Fred JamisonFred started shooting when he was in junior high with the Boy Scouts, in Baltimore where he was born.

After serving in the Air Force, from 1954-1958, he married the love of his life, Dorothy.

He returned to shooting and competing at the Boerne club in Texas, as well as other clubs in the area in 1968 with his wife, Dorothy, and his good friend Ron Henarie.

In 1996, he and his wife started shooting benchrest club matches at the Alamo Schutzen Verein, with another good friend and gunsmith, Terry Vandiver.

With his trusty 52D, he and Dorothy were getting serious about benchrest, and started shooting BR-50 in 1997, at the Alamo, Corpus Christi, Riverside, Cyprus, American, Fort Worth, Grand Pairie, Ennis, Sweetwater, Midland, New Braunfels, and many other clubs in the Texas area. They also shot at Cordele, GA; Lakeland, FL; Springfield, MO; Warrenton, Mo; and Virginia. In around 1998, Macky Locklin and several other shooters started ARA, which Fred began liking more that BR-50.

These days he and his good friend, Javier Trevino, attend the Boerne ARA shoots.

Fred says his greatest accomplishments, other than marry-ing Dorothy, were winning the Australian BR-30 Nationals, New South Wales State Tournament and the ARA Nationals all in the same year, 2000.

Currently he is shooting a Beasley Falcon, stocked by Wayne Young, topped with a Night Force on a Pappas Rest of which he has shot two 2500’s. He also shoots ABRA with his Grandson-In-Law, Ean Smith, in Boerne.

He now spends much of his time being entertained by his great-grand children and family.

Congratulations to Tim Miller, who won the 2018 Indoor A-Line Championship! Tim shot a total of 68 targets during the 2018 Indoor Season which ran from Novem-ber 1, 2017 - March 31, 2018. Tim shot three 2500 targets throughout this indoor season, two at Rocky River Barn and one at Howard Prince. Tim had 2758 points, 13 events, and 2297.0588 Agg which put his A-Line score at 354.3534 and earned him back to back Indoor Season A-Line Championship!

MORRELL & CASEY TIE FOR ARA

INDOOR AGG CHAMPION

For the first time in ARA history, there is an Agg Championship Tie! Chuck Morrell, with 28 targets, and Bill Casey, with 20 targets, both end-ed the ARA Indoor Unlimited season with an aggregate of 2300.0000. With that tie, Chuck can hang on to the Aggregate Champion title he earned in the 2017 Indoor season as well.

KNOW THE RULES!11. Firing Period11.1. A maximum of 20 minutes shall be allowed to complete each 25 shot target for any class.11.2. The command to begin shooting shall be: “You have 20 minutes to complete your firing - Youmay insert your bolts - You may begin NOW!” at which point the Match Director starts the official timer.11.3. Time-remaining warnings should be given at five minutes, two minutes and one minute remaining.11.4. Upon completion of the firing pe-riod, the command shall be, “CEASE FIRE! CEASE FIRE! All competitors remove the bolts from your rifles. Step back from your bench and make the range safe.”11.5. At the discretion of the Match Director, any competitor who flagrant-ly fires after the “Cease Fire” order, shall have a penalty of 100 points deducted from his/her score on that particular target.11.6. Once the Match Director has determined that the range is safe, he may then direct the designated target retriever(s) down range.11.7. Target retrievers shall remove all targets as quickly as possible.11.8. Competitors shall post their targets as quickly as possible

Margie Barron has graciously offered to help with the paint (sorry, but the plan is still secret).
