By Michelle Fe Santiago Arab Times Staff KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: A new- ly-formed umbrella organisation of all Filipino photography groups in Kuwait will be embarking on its first project, a photo shoot for a cause for the benefit of the Kabay- an Cancer Support Group in com- memoration of the Breast Cancer Awareness month this October. The new umbrella organisation named KLIK which stands for Kapisanan ng mga Litratistang Pilipino sa Kuwait is composed of PINDOT- Pinoy Digital Pho- tographers in Kuwait, Lightbend- ers (LB), Maniniyot sa Kuwait (MK), Pinoy Snappers, KOLAB and PIX-Pinoy Imagery Xpres- sionist. “This group has been formed in order to build camaraderie and uni- ty among all the Filipino Photogra- phy Groups and we’re very happy of the warm reception of all the groups,” stated PINDOT President Job Rejante who took the initiative to contact all the other groups. The six groups agreed to orga- nise the first project dubbed “A KLIK of Hope,” a unity photo shoot for the benefit of Filipino cancer patients on Friday, Oct 27, 2017. All Filipino professional and amateur photographers includ- ing hobbyists are invited to take part in the photo shoot. Assembly time will be at 4:00am-4:30am at the McDonald’s in Mahboula and from there, the group will proceed for the Sunrise shoot. The event supported by AAB World and Pinoy Arabia FM will be featuring some models that will include some of the Filipino cancer patients. JACC is one of the fastest inter- national engineering projects that have been made in terms of design and implementation. A team of engineers from the Amiri Diwan, local and interna- tional experts worked day and night for 22 consecutive months to com- plete this architectural building, which was finished in record time. Huge quantities of building ma- terials were used in the construc- tion of the project, including 21 thousand tons of iron and 52 thou- sand square meters of titanium to cover buildings from outside. The center has taken the Flag Square as its podium with a to- tal area of 214,000 square meters, while area of construction reached more than 110,000 square meters. Gardens and green escapes cover- ing more than 120,000 square me- ters with four buildings, a dancing fountain and facilities to serve visi- tors were all put into consideration in the designing stage. The design of the center was in- spired by the distinctive beauty and creativity of the Islamic architec- ture. It includes large areas allow- ing visitors to enjoy the interior of the center and its geometric design of the halls and theaters. Its location on the Arabian Gulf Road, one of the vital roads in Ku- wait, has added a touristic impor- tance to it. According to sources, the reason behind such a reduction is the deci- sions taken by Ministry of Interior and Public Authority for Manpow- er to trim down the number of mar- ginal workers. This can be consid- ered as one of the achievements of the supreme demographic council. The sources stressed that the de- crease in the number of non-Ku- waitis has contributed to decrease in the total population of Kuwait in 2017 including Kuwaitis and non- Kuwaitis such that only 35 percent increase was observed in 2016. Meanwhile, the study revealed that the number of Kuwaiti citizens have been increasing at a range of 30,000 to 32,000 per year with 51 percent of male population and 49 percent female population. The Security and Safety Depart-ment of Kuwait University Sun-day organized an educational and awareness lecture titled “Emer-gency Evacuation Exercises” at the Abdullah Al-Jaber Theater in the Shuwaikh Campus.

The lecture was based on a se-

curity and safety management strat-egy to spread preventive awareness to students and employees. It was aimed at introducing the right proce-dures to be applied and followed in case of fire incidents as well as the proper mechanism for dealing with crises and emergencies.
