Ensuring our presence plays an important role in all the
communities where we operate
operated through transparent governance
A dedicated governance structure underpins the stra tegy to drive performance
Making steel more sustainable• Steel is at the heart of the modern world and offers extensive sustainability benefits to
society. That said, we recognise that steelmaking is resource intensive and are taking steps to improve this.
• 2014 Investments– $270m invested in research & development– $207m invested in environmental & energy capital expenditure
• Environmental management: – 98% of our steel production and finishing facilities are certified to ISO 14001– We recycled 31mt of steel in 2014, saving 40mt of CO2
4
Using our expertise in steel to develop more resour ce efficient processes & products
Making steel more sustainable• Tackling climate change
– We are committed to reducing our CO2 per tonne of steel produced by 8% by 2020– We work closely with our customers to support their environmental ambitions e.g. our
S-in motion® uses lightweight steels, to reduce a vehicle’s CO2 emissions by 14%
• Preventing pollution: since 2010 we have reduced dust emissions by 19% and our net water use to 4.2m3 per tonnes of steel.

Vision 2019Four major objectives
10
Zero illness
Rolling mills: 1.5 million tons per year
$150 EBITDA per ton
Wire mills: 200,000 tons per year

Environment• AMM continuously recycles steel in our
furnaces to make new steel.
• AMM is the largest recycler in Quebec.
• Close to 100% of the materials that enter our scrap recycling and processing centres is recycled or reclaimed.
• All of our Canadian facilities will be certified to ISO 14001 by the end of 2015. • Adhering to this voluntary
environmental management standard demonstrates our commitment to minimizing the impact steelmaking has on the environment.
Steel is the most widely recycled material in the w orld
12
Our accomplishments• AMM energy efficiency initiatives yielded considerable environmental and
financial benefits.• A new reheat furnace in Longueuil delivered a 30% reduction in CO2
emissions.• A new electric heating system aboard locomotives cut diesel
consumption.• The expansion of our Contrecouer warehouse reduced the need for
locomotives and yielded a 300 metric ton reduction in GHG emissions.
• AMM joined other partners in a project led by Ducks Unlimited to restore and improve Lavalliere Bay, on the south shore of St. Pierre Lake.• The lake is home to 58 bird species, 27 fish species and 10 reptile and
amphibian species and the bay has been identified as critical, due to its geographic location and its status as a vulnerable wetland.
• The project will restore a permanent wetland within the bay by implementing a system of dikes and a pumping station to control water levels.

ENVIRONMENT –Continuous Improvement
• Water Treatment Plant• CAPEX project to take place in 2015 • System expected to be online by the end of 2015• The system will recycle 80% of process water used in the Facility• 80% reduction in waste water generation• 80% reduction in water consumption • Expected savings of $729K / year
• Global Adjustment Initiative• Partnered with ArcelorMittal Dofasco to reduce the peak electrical demand
during the critical consumption days in the both the summer and winter months.
• Energy Reduction - EMIS (Energy Management Information System)• Project commenced in late 2012• The software system itself is primarily intended for collecting and reporting
energy-related information, but also has analytical capabilities to support energy savings
• Meter installation is in progress with electrical meters online and natural gas / steam meters online by the end of 2015.
• 50% of the funding has been provided through government programs (utilities).
• ISO 14001 Certification by end of 2015.

Steel – The Fabric of Life
The fabric of life
34
Fabric of life - Canada’s ArcelorMittal Dofasco is
supplying steel for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am
Games’ most iconic symbol –the cauldron. The cauldron will be made from ten types of steel including hot roll, Galvalume®, cold-roll enamelling and tubular,
and will weigh around 14 tonnes.
Fabric of life - Thousands of ceramic poppies were planted around the Tower of London, in the UK in November 2014, to
commemorate the centenary of the First World War. For this special event, our Hamburg plant supplied to one of our customers, Barnfather Wire
(Midlands) Ltd wire steel that was used to create the stems of
the flowers.
Fabric of life - The 3.1-mile new Tappan Zee twin span cable-stayed bridge is the
single largest bridge construction project in New
York’s history, and the largest transportation design-build project to date in the United
States. Supported with 160,000 tonnes of
ArcelorMittal steel, it is designed to last 100 years.
35
Fabric of life
Fabric of life - our steel plays an important and irreplaceable role in the modern car, from small parts
like the front bumper to larger, more complex parts like the gear and transmission mechanisms. With
carmakers using our flat products, long products, electrical steels,
tailored blanks and more, it is easy to understand why the name
ArcelorMittal is becoming synonymous with automotive
Fabric of life – our French site, Bourg-en-Bresse, has recently signed a deal with
French leader in energy industry projects and
constructions, Technip, to help develop high-tech, high
resistance flexible pipes which are used on offshore oil rigs to develop deep oil
and gas fields.
Fabric of life - More than US$51bn was invested in
Winter Olympic facilities, roads, rail, and other infrastructure projects to prepare the Black
Sea town of Sochi, Russia, for the Games. One of the major
upgrade projects involved Sochi’s ports, a key part in
transforming the city into an Olympic wonderland, for which
ArcelorMittal supplied more than 9,000 tonnes of steel.
