Prayers for the Sick

Almighty and Eternal God, You are the everlasting health of those who believe in You. Hear us for Your sick servants, for whom we pray for good health. Rome Milan, Mariano Junior Torres, Vicky Mori Caram, Stephanie Cordero, Marlene Rincón, Terrell Bridges, Shanna Tanner, and John Grimes.

Reflection for Good Shepherd Sunday Jesus describes his relationship with his followers as similar to the relationship between a good shepherd and his sheep. As a good shepherd will risk and lay down his life in order to protect his sheep, Jesus willingly sacrifices himself for the sake of his sheep. Jesus contrasts the actions of the good shepherd with the actions of the hired shepherd who abandons the sheep in the face of danger. In the verses following Jesus' teaching, we learn that the Pharisees and the other religious leaders understand that Jesus is referring to them when he describes the hired shepherds. The concern of a good shepherd for his sheep is part of the shepherd’s job. Jesus says, however, that the actions of the good shepherd are based upon the relationship that develops between the shepherd and the sheep. This is at the heart of the difference between the good shepherd and the hired shepherd. The good shepherd knows the sheep and therefore acts out of love. For the Good Shepherd, this is never simply part of a job; this love-in-action is integral to his identity. As with so much of John’s Gospel, one hears in this passage John’s particular focus on Christology. As the sheep are known by the Good Shepherd, the Father knows Jesus and Jesus knows the Father. There is an essential unity between the Father and the Son. The freedom with which Jesus acts when he lays down his life is rooted in the unity that he shares with his Father. Jesús describe su relación con sus seguidores como la relación entre un buen pastor y sus ovejas. Un buen pastor arriesgará y pondrá su vida para proteger a sus ovejas, Jesús se sacrifica voluntariamente por el bien de sus ovejas. Updated Liturgical Protocols The Diocese of Fort Worth has updated COVID-19 protocols for parishes effective immediately. All parishes will maintain existing social distancing of three (3) feet between individual or families while opening all pews. Face masks are still required during the duration of Mass or while on church grounds. Sanitation stations will still be available, and the church will be constantly disinfected. La Diócesis de Fort Worth, ha actualizado los protocolos COVID-19 para las parroquias. Efectivo inmediatamente; todas las parroquias mantendrán el distanciamiento social existente de tres (3) pies entre individuos o familias mientras abren todas las bancas. Las máscaras faciales todavía son necesarias durante la duración de la misa o mientras están en los terrenos de la iglesia. St. Thomas Women’s Organization Attention Ladies: St. Thomas Women’s Organization will be having their monthly general meeting on Tuesday, April 27th at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall. We will be practicing social distancing and mask will be required. STWO will be providing the refreshments and drinks.
