For the past three years our themes forour weekend getaways have focused onqualities we need in our lives to glorifyGod. From Fearless Joy, CourageousFaith, and Unshakable Peace, we havebuilt a foundation that leads us to thisyear’s focus: Overflowing Hope.
I remember a bumper sticker that said,“Now that I’ve given up hope, I feel muchbetter.” Even as I chuckled at it, I realizedhow dead wrong it was. Without hope weare . . . well, hopeless. Speaking of ourhope in Christ, the Bible says that we havethis hope as an anchor for the soul, firmand secure. Hope is the anchor that keepsus grounded.
For this 30th Weekend Getaway, the focusis on Overflowing Hope—anchoring yoursoul and your life in the blessed hope thatcomes through Jesus Christ alone. This ishope that makes a difference in your dailylife—that overflows even in tough times, even when you can’t see the light at theend of the tunnel. This hope is much morethan wishful thinking; it is firm, secure, and you can build your life on it.
Dámaris Carbaugh is with us again becauseshe’s a favorite. Both in words and music, she will bring joy and straight talk to us,
based on God’s eternal Word. She neverfails to both inspire and challenge us to a deeper relationship with Jesus.
You are going to love Sherry Harney’smessage of hope. She will give you newinsight and encouragement for your prayerlife, and show you how to let your hopeoverflow to others in organic ways.
Rhonda O’Brien will share from her ownlife lessons how to be patient while you’rehoping! You’ll recognize Rhonda from otherparts she has played at our getaways—i.e., skits and line dancing. In addition, she is an experienced and exceptionalBible teacher, overflowing with enthusiasmand wisdom—a rare combination.
Then, of course, the Butler Band is onceagain with us. Charles and Donna will bringtheir special music, along with some othermembers of their excellent musical family.
You get to experience all of this in a lovelysetting, with diverse and friendly women, great food, and lots of fun! Your take-awaywill be a renewal of your faith, a rechargingof your spiritual battery, a respite from your regular hectic schedule, and a newcommitment to overflow with the hope you have in Christ.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as youtrust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by thepower of the Holy Spirit.”—ROMANS 15:13
