WHY ARCHAEOLOGY?

• Learn how to be a real archaeologist, learning all the skills that are required to be hired for the prestigious job.

• Go dig in the sand and recover real artefacts from the local area of Tivat, which hosts a wide variety of Roman and Illyrian ruins.

• Learn how to use the technology which helps archaeologists analyse ancient remains (its not just shovels and buckets, archaeologists use computers too!)

• Learn how to identify ancient ruins and artefacts so that the next time you go exploring a new country you will know where to look!

• Learn photogrammetry and 3D technology used to recreate ancient objects.

• You will get a full work portfolio of research with pictures and reports, you will also earn a certificate to show to your university or workplace at the end of the program (subject to full curse completion, miss 30% of it and you will not be able to gain the certificate).

WHAT HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE?

• You will learn how to use shovels, measuring equipment, hats and your hands to recover precious artefacts.

• You will learn how to use a camera to take professional pictures to be used for research, draw diagrams and sketches of archaeological areas.

• You will learn how to use photogrammetry software to transform your pictures into 3D models and print them with our latest 3D printer.

• You will learn how to use Blender to reconstruct ancient areas in 3D and recover lost history.

WHAT WILL YOU BE LEARNING?

The basic course lasting 10 weeks will include:

• Week 1 Basics of archaeology, do we dig where the X marks the spot?

• Week 2-3 Archaeological field techniques, travelling to sites and getting your hands dirty

• Week 4-5 Photogrammetry and 3D printing

• Week 6 Drawing sketches and plans of archaeological areas and buildings

• Week 7 Excursion to Kotor to create a report and acquire pictures to reconstruct in 3D

• Week 8-10 Using Blender to reconstruct entire areas

ADVANCED COURSE AFTER WEEK 10 (OPTIONAL)

The advanced course lasting 10 weeks will include:

• Week 11 Identify an area to dig: preliminary research

• Week 12 Surveying the area

• Week 13-14 Organise a dig

• Week 15-16 Professional archaeological digging

• Week 17 Packing and storing

• Week 18-20 Create a full archaeological report to submit to university

WHERE WILL THIS TAKE PLACE?

• You will attend your classes in the new creative area in school, equipped with the latest technology, constantly being updated to give you the best experience for your courses.

• The equipment in this area includes several MAC computers with all the latest software, a 3D rotator to take pictures for photogrammetry and the latest 3D printer for your artefacts.

• You will also go on excursions round the Tivat area and in Kotor to do archaeological work.

The first 10 weeks course will cost 175 euros (paid when

signing up), students can choose to

continue with the follow up for 175

euros after completion of the first 10 weeks (paid when signing up for

the advanced course).
