Pat’s Spring TipsSpring Cleaning Your
Apartment: It’s That Time ofYear Again
To Toss or Not to TossThe first step in spring cleaning
your apartment is to go through all ofyour belongings, almost as if you areplanning on moving. Decide what tokeep, what to sell at a yard sale orwhat to donate to charity. Clothes arethe easiest to go through. The generalrule of thumb is that if you haven’tworn it for at least two seasons, then itis time to get rid of it. As far aseverything else, if it isn’t replaceable(at least in your mind) and you haven’tused it for at least a couple of years, you might want to put it in the “get ridof box.”
To Clean or Not to CleanNow that you have gone through
your apartment and have relocated allthe extra clutter to its new home, it is
time to actually start cleaning. Theeasiest way to keep you organizedand on task is to make a list of all therooms in your home and then list allthe chores that need to be done ineach room. You might find that youdon’t actually have as much to do asyou thought.
It’s Not Just About CleaningSpring cleaning also means
checking on the condition of variousitems found around your apartment. For instance, when was the last timeyou checked the batteries in yoursmoke detectors? How about thecaulk around your tub? Wonderingwhy bugs keep getting in? Maybe yourscreens are in poor condition. Goaround and take a look at all of thesedifferent elements in your apartmentand if you find anything that needsrepairing or replacing, give yourapartment manager a call.
It’s never just a building.
It’s where you plan and where you dream.
It’s where you live and relax.

During the week, try to avoid friedfoods at all costs, especially when it’swarm outside. Eating fried foods andgoing out in the heat is not a goodcombination. Whether you are insideor out, it makes you more tired andsluggish. Keep this in mind as you gothrough your work week.
