2016 sure started off with a
great celebration at our 1st
Annual Gala. Thank you to
the many folks who donated
to the Ashland Christian
Health Center. The night
was a huge blessing and a
perfect way to usher in 2016
for the Health Center. 150
people attended the Black
Tie and Blue Jeans GALA,
and we are humbled by the
support. We have collected
just over $28,000. As I
reflect on the evening, I
simply rest in the TRUST we
have in Jesus. From the first
days of the Ashland
Christian Health Center
through our present days,
TRUSTING Jesus as our guide
is the only way to fully serve
His people, our neighbors.

care of more than the physi-

the whole person—Body,
mind, and spirit. In order to
continue this practice, we
need and appreciate the
generous support from

Beth primarily provides linkage and referral to community agencies and advocacy to anyone that is referred to her: those with needs that couldn’t quite be met by traditional service agencies or who may be hesitant to attempt to navigate those agencies on their own. She has worked with about 12 ACHC clients getting help with bills,
finding doctors, reviewing current health care insurances, getting inpatient placement for psychiatric or drug & alcohol treatment, supportive counseling, developing coping skills, obtaining birth certificates, housing and more.
There are NO fees for Julie or Beth’s services; please call ACHC for appointment hours.
Our 2015 Santa’s Attic sale was a huge success, and we were able to
raise $2,000 through the sale of Christmas décor of all styles. And yes,
this means we are currently collecting for this year’s November Sale.
We are presently building our team of volunteers for this committee.
If you are interested in any step of the process of the sale, let us know;
we need volunteers to sort, set up, display, SELL, and clean up.

Our friend, Deb Holsinger, is exactly where she wants to be today, with her beloved Savior and Friend, Jesus. She went to be with Him March 24, 2016. We have no sorrow for her. She
would have none of that. But we at ACHC will miss her very much. I will miss her very much. Her life was characterized by the Great Commandment. She loved the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength. And she loved her neighbor as herself. More than herself. And she lived in a very, big, neighborhood. It is hard to fathom how many lives she touched. We saw what she did at ACHC. That was but a small part of it. As word got out that Deb had terminal cancer, people would come to me and tell me how sorry they were to hear that. And then would come a story. How she had been a friend to them in time of need. Or of a young woman who
needed a ride for a medical procedure or place to stay, and she would take them home. She knew that many times that offer would lead to a lot of drama because of the troubled stories of many of those young women. But it was those stories that caused Deb to volunteer to take them in. We talk of healing and hope at ACHC. Deb knew it (now she knows it completely) and she wanted others to know it. Especially those who grew up in homes where it had not been shown. Deb would be embarrassed to hear all of the good things that are being said about her. But she is not here to stop us, so I will go on. And that is OK because with Deb, it was so evident that it was not her but Christ living in her. It was and is about His grace poured out to her and then through her. So how do I tell of what she has meant to ACHC. A list of what she has done, how she has served does not begin to capture it. Even to say that for many years she was The Nurse at ACHC is not enough She faithfully served as charge nurse up to 3 clinics a week until God brought along those who gradually replaced her in the role
of charge nurse. It was in how she embodied what we strive for at ACHC, to love those we serve, not serving so that we can feel good about ourselves. I will miss our chats about how to love people given all the rottenness in our own hearts. Yet, she was fierce and fearless in that love. And those who know her will know what I mean by that. Her only fear was that someone might honor her for the way she served others. Well, I hope she has gotten over that now that she has stepped into the presence of her beloved Savior Jesus and heard these words, "Well done, my faithful servant, daughter, sister, friend.” We agree. She will be missed by those of us left behind. But the changes in our lives because of God showing us His grace, through her will carry on forever. Thank you, Father for our friend Deb. To Him who is able, Roger Snyder Join us to Celebrate Deb’s life on April 16, 2016. Details on back page.
