    TO MAKE THE CARD:

Place the parchment paper onto the template asshown (right) and fix the two together with a littletape. Place on an embossing mat and use the em-bossing tool to emboss the swirls of the outer borderpattern, you should be able to see them clearlyenough through the paper. Emboss the re-alignmentlines at the centre of the long edge. Turn the workover (template on top) and emboss just outside thetwo patterned edges of the template.

Push a needle or pin through the single dot be-tween the alignment lines then carefully remove thetape at the edges of the work. Swivel the templatearound on the pin so it is positioned over the other

half of the paper. Check that the two straight linesat the centre show through the holes nicely and thecorners match, then retape. With the paper upwardsagain, emboss the swirls as before then turn overand emboss just outside the two edges.

Remove the template from the work. Using thecentre alignment dot already pricked through theparchment, measure out a 6cm square in the centre

    VARIATION:

This design also looks very pretty in pink (above).I have changed the stitch pattern of the diamondsand varied the stickers used.

Cut a piece of pale blue Mulberry to 135 x 135mmand fix to the back of the parchment panel using lowtack tape. Tape the template into position on top ofthe work using the embossed border line for align-ment. Place on a pricking mat and prick all the holeson the outer border and the double row of holes just

inside the border, going through both layers of paper.Note: The template has several pattern stitchingsuggestions for the diamond shapes etched onto it,for the straight lines which I chose to use, there isno need to prick the holes that are not used.

Carefully turn the template using a pin through thecentre alignment hole as before, or line up using theembossed border if you prefer. Prick the other half ofthe paper in the same way then remove the templatebut keep the Mulberry and parchment fixed together.

Now work the stitching through both layers in the

following way. Use silver thread to stitch the dia-monds as shown, fixing the ends with a little cleartape on the back of the mulberry paper. Next, workthe silver cross stitches between the border dots.

Use dark blue thread to work back stitches aroundall the diamonds, adding a clear seed bead to eachpoint as you go. Back stitch along the top and bot-tom of the cross stitches in dark blue. Remove thetape then glue this panel to the front of the card.

Place a clear glitter heart sticker in each corner ofthe parchment panel, add one congratulations sticker

over the cross stitches on each side of the square.Place strips of wavy border stickers just inside theparchment aperture and add a silver heart cornerover the top of this border in each corner. Add asingle flower sticker to the centre of each diamond

and then use UHU to stick a mini gemstone in thecentre of each of the spiral patterns.

Stick a heart with doves sticker over the glittervinyl sheet, then cut it out, leave the backing onthe vinyl so it looks white not clear. Cut a 5cm lengthof white thread and stick one end firmly to the backof the heart. Place a double ring sticker onto clearpolyester and cut it out, then stick this to the endof the white thread so that it dangles in front of the

heart. Sticky fix the heart into the centre section ofthe card.

Stick four silver bows to the clear vinyl and cutthem out (leave the backing on as before) then stickyfix to the corners between the stitch lines.

of the work and cut it out. Carefully cut just outsidethe embossed outer line to make the parchment intoa shaped panel, see below.
