Rather than looking into the future of science and imagining what it could possibly be like, Archaeoastronomy (aslo spelled as archeoastronomy) is a “study” of how in the past, cultures and civilizations have understood the realms that exist beyond our planet and what role phenomenon occuring in the sky played in their lives.

The reason why one could call it science fiction, is because technologies originating from many civilizations were lost when the civilizations died out.We are still unsure of the internal workings of these technologies and cultures, and delving into a rich study based on assumptions and what we have at present, renders it as science fiction.

According to Newham, “Stonehenge's latitude is unusual in that only at this approximate latitude (within about 50 km) do the lunar and solar events above occur at right angles to one another.”

There are many theories related to archeoastronomy that are trying to solve the mystery that surrounds the construction of Stonehenge. Questions revolving around the change in earth’s magnetic compass to those around the sun and moon calendars in prehistoric times have been asked.

The technology and purpose behind such a structure remains alien to us.
