palestine (the son of the founder of this group, J Street

executive-director Jeremy Ben-Ami, served as U.S. President Bill Clinton’s Deputy Domestic Policy

Adviser) and the Organizing Committee of Illegal Immigration. The group also founded some separate

initiatives of its own, specifically the Committee for a Jewish Army of Stateless and Palestinian Jews,

whose goal was the formation of an Allied fighting force of stateless and Palestinian Jews. Some credit

the later formation of the Jewish Brigade, a British unit of Palestinian Jews (which fought alongside

British forces during WWII), with Kook’s activism. Two American members of the Bergson Group were

author and screenwriter Ben Hecht (who as we learn from City of Nets p.359 was in fact “the American

leader” of the Irgun organization itself) and cartoonist Arthur Szyk (a graphic artist/stage designer/book

illustrator whose caricatures of Axis leaders during WWII appeared in newspapers and magazines all

around America would be published in a 1941 A.D. book, The New Order, by G. P. Putnam’s Sons in New

York [the Avon Books division of which would publish Anton LaVey’s The Satanic Bible in 1969 A.D.]).

There were many others who actively supported the ‘Bergson Group,’ for example a number of the best

known people on Broadway and Hollywood (including actor Marlon Brando), probably due to Ben

Hecht’s contacts…In 1947, the Bergson Group had purchased a ship originally intended to carry new

immigrants to Palestine, but, perhaps partially due to (Menachem) Begin’s influence, was eventually

used to ship arms.” – Wikipedia: Hillel Kook. The efforts of the Bergson Group did much to save

countless numbers of Jews from suffering horrid deaths at the hands of the Nazis in German

concentration camps) (Kabalist/artist Gerd Stern, a German Jewish immigrant who arrived in America in

1936 A.D. in the years following Hitler’s rise to power, was involved in these clandestine activities as

well. First settling amongst the Jewish refugee population gathered in Manhattan in New York City,

Gerd Stern fell in with a group of artists and actors centered in Greenwich Village [East Village], where

he would link up with author Michael Fraenkel, a former member of the Parisian magic/literary scene

centered around Henry Miller, Anais Nin [a friend of Church of Satan/OTO-member Kenneth Anger

(Anais Nin, Kenneth Anger, Anton LaVey, Jack Parsons and Kurt Weil are all known attendees of the

Mer group in Paris and at one point in time Arthur Koestler even lived with Cyril Connelly in London—

Cyril Connelly’s friends and associates including of course novelist Henry Miller. Arthur Koestler is

known to have once travelled to Israel in an Intelligence capacity as a British secret agent for a

clandestine meeting with Irgun-leader Menacham Began using the guise of a Times reporter as cover).

As Gerd Stern his self explains in an interview: “Now somewhere during that time in the Village, I met a

group of people who were around a man named Michael Fraenkel, the author of a book called Bastard

Death (the second edition of which includes an Introduction by Henry Miller who resided for a time with

Fraenkel at his home in the Villa Seurat in France during the 1930s). He also had a series of

correspondences which were in several published volumes with Henry Miller (Henry Miller’s Hamlet

Letters, Vol. I & Vol. II). Through that group I met Michael (Fraenkal) and Henry (Miller). That became the

partner/Communist Walter Lowenfels who would in 1953 A.D. be charged by the FBI in a conspiracy to

Of a pertinent note, Stella Adler’s husband Harold Clurman at this time served as literary critic for both

The Nation and The New Republic. Harold Clurman along with Lee Strasberg and Cheryl Crawford were

co-founders of the Group Theatre NY-based theatrical group. Lee Strasberg and Cheryl Crawford would

go on to co-found the Actors Studio. Harold Clurman also ties to the Living Theatre theatrical group with

which [Kenneth Anger’s friend] Keith Richard’s girlfriend Anita Pallenberg was associated)… Then when

the whole political situation in Israel surfaced (Gerd Stern as he explains: “…had been involved with the

individual at the heart of this clandestine operation was U.S. Major General Julius Klein. As we learn

from Dope, Inc., Major General Julius Klein, a Jewish descendent of the House of David (See The

Unbroken Chain by Neil Rosenstein), had played a major role in the covert arming of Jewish militant

groups including Haganah and later post-independence in the supplying of the nascent Jewish state of

Capt. Al Hubbard: “As a high-level OSS officer, the Captain [Al Hubbard] directed an extremely sensitive

II. Prior to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, America retained a neutral status and such gun-running

activities illegally violated America’s neutrality status as codified in the Congressional Neutrality Acts

passed in the 1930s). It would seem Anton LaVey and company was allegedly more than probably less

associated with such illicit gun-running activities which also included direct participation by known ‘mob’

elements who already had had an established smuggling pipeline in place from its illicit alcohol

distribution network developed during the entire judicial and political corrupting Prohibition Era years

(In fact, Al Hubbard himself had: “…worked for the Treasury Department as a young man during the

Capone days, busting moonshiners and gangsters who were smuggling liquor into the US from Canada

Apparently he was able to ingratiate himself with both sides during Prohibition, as he subsequently

notably associated with mobsters Lucky Luciano, Frank Costello, Meyer Lansky [Meyer Lansky is named

Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. A television epsiode of Charlies’ Angels entitled "Angels in Vegas"

guest starring Rat Pack-er Dean Martin would be filmed there in 1978 A.D. as well). (Helping to make

sense of the seemingly bizarre Israel-Ireland partnership is The Zionist Federation of Great Britain and

of the British Israelism movement which roots trace back to the second half of the 19th Century A.D.:

During the 1960s, the CIA and the FBI had formed an alliance with the Mafia (again, this

relationship dated back to World War II if not in fact prior; the Mafia was well ensconced in Florida

[which itself at the time had a sizable dissident Cuban population] and in Havana, Cuba as well;

previously, Fidel Castro had closed down Mafia-run casinos in Cuba following the Communist takeover

of the island) with the expressed intent to assassinate Cuban President Fidel Castro under ‘Operation

the CIA). After many bungled assassination attempts President Kennedy at last had opted for the failed

Bay of Pigs CIA amateur-hour:

brother Bobby Kennedy before she had attained her ‘prestigious’ Church of Satan high-priestess

position. Indeed: “John F. Kennedy had many ‘one-night-stands’ as the world calls them. These were

merely women hustled up by his aides or the secret service or his friends like Frank Sinatra. But Kennedy

also had long term relationships with some of the women he was sexually active with. It is those

“Judith Campbell Exner…was (Frank) Sinatra’s girlfriend who he passed on (to JFK) as a favor.

Judith worked for the Mafia, in particular she worked for Sam Giancana and John Roselli

(Roselli was an associate of the former World War II counter-intelligence officer turned lawyer

Robert Maheu who worked at various times for the FBI, the CIA and as top aide to billionaire

Howard Hughes [the Howard Hughes who owned Hughes Aircraft whose trade secrets the

Aleister Crowley-associated Jack Parsons, a Hughes’ employee, was caught passing on to the

Israelis. JFK’s father Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. was a friend of Howard Hughes.** The mother of

Howard Hughes’ Chicago-born Hollywood director/friend Preston Sturges, namely Mary D’Este

Sturges [Mary D’Este Sturges was a ‘great friend’ of Aleister Crowley’s friend Isadora Duncan.

Isadora Duncan’s publicist was Hollywood screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz (brother of

Hollywood film director/producer Joseph L. Mankiewicz) who would eventually be put in

charge of writer recruitment for the Paramount film studio, and under whose hire was journalist

turned Hollywood screenwriter Ben Hecht (note this connection between Aleister Crowley and

Ben Hecht—Ben Hecht’s friend, fellow Hollywood screenwriter Charles Lederer was a good

friend of newspaper baron William Randolph Hearst who was also a friend of Joseph P.

Kennedy, Sr.). Mankiewicz was well known for his big screen collaborations with film maker

Orson Welles—the two won Academy Awards for their film Citizen Kane], had been one of

Aleister Crowley’s Scarlet Women with whom he had performed sex-magic rituals. Maheu was

a close friend of both John F. Kennedy and of his brother Robert Kennedy)… It is also known

that JFK was in direct contact with Meyer Lansky and Joe Fishetti, two other Mafia chiefs... This

is no surprise because Jack’s (JFKs) father (Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.) had worked with the Mafia

A.D.]. In 1963 A.D., the year of JFK’s assassination, William Campbell would appear in Roger Corman’s The Young Racers and

Dementia 13 [along with the Hammer Film’s associated Northern Irish actor Patrick Magee]. William Campbell achieved cult-

status stardom through guest starring roles on Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek television program beginning in 1967 A.D. [Star

Trek star William Shatner had previously appeared in Roger Corman’s 1962 A.D. film The Intruder]. Add William Campbell

[along with Roger Corman] to the list of ‘usual suspects’) (** John F. Kennedy was at one time an employee of William

Randolph Hearst—he worked for the Hearst newspaper called the: “Chicago American, an afternoon newspaper in Chicago,

father Dr. Sterling Bowen, working his way through college, worked for Chicago mobster Bugs Moran) first sold the Tribune.

President’s link with the Mob. At Kennedy’s request, says Exner, she regularly carried envelopes

sizeable population of German-Jewish writers in exile including Thomas Mann [a former

resident of Sanary-sur-Mer], Lion Feuchtwanger [a former 1930s resident of Sanary-sur-Mer

who relocated to the United States with the help of Varian Fry] and Berthold Brecht [Berthold

Brecht was a resident of Sanary-sur-Mer as well] and was home to the Self-Realization

Fellowship Lake Shrine [located on Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades] founded by

Paramahansa Yogananda in 1950 A.D.)… At 16, attending a Hollywood party with Robert

Wagner (an associate of British MI5 agent/actor Laurence Olivier), Judith met actor William

Campbell (at which time William Campbell was working as a Warner Bros.© actor). They wed

two years later (in 1952 A.D.), and after an unhappy marriage, were divorced in 1958. During

this period she was friendly with a Hollywood set that included Charlton Heston (notably

enough, as a member of the Army Air Force during WWII: “[Charlton] Heston was chosen as a

relating to nuclear weapons, and ‘for six years Heston [held] the nation’s highest security

Charlton Heston would make his Hollywood debut in the Hal B. Wallis produced film, Dark City

in 1950 A.D.), Lloyd Bridges (Bridges starred in Gene Roddenberry-produced episodes of the

T.V. series Sea Hunt [as did Leonard Nimoy who would play Spock in Roddenberry’s Star Trek

series, Bruce Dern and for one episode, Jack Nicholson]. Judith’s ex-husband William Campbell

would appear in a Star Trek episode as well), Debbie Reynolds (another Hollywood musical/Las

Vegas headline performer) and Eddie Fisher (Debbie Reynold’s husband from 1955–1959 A.D.,

the Philadelphia-born Eddie Fisher was likewise a Las Vegas headliner working for Mafia-run

casinos). Supported by funds from her parents and from an inheritance, Exner lived in Beverly

Hills, where she did some painting. She also dined out often at glitzy restaurants… One night in

1959 Exner ran into Frank Sinatra (whom she had met before in Hollywood) at Puccini’s, a

restaurant in Beverly Hills. Several days later Sinatra invited Exner to join him in Hawaii with

his friend Peter Lawford (Frank Sinatra and Peter Lawford were both members of Hollywood’s

Rat Pack—Peter Lawford was President John F. Kennedy’s brother-in-law. Peter Lawford has

even served as a judge on The Gong Show the host of which, Chuck Barris, claims to have been a

CIA hitman. The Gong Show’s creator, Chris Bearde, worked for the William Morris Agency

which likewise represented fellow Rat Pack-er’s Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr.) and the

actor’s wife, Pat Kennedy Lawford (JFK’s sister)… Sinatra later…invited Judith to see his show

in Las Vegas. It was there, on Feb. 7, 1960, at the Sands hotel, that Sinatra introduced Exner to

John (F.) Kennedy, then campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination… The next

day, Jack Kennedy invited Exner to lunch on Sinatra’s patio… For the next month, says Exner,

Kennedy called her almost every day… They arranged to meet at the Plaza in New York on

March 7, the night before the New Hampshire primary. "It was a wonderful night of

lovemaking," says Exner… A week later Sinatra invited Judith to join him in Miami Beach at the

Fontainebleau hotel, where he was appearing. There Frank introduced her to his mobster friends,

Joe Fischetti and Sam Giancana, whom Sinatra called ‘Sam Flood.’ "I didn’t know then that Sam

was the Chicago Godfather," says Exner, "but I did know he was important to Frank because of

the way Sinatra acted around him, bowing and scraping and being so deferential." Once she

knew Giancana and was intimate with Kennedy, Exner was in a perfect position to act as a

liaison. "I feel like I was set up to be the courier," she says now… "I never told anyone else,

because I thought I’d be killed. Look what happened to Jack (JFK was himself assassinated), and

to Sam (Giancana), who was murdered in his house while under (Chicago) police surveillance,"

she says. Exner’s first assignment as courier, she says, was suggested by JFK at dinner in his

Georgetown town-house on April 6, 1960… Jack (JFK) turned to me and said, ‘Could you

quietly arrange a meeting with Sam (Giancana) for me?’… Pleased to be of help, Exner called

Giancana the next morning and said she’d like to talk to him in Chicago…" I told Sam that Jack

(JFK) wanted to meet with him because he needed his help in the campaign (even Frank

Sinatra’s own song High Hopes was employed as an anthem in the Kennedy election campaign

as well). Sam agreed to the meeting, and we set the date for four days later at the Fontainebleau

in Miami Beach. I called Jack (JFK) to tell him, then I flew to Miami because Kennedy wanted

me to be there." Kennedy (JFK) met with Giancana at the Fontainebleau on April 12… That first

meeting between Kennedy and Giancana seems to have been about the West Virginia primary.

FBI wiretaps show large Mafia donations to the state campaign that were apparently disbursed

by Frank Sinatra. This under-the-table money was used to make payoffs to key election officials.

Giancana dispatched Paul "Skinny" D'Amato, who owned the famed 500 Club in Atlantic City,

to the state to use his influence with the sheriffs who gambled in the illegal gaming rooms of

Greenbrier County. These men controlled the state’s political machine, and many of them had

been customers at Skinny’s club. Some still owed Skinny money, and others were more than

happy to do him a favor, which was rewarded from a cash supply of more than $50,000. Their

job was to get the vote out for Kennedy—any way they could. Kennedy won the May 10 primary

easily, with 61 percent of the vote. After Kennedy received the nomination in July, he asked

Exner to arrange several more meetings with Giancana. She assumes that at least one of them, at

the Navarro Hotel in New York in early August, had to do with the general election. "After Jack

was elected," says Exner, "Sam kept saying he would never have been President if it hadn’t been

for his efforts on Kennedy’s behalf in Cook County, Illinois." An overwhelming turnout for

Kennedy in Cook County (where Chicago is located) enabled him to carry Illinois by a slim

8,858 votes. In the early months of his Administration, Kennedy had little time for Exner. During

this period, the presence of a Communist regime in nearby Cuba was becoming a major political

issue. On April 17, 1961, the CIA backed an attempt by Cuban nationalists to oust Castro (this

was an operation which was in fact ordered by Boston Brahmin McGeorge Bundy [his CIA

agent brother, Yale Skull and Bones/CFR-member/Harvard attendee William P. Bundy, an Army

Signal Corp officer during WWII, would serve as State Department*** liason for the Bay of Pigs

invasion] representing a modern rehash of a previously failed Boston Brahmin/Young

America/Carbonari attempt at a takeover of Cuba from some 100 years prior for which intrigue

an ex-General/secessionist leader/sitting American Governor was indicted by the Taylor

presidential administration “…for financing the invasion of Cuba, in violation of laws protecting

the neutrality and peace of the United States…” and for which endeavor they had hired a Spanish

revolutionary [See pp.210-11,220 Treason in America, a must read]. How true the truism that

those who forget history are therefore doomed to repeat it. [***“Beginning in 1939…the Council

(the CFR) achieved much greater prominence within the government and the State Department

when it established the strictly confidential War and Peace Studies (a committee created during

WWII to advise the U.S. government on wartime policy and chaired by Undersecretary of State

National Clandestine Service and head of the CIA’s National Resources Division, what

explains the lack of prosecution for the massive commodities fraud in which this company has

Relations]). The failure of the infamous Bay of Pigs invasion (a CIA operation in which the

Office of Naval Intelligence [ONI] had played a major role) was a major embarrassment for the

(Boston Brahmin-associated) Kennedy Administration. The President told the nation he accepted

sole blame for the Cuban fiasco. A few days after the bungled invasion, Kennedy called Exner in

California and asked her to fly to Las Vegas to pick up an envelope from Roselli, which she was

to deliver to Giancana in Chicago. Once there, she arranged a meeting between the President and

the Mafia boss (this arrangement represented much more than just a CIA/Mafia association,

more to the point it represented a Boston Brahmin/Mafia partnership in the grand old Carbonari

Young America Youth Movement tradition). It took place in her suite at the Ambassador East on

April 28… "Sam arrived first and then Jack… He then went over and shook Sam’s hand. Sam

said hello; he called him Jack, not Mr. President… On April 29, at Kennedy’s request, Exner

flew to Florida, where she had drinks with Giancana and Roselli, who were there for a meeting.

She picked up another envelope from them and returned to Washington on May 4th… For days

and sometimes weeks at a time that spring and summer, Exner crisscrossed the country by train

and plane at her own expense carrying plain 9" by 12" manila envelopes from Kennedy to

Giancana and Roselli and back again… Blindly accepting her role as the President’s personal

messenger, Exner never questioned what she was asked to do. "I thought I was in love with Jack.

He trusted me and I was doing something important for him," she says. "I was 26 years old, and I

didn’t have any great purpose in my life. That’s probably why I became so involved in doing

this, and did it with such gusto. I guess I felt I was doing something important." Not until 1975,

when the Senate committee report came out, did Exner guess at what might have been in the

envelopes. "It finally dawned on me that I was probably helping Jack orchestrate the attempted

assassination of Fidel Castro with the help of the Mafia," she says. Exner speculates that, in

addition to communicating via courier, Kennedy and Giancana talked privately on the phone.

"The White House logs show at least one call from Sam’s home outside Chicago to the White

House," she says. "That was not a call I ever made." Moreover, Exner suspects that Kennedy and

Giancana met at the White House… By early 1962, their relationship had begun to sour… "He

called less and I called less." … By that time, Exner realized she was being followed. In his drive

against organized crime, Attorney General Robert Kennedy had targeted Sam Giancana for top-

priority investigation. (It is not known whether RFK knew of his brother’s dealings with the

crossed). The federal agents following Sam naturally saw Exner in his company. They began

watching her apartment, she says, and followed her when she went shopping. "They hounded me

about Sam, and I was terrified," says Exner. "I called Jack (JFK) immediately to tell him that the

FBI had been to see me, asking all sorts of questions about Sam. I told him I had said I knew

nothing about Sam’s business affairs. Jack reassured me. He said, ‘Don’t worry. They won’t do

anything to you. And don’t worry about Sam (Giancana). You know he works for us.’ He told

me that over and over: ‘Don’t worry. Sam works for us.’ As the FBI surveillance increased,

Exner pressured Kennedy to intervene. "He’d say, ‘Ignore them. It’s just part of Hoover’s

vendetta against me.’ He hated J. Edgar Hoover… On March 22, 1962, Hoover had a luncheon

meeting with Kennedy at the White House to tell him that the FBI’s investigation of the Mafia

had revealed Exner’s ties to Johnny Roselli and Sam Giancana. In addition, Hoover said, Exner

had made calls to the White House and seemed to have a telephone relationship with the

President’s secretary. Not knowing that she had been seeing Giancana and Roselli at the

President’s request, Hoover warned Kennedy of the potential damage to his image if word got

out (Hoover was known to blackmail political opponents, keeping extensive records for this very

purpose)… By the summer of 1962, the relationship was over… During her affair with Kennedy,

when Exner had felt lonely or frustrated, she had often turned to Giancana for friendship and

sympathy. "Sam was one of the nicest, kindest people I knew," she says. "I didn’t know he was a

murderer. I wouldn’t have believed it." Only when she was no longer sleeping with Kennedy,

she says, did she allow herself to drift into an affair with Giancana, who was a widower. The

affair lasted just a few months, during the fall of 1962. "I was never in love with Sam. Our affair

was over when he proposed and I said I didn’t want to marry him." Trying to put the past behind

her, Exner settled down in Beverly Hills. On November 22, 1963, she was at a local hotel

waiting to move into a new house when she learned that Kennedy had been assassinated… the

Senate committee subpoenaed Exner. Of her testimony then, she says, "I lied before to protect

myself. If I’d told the truth, I’d have been killed. I kept my secret out of fear." Exner’s fears

were not unfounded. Senate investigators were ready to call Giancana to testify before the

committee when, on the night of June 19,1975, he was shot seven times in the head in his Oak

Park, Ill., kitchen. The killer was never found. Days later, Roselli testified before the Senate

committee about the CIA attempts on Castro, including Giancana’s role. A year later, Roselli’s

body was found in a 55-gallon oil drum weighted with heavy chains floating in Dumfoundling

d’Autremont, wife of CIA counterintelligence czar James Angleton (Mary Pinchot Meyer, James

Angleton, Cord Meyer, Richard M. Bissell, Jr. and W. Averill Harriman were part of the CIA-

associated group of Washington D.C. journalists, politicians and government officials and their

wives generally known as the Georgetown Set. Georgetown is home to the Harvard University-

administered Dumbarton Oaks estate, site of the Dumbarton Oaks Conference which resulted in

the birth of the United Nations). Mary’s father Amos Pinchot (a member of Yale Skull and

nothing like Homeland (the Department of Homeland Security), however, with operatives

running about with guns in the D.C. suburbs (though its 1960s-era predecessors once spied on

antiwar and civil rights activists and recruited Cuban exiles to harass Fidel Castro). It also

works with the FBI and NSA in bugging foreign diplomatic missions there.” According to the

Of an interesting note, Rosamond Pinchot’s good friend Dorothy Hale would be suicided in the

very same year, having it was ruled, jumped off a New York City building to her death [a fate

she shares with the recently ‘suicided’ JP Morgan Vice President Gabriel Magee], after having

attending a play with J.P. Morgan Jr. and wife and a party at the 21 Club as well** (the year

prior to her death, Dorthy Hale had been involved in a torrid romance with Harry Hopkins, a

WPA administrator who was President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s top adviser). Dorthy Hale (a

former Zeigfeld Girl) and Rosamond Pinchot had in 1935 A.D. appeared together in a play called

Abide with Me, written by Dorothy Hale’s friend, American playwright Clare Boothe Luce

(years later, from 1953 – 1956 A.D. Clara Boothe Luce would serve as Ambassador to Italy, and

as we learn from Wikipedia: “After Fidel Castro led a revolution in Cuba in 1959, Luce and her

serve under fellow Republican presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan). Dorothy Hale, it is

interesting to note, had during the early 1930s carried on an affair with WPA artist Isamu

Noguchi whom she would accompany on his travels to London and Paris. Isamu Noguchi is

famous for his collaborations with Buckminster Fuller. During the 1940s Noguchi would retain

a Greenwich Village studio where he was a member of the Surrealist circle of magic-practicing

automatist artists who resided there and would work as well with John Cage on the Merce

Cunningham Broadway production of The Seasons which premiered in 1947 A.D. at the Ziegfeld

Theater (originally built by Ziegfeld Follies [amongst whose famous performers was Fannie

Brice] producer Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. in 1927 A.D. with money he borrowed from Joseph P.

Waldo Emerson [as well as author Charles Dickens] was known in his own time to have
