The sumptuous Taua Hotel-Araxa once again hosted the beautiful Arabian Horse show sponsored by Leandro Aguiar’s Haras Cruzeiro every year.The Araxa Show Judges were Gerard Paty, the host and judge from the U.S. that currently runs the Al Rashediah Stud in Bahrain; and Brazilians Lenita Perroy, breeder of the internationally famous Haras Meia Lua, and Iran Jorge, from Haras dos Faveiros, who bred rarities such as Don El Chall, Power World JQ, and his daughter

Miss El Power JQ. All three judges unanimously praised the beauty of the hotel, the charm of the ring and the quality of the horses. “Although there are only a few animals, they are very good and I really liked the Mare Championship. Wonderful females,” said Gerard Patty. The main highlight of the event was the Marwan Al Shaqab sire line. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren won 10 of the 18 Gold, Silver and Bronze titles in Araxa.

The judges unanimously named Italian Prince Michael MPE the Gold Stallion Champion, after his debut in the Brazilian rings; and Brazilian Sahara Saleemah, who won several awards in shows around the country, was named the Mare Champion. Prince Michael was bred by Antônio Mazzi and currently belongs to José Alves’ Haras JM. He is the son of WN Justice out of Thee Rahiba, a dam famous in Brazil because of her daughters Turchiya MPE and the National Champion Shariba, both owned by Haras Cruzeiro. Champion Sahara Saleemah is one of the current stars in Brazilian rings and a strong competitor for the National title. She was bred by Salim Mattar’s Haras Sahara and is the daughter of American Vaalente by DA Valentino out of Summer Songs by Magnum Psyche.The Stallion Silver was Tales HVP of Haras Vila dos Pinheiros, son of FA El Shawan by Marwan Al Shaqab and Tayra HVP by Don El Chall; and the Stallion Bronze Champion was Ynigma Di Pery JM of Haras JM, son of Perignon by Marwan Al Shaqab and Savanna Van Ryad by Ryad El Jamaal. In the Mare Championship, the highlights were the Silver AJ Kharena (Marwan Al Shaqab x Kharrea PGA by Khadraj NA), bred by HH Sheikha Amna Al Nuaimi, and the Bronze Bretta UB (OFW Magic Wan x HB Bessolea by Besson Carol) both owned by Haras Vila dos Pinheiros. Among the foals, the colt Zarowsky Yllan JM and the filly Premia Arabco were the Gold Champions. Zarowisky is the son of Yllan El Jamaal out of Kaatelyn by Marwan Al Shaqab, owned by José Alves’ Haras JM, and Premia Arabco is owned by Rancho Arabco of Sylvinho Barbosa, daughter of AAS Elishahh out of FT Premia by Lancelot Chall HVP. The other Colt Champions were the Silver Curinga LA (HDB Sihr Ibn Massai x FT Havanna El Keav by Keav Power), owned by Leandro Aguiar’s Haras Cruzeiro, and Bronze Gregor HVP (Gabriel BFA by Eden C x Violetta Rach by Voltaire Rach). The Silver Filly Champion was the National Champion

Carissima LA (HDB Sihr Ibn Massai x MS Magnólia by Marwan Al Shaqab), and the Bronze was Brunet Arabco (PCF Vision by Marwan Al Shaqab x Veronica GA by Versace) of Rancho Arabco. In the Junior Championship, the Jr. Colt Gold Champion was Nasib Sahara, son of Shael Dream Desert out of Sahara Kira by OFW Magic Wan, bred by Salim Mattar’s Haras Sahara. The Jr. Filly Champion, Shakhyra Arabco, is owned by Rancho Arabco of Sylvinho Barbosa. She is the daughter of El Shakhyr by FA El Shawan (out of Tamina PCF by PCF Vision). The Silver Jr. Colt was El Fahir Arabco (El Tino by DA Valentino x Magnetic HVP by Magnum Psyche), and the Bronze went to Aziz Sahara (Vaalente by DA Valentino x Amelia B by Magnum Psyche) from Haras Sahara. The Silver Jr. Filly champion was Amethyst Sirmarwn (Sir Marwan CRF x Cris El Lethyf by Lethyf El Jamaal), from Haras JM, and the Bronze went to Dandara LA (HDB Sihr Ibn Massai x DA Vincis Jewel by DA Vinci FM), owned by Leandro Aguiar’s Haras Cruzeiro. The Delightful dinner at Haras CruzeiroIn addition to a very even competition in the hotel gardens, Leandro Aguiar and his wife Antonieta receive the breeders for an exquisite dinner and present their animals at their centenary farm Engenho, which houses Haras Cruzeiro. Usually the breeders cannot resist the quality and end up making offers for embryos from the precious dams and majestic stallions. Leandro assures that this is one of the best ways to promote the breed and show his selection program: “It is with great pleasure that I welcome people here at the haras. We have a goal in common, which is the Arabian Horse, and everyone likes to share pleasant moments with those that make this breed a part of their lives.”. q
