WELCOME VISITORS!! Thank You For Coming Today!!
Dearest Bell Avenue… Amazing! it’s al-ready the last Sunday in February!!
Time REALLY IS flying by! Before we turn around, school will be out and we will be back in Summer time! I cannot comprehend how very quickly our lives are changing season-to-season… day-to-day… week-to-week… month-to-month… IT’S A WAKE UP CALL that says “Be Ready; Live Right; Serve God!!” I love life and I, like most folks, enjoy the different seasons and special things of each week and month… BUT, there ARE times when I want to scream- “Can We Go A Little Slower, Please!” regardless, here we are! Time does not slow down for anyone and every day it behooves us to be aware and live accordingly! All of us have those days when we are feeling low, down trodden, far less than perfect, and in general, have the Blues. That is part of life! HOWEVER, I want you to know that, if you are a Christian… you are MORE THAN A CONQUEROR!! Paul’s words in Romans 8 are SHOUTING to us that we rise above this old world with its problems, trials, and difficulties!! We truly CONQUER over everything that this earth has to bring us down!! In that Great chapter (Rom. 8) Paul reminds us that NOTHING can separate us from God!! I’m re-minded of another verse from today’s lesson… Jesus’
words: John 16:33--These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have trib-ulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
Sermon Outline
MORE THAN CONQUERORS!! Romans 8:31,32,37
INTRO: According to the Bible, the children of God are a perpetually victorious people. We can’t always see it. We don’t always feel it. We don’t always live like it. It’s true nonetheless. Let’s take a fresh look at this familiar verse. Let me show you the facts that are revealed here that teach us that we are “More Than Conquerors”. 1. THE REALITY OF OUR CONQUEST… “to be com-
pletely victorious; to carry away an overwhelming victo-ry.” That is the clear testimony of the Word of God, 2Cor. 2:14 1Cor. 15:57 Our prayer should also be that God would help us to live out that victory every day, in spite of how things look to us, or how we feel about our circumstances.
2. THE REALM OF OUR CONQUEST… “in all these
things.” The “these things” Paul is referring to can be found in verse 33-35. Let’s take a look at this list …Tribulation –John 16:33 Job 14:1… Distress … Perse-cution … Famine … Nakedness… Peril… Sword. Here is what He is doing: He is Refining Our Lives – 1Pet. 1:7 He is Remaking Our Lives –Rom. 8:29 Eph. 4:13. He is Realigning Our Lives –2Cor. 12:7-11
3. THE REASON FOR OUR CONQUEST… Verses 38-
39 are a commentary on the depth, breadth, height and length of God’s love for His children. Paul knew his share of the trials and torments of life, 2 Cor. 11:23-28. Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians believers, and it is God’s will for us, Eph. 3:16-21.
CONCL: Are you convinced? If you are saved, you are “more than a conqueror”. We don’t always feel like it’s true. We don’t always live like it’s true. But, the Bible as-sures us…
WE OVERWHELMINGLY CONQUER!!
