If you leave the club with a mess, our caretaker will call you and inform you that your range card has been turned off and that the club will require you to per-form range cleanup for one hour to get your range card turned back on. Attention: Range Users Club range rule 2.22 states: Always police the range, any range, and clean up brass and mess after you’re fin-ished. This includes Archery, Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun ranges.

It has come to the attention of the elected officials that we have some members and/or guests that are not cleaning up after themselves when leaving the club ranges. The main vio-lation is large amounts of cartridge cases just left in piles on the ranges. This is causing unnecessary man-hour and maintenance expense It only takes a few minutes to clean up after yourself and deposit the cases in the provided buckets, not in the trash cans. It is your club and your responsi-bility. Violation of club range rule 2.22 will cause a temporary suspension of your range privileges. If our caretaker sees a violation and brings it to your atten-tion and you clean up your mess be-

IN GOD WE TRUST "No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily sub-dued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders." Samuel Adams to James Warren, 1775

The Club Newsletter is Going All-Digital

Club Members: Due to the expense of mailing the newsletter, we will be phasing out dis-tribution of the newsletter via US Mail after the June issue this year. Starting in July of 2017, you will only be able to get a printed version of the newsletter by coming to the club and getting one from the clubhouse foyer. This should be easy for most active members, as you must sign in when you get to the club anyway. If you are not currently receiving the newsletter via email, send your name and email address to:

[email protected] This will assure that you are getting your digital copy of the newsletter each month. If you do not wish to give us your email, you may also download a PDF of the newsletter from the club website at:

www.bcsportsmansclub.com

The money we save on postage will be used to promote the club in other ways. Thank you, Cean Burgeson Newsletter Editor

Trap and Skeet News

CMP Rifle Shoot Schedule for 2017 Now Available

This year’s shoots will now be changed to Sundays and the cost of using the club gun will be $50. The reason for this is the increased price of ammunition. If you figure the cost of 52 rounds of 30-06 ammunition; you will find that you will pay over $50. So, by raising the cost, we are only recovering the cost of ammunition for the club. The cost to shoot bringing your own ammunition and gun will remain at $10. All shoots will start at 8 a.m. on the rifle range.

DNR Southwest Lower Peninsula Fishing Report

St. Joseph: A few boat and pier anglers were out. St. Joseph River: Had good steelhead fishing up near the Berrien Springs Dam. South Haven: Boat anglers were getting a mixed bag of lake trout and coho straight out in 90 feet. Most fish were tak-en near the bottom. The coho were inci-dental catches while targeting lake trout. Steelhead and brown trout were caught by pier anglers fishing tight to the shore-line and not off the end of the pier. Kalamazoo River: Warmer weather brought out more anglers and they were catching steelhead. Gull Lake: Had crappie in 8 to 10 feet. Grand Haven: Windy weather and rough conditions have kept boats off the lake. Grand River at Grand Rapids: Steel-head are present but water levels are low for this time of year. Grand River at Lansing: Smallmouth bass were hitting on minnows and crawl-ers near the North Lansing Dam. Though few and far between, the occasional steel-head was caught at the point where the Grand meets the Red Cedar and near the North Lansing Dam when using spawn and spinners. Muskegon River: Had a decent number of steelhead and there was fairly heavy fishing pressure. The river was low and clear.
