A ‘Slick Machine’ - Getting Every Job Done

Stump Grinding - A Business On It’s Own

Dave Kulzer, contractor from Albany, Minnesota is a proud owner of a RAMROD Model 950LKG. Although he uses it for a variety of different tasks, Dave’s main purpose for using the RAMROD is for stump grinding and clean up. As a side business, Dave responds to the demand of people requiring landscaping services. “I visit many yards to provide people with the landscaping needs they require. Since purchasing the RAMROD, my job has gotten a lot easier!” said Dave.

Another benefit Dave likes about his RAMROD is it’s ‘turn-on-a-dime’ feature. “I don’t own a dump trailer for this business… the RAMROD is great because I can scoop up the material and turn it side ways to dump it where it needs to go. This has been very very useful” said Dave.

After cutting down and grinding many materials, Dave has to go back to the job site to clean up... this is where the RAMROD is very helpful for him. “One of the main reasons I purchased this machine is because I was able to step on and off the RAMROD and shovel material into the bucket without having another worker with me” said Dave. “I can get right back on quickly and not have to stop and get out every time I need to move something.”

“I’m really happy with my RAMROD, I tell many fellow landscapers about the amazing quality and several uses it has. I’m looking forward to using it more in the spring.”

Burkhard Weiss, hard working contractor from Manitoba, Canada owns and operates a RAMROD Model 1150 Track for two years now. According to Weiss it was important that he found a piece of machinery that could be used on soft ground. “Our new 480 acre forest (Lollingwood Ranch) is situated on a significant ‘fen-like glacial esker’ at the edge of the CDN shield near Lac du Bonnet MB. The RAMROD track model is great as other units with tires would simply sink into the primordial ooze, especially with the high water table for the last few years” said Weiss.

When Burkhard purchased his RAMROD it came with a grapple bucket which helped Burkhard in the many projects he had on the go. “The grapple bucket has proven to be very effective in handling a variety of jobs from snow removal, trail improvements, loading saw-mill logs in the bush, or onto my saw mill deck. Most of the logs that I mill are Ash & Birch, and these hardwoods are often quite heavy, but this is no problem for the RAMROD machine to handle” said Weiss.

Burkhard is continuing to develop his three quarter section forest and uses his RAMROD on a daily basis for everything from trail blazing, picking up logs, snow plowing, and cleaning up material, which is essential for Burkhard. “I love the versatility and the strength of the machine. When they said it can lift 1150 pounds they meant it! Every job gets done the right way” said Weiss.

During winter conditions it can be hard to work, Burkhard appreciates the safety and the maneuverability of his RAMROD. “I find the machine is well laid out and I like the operator bay of the machine as it creates a safe area for me as the operator. I have used the machine in less than ideal conditions and was glad to be on the machine as opposed to walking behind the machine as with your competitor's offerings. The compact size and maneuverability of the machine allows me to use it in some quite tight spaces. The easy on and off access makes it an excellent unit for one person projects, where heavy lifting is involved” said Weiss.

Having owned his RAMROD now for over a year, Dave is impressed with not only all the features but how it was built. “The machine is so compact and built very well, I am able to take it apart for servicing and get right back out there” said Dave.

RAMROD operators insist are ‘a must’ on their equipment trailer:

RAMROD POST HOLE AUGER FAMILY

THE RAMROD BUCKET FAMILY

RAMROD Equipment offers a variety of regular grade and heavy duty material buckets that can be used for a variety of early moving jobs. Ideal for moving landscape fill, crushed rock, dirt, sand, clay, snow, fertilizer, and dozens of other items, RAMROD offers over fifteen different bucket capacities. Every RAMROD bucket is built with strength and durability to withstand year of heavy duty use.

Whether it is patio and decks, steel pole or wooden post fencing, tree planting, or otherwise, RAMROD has you covered. Powered by your choice of direct high speed drive or high torque planetary driven power heads, RAMROD offers a wonderful assortment of high quality ‘double flight’ augers with a variety of replaceable dirt teeth and points. Standard ‘double flight’ auger widths are available in 6” wide by 48” long, 9” x 48”, 12” x 48”, 18” x 48” and 24” x 48” bits.

For more information on RAMROD’S complete attachment line up visit RAMROD’S website at www.ramrodequip.com.

All RAMROD Powerhead-Auger packages feature a ‘swivel head’ to allow for drilling not only on level surfaces, but also on difficult sloped, uneven terrain. The RAMROD machine’s tilt mechanism also allows the operator to drill more than the 48” auger depth if required. Worried about hitting rock or other buried obstruction? Don’t be. Only RAMROD offers a bidirectional hydraulic auxiliary flow option to spin augers forward or in reverse in the event you need to navigate around any unexpected surprises.

Looking to save your back from tree planting season? Don’t worry. All RAMROD Auger Heads can power your choice of 18” wide x 48” long, 24” x 48”, 30” x 48”, and 36” x 48” cone shaped tapered bits. Saving the environment has never been easier!

Professionals contractors can earn approximately $25 to $50 to drill one post hole. Experienced RAMROD operators report they can drill between 20 to 40 holes in an hour. Let your RAMROD pay for itself in no time at all!

Traditional material buckets are offered with weld on high carbon cutting edges and overall widths of 31”, 36”, 42”, 44”, and special 60” sizes. Six bolt-on toothbars are available to penetrate hard packed soil.

Need a little extra lift?! Only RAMROD offers a special high reach rollover bucket in a 42” wide (5.9 cu ft. capacity) to increase dump height by 7 inches. This comes in handy when loading material in a tall truck box dumpster or other hard to reach areas.

If higher capacity is your objective, RAMROD’S Mulch Buckets come in 13.7 cubic ft. and 18.0 cu ft. to help you transport light bulky materials in fewer trips. Mulch, wood chips, fertilizer, snow and other light materials are ideal for this RAMROD innovation.

The RAMROD 4-in-1 multi purpose bucket is the ideal tool for digging, dozing, dumping, grappling, leveling, and loading. If you can only take one attachment to the job site, this is the one for you. See how contractors world wide are utilizing this amazing little wonder.

It’s been a cold winter throughout North America breaking records for the largest amount of snow fall. Many families continue to brave the cold and plow snow using their RAMROD’S.

Thank you Cheston Tate for submitting photos to RAMROD Equipment and for showing your dedication by plowing snow in –40 Celsius. Now that’s cold!!

Aren’t You Glad Winter is OVER?!

In simple terms, a ‘Self Leveling Lift Arm’ allows the bucket (or attachment) to be raised or lowered while always remaining parallel to the ground. This feature eliminates the constant requirement of feathering the machine controls to keep the bucket (or attachment) in the level position.

1. Safety - Self Leveling all but eliminates the chance of the fully raised load to fall back on the operator.

2. Productivity - With RAMROD Self Leveling feature, the operator will not lose the load while in transport.

3. Performance - The unique RAMROD lift arms allow for a vastly superior bucket tilt feature. The operator can achieve a ‘30 degree rollback angle’ while in transport and a phenomenal ‘85 degree dump angle’ when unloading the materials. This means that the load will fall out of the bucket without the operator having to step off the machine to pry wet or sticky material loose.

Why is this important to you?

Once you try it you’ll see… RAMROD’S Self Leveling Lift Arm System is a step ahead of the rest…
