We recently had a presentation here at Baughman to discuss how we can begin this wonderful lay ministry in our con-gregation. We will continue to keep you updated on our progress.

Our campaign to bring people to Jesus here at Baughman is going great!
The Membership and Missions Committees have been working together to make the community aware of our presence here in New Cumber-
land, and to let them know what we have to offer them. We have created banners, yard signs, mail inserts and door hangers. We even have an ad
on the first page of the New Cumberland and Lemoyne Life magazine. (see right)
We are hoping that everyone will get involved by placing a yard sign ei-ther in your yard, or somewhere in your area. We continue to strive to
meet the mission statement of the United Methodist church to
Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World!

MARCH 2014 PAGE 9
Each spring, the children of Baughman are invited to participate in a mission project to help oth-ers in the world. During the month of May, we will be collecting items to make Health Kits for Mission Central. Please encourage the children to participate in the purchase of items to fill the kits and begin to donate them starting May 4th.
**YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUY ALL THE ITEMS; BRING WHAT YOU CAN. **
Please see the instructions from Mission Central below!
Please read carefully. Health kits provide basic necessities to people who have been forced to leave their homes because of human conflict or
natural disaster. Health kits are also used as learning tools in personal hygiene, literacy, nutrition, and cooking classes.
All items must be new. Do not wash any of the items as they will be considered used. Please remove all packaging ex-
cept for nail clippers, toothbrush and soap. All emergency kits are carefully planned to make them usable in the greatest
number of situations. Since strict rules often govern product entry into international countries, it is important that kits con-
tain only
the requested items—nothing more. DO NOT include any personal notes or additional materials in the kits.
These things must be painstakingly removed and will delay the shipment.

Children’s Mission Project – May 2014
Thank you! I would like to say Thank You to Mrs.Strickland for the beautiful altar flowers, and to Mrs. Miller for delivering them to our house. My mother really did appreciate them, she loved flowers. Also, thanks to all the people who kept us in thought and prayer. It was greatly appreciated. We will be celebrat-ing her life at her home church on Wednesday with family and many of her life-long friends. Bonnie Wolfe
Thank You! Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers I received several weeks ago. The gift of remembrance is appreciated. Linda Olley
Thank you for the gift of $200 to the General Board of Global Ministries through The Advance. We are pleased to share that 100 per cent of your contri-bution will support the missionary community. May God grant you a sense of hope and joy as you continue your support for mission.
HELP WANTED! There are a few ladies in the church who have
been FAITHFUL at helping when I call for assistance with a funeral luncheon held here at the church. I want to thank them, but I’d al-so like to extend this ministry to anyone else who would avail them-selves to help SET UP & SERVE a luncheon (approx. 2-4 hrs.) or to PROVIDE a donation of a baked good. If you find yourself looking for a way to be involved, consider helping out with this important ministry. It is one way of helping our families get through a difficult time.
