worth of damages.

September 11, 2001On the morning of September 11th, four commercial airliners were
hijacked by terrorists. Two of these airliners were crashed into
New York’s Twin Towers, killing almost 3,000 people. Another
was crashed into the Pentagon. The cost of damages was estimated
to be over $30 billion.
2004Hurricane Ivan was a
hurricane that reached the
size of Texas and a category
5 hurricane—the strongest
possible. It is the 10th most
intense Atlantic hurricane
ever recorded, causing over
$13 billion in damages and
killing over 100 people.

2005Hurricane Katrina was one of the most deadliest and the
costliest hurricane ever in American history, being the sixth
strongest overall. It, too, was a category 5 hurricane, leaving
behind over $81 billion in damages. New Orleans, Louisiana
was the most devastatingly affected.

Mabel goes to Tennessee
and meets a Jack Sparrow
impersonator!
Brenda drives down
to Florida with her

The Samoa Earthquake was the largest of 2009, recorded
at a magnitude of 8.1, that took place in the Samoan
Islands located in the South Pacific. It generated a tsunami
that killed almost 200. The U.S. sent air crafts and federal
aid to help those in need.
