RegistRation Rules

If you have not registered to vote, you must do so 30 days before an election. Last date to register for the Primary and Nonpartisan Judicial Election of May 20 is April 20. If you have altered the facts on your voter registration (changed name or address) you must notify the county clerk 30 days before an election.

Methods of registration for Arkan-sas residents who are at least 18 years

of age and a U.S. citizen are: (1) Coun-ty Clerk’s Office in your home county; (2) State Revenue Office; (3) Public Library or Arkansas State Library; (4) Public Assistance Agency; (5) Disabil-ity Agency; (6) Military Recruitment Office; (7) Arkansas National Guard; (8) Any voter registration drive; and (9) Mail-in registration. PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT NO. 1SJR 7 - An amendment to the Arkansas Constitution providing that admin-

istrative rules promulgated by state agencies shall not become effective until reviewed and approved by a legislative committee of the General Assembly.

PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT NO. 2SJR 16 - Proposes an Amendment to Article 5, Section 1, of the Arkansas

Constitution concerning initiative and referendum and providing certain re-quirements for the correction or amendment of insufficient state-wide petitions.

PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT NO. 3HJR 1009 - Amends the Arkansas Constitution concerning elected state of-

ficials; prohibits members of the General Assembly and elected constitutional officers of the executive department from accepting gifts from lobbyists, and defining key terms relating to that prohibition; prohibits members of the Gen-eral Assembly from setting their own salaries and the salaries of elected consti-tutional officers of the executive department, justices, and judges; establishes a seven-member independent citizens commission to set salaries for members of the General Assembly, elected constitutional officers of the executive depart-ment, justices, and judges; establishes the appointment process for members of the independent citizens commission, and prohibits members of the indepen-dent citizens commission from accepting gifts from lobbyists; prohibits certain contributions, including contributions by corporations, to candidates for public office; prohibits a member of the General Assembly from registering as a lobby-ist until two years after the expiration of his or her term; and extends term limits for members of the General Assembly.
