Mardi gras ANNUAL AUCTION

On February 11, 2012, Saint Lawrence families and friends were treated to a Mardi Gras Spectacular Celebration at its 8th Annual Auction and Dinner. The community center was transformed into a ballroom fit for King Creole (Principal Dolan) and Queen of Mardi Gras (Principal Filios). Guests arrived dressed for the occasion adorned in feathers, beads and masks. Delicious creole food was plentiful, beer flowed and many enjoyed putting their bets down on a number of professional gambling tables.

Volunteers

A great time was had by all who attended the 2012 Saint Lawrence Academy Tournament at Coyote Creek Golf Course in May. Participants included faculty and staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the community. Saint Lawrence Academy faculty member Michael Seidler called the tournament, “a great opportunity for the entire St. Lawrence community to get together and celebrate all the hard work and accomplishments achieved throughout the school year.” This year’s tournament had 124 golfers and over 150 attended the dinner and silent auction. All money raised for the event went towards renovating the Saint Lawrence weight room.

The introduction of the Luck of St. Lawrence Lottery was received with great support. The Parish raised $13,971; Saint Lawrence Academy raised $10,449 and Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle School raised $14,176. We are thankful to our community for making Luck of St. Lawrence a successful fundraiser in its inaugural year. The Parish selected to direct funds raised from Luck of St. Lawrence towards the operating budget and debt service while Saint Lawrence Academy and Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle Schools earmarked the funds for technology. The new Technology Center at the Academy is the beneficiary of the Luck of St. Lawrence Lottery funds. The Elementary and Middle School purchased technology items to improve curriculum at the different grade levels.
