Easter Sunday
“He is not here.” What great words at the empty tomb.
God is telling us to not give too much attention to where
He is not to be found! What a great guide in our spiritual
life. Sin and death and their fruit are not to be our main
focus in life—because God is not there!! We focused on tepid-
ity during the main weeks of Lent to see if we are guilty of
being lukewarm in the faith. And now the world has been
shut down in a sense to help us make more time for God. It
is as if our coach Jesus wants our undivided attention in
training us for eternal life. The point of Lent however was not
to just dwell on our obstacles to the love of God, but to see if
we have any spiritual sickness in order to go to the doctor
Jesus and get better. The focus is Christ and always is. We
want to fix our eyes on Christ and crowd out the distractions
in life. When we pay too much attention to evil, to sin and its
ugly consequences—we feed the bad and starve the good.
Consequently evil will grow like weeds and choke us. So with
the Holy Spirit we looked at how to fight tepidity (see the bul-
letins during Lent) in order to grow the fire of God’s love in us.
Our focus on the Resurrection, now and for the Easter season
of 50 days until Pentecost, will grow the Spirit of Jesus more
in us and in our world. Making more acts of faith, hope and
love in Jesus crucified and risen during these next weeks will
help us to grow these virtues in order to follow the Lord more
closely and tell the world the good news. All our answers to
our problems are found in Jesus Christ who rose from the
dead like he said he would. Don’t look for him in the empty
tomb brothers and sisters, in the places of death, in the bag-
gage we carry from things unforgiven, bitterness to anyone or
fear for the future. Rather let us look to Jesus alive on the
altar, in the confessional, in your vocation and in the person
in front of you. Cling to JESUS, crucified and risen, and he will
set you free. Happy Easter and God bless your family and
loved ones.

"Él no está aquí." Qué grandes palabras en la tumba
vacía. ¡Dios nos dice que no prestemos demasiada
atención a donde no se lo puede encontrar! Qué gran
guía en nuestra vida espiritual. ¡El pecado, la muerte y
sus frutos no deben ser nuestro objetivo principal en la vida,
porque Dios no está allí! Nos enfocamos en la tibieza duran-
te las principales semanas de Cuaresma para ver si somos
culpables de ser tibios en la fe. Y ahora el mundo se ha ce-
rrado en cierto sentido para ayudarnos a hacer más tiempo
para Dios. Es como si nuestro entrenador Jesús quisiera toda
nuestra atención en entrenarnos para la vida eterna. Sin em-
bargo, el objetivo de la Cuaresma no era solo detenernos en
nuestros obstáculos al amor de Dios, sino ver si tenemos
alguna enfermedad espiritual para poder ir al médico Jesús y
mejorar. El enfoque es Cristo y siempre lo es. Queremos po-
ner nuestros ojos en Cristo y desplazar las distracciones en
la vida. Cuando prestamos demasiada atención al mal, al
pecado y sus feas consecuencias, alimentamos a los malos y
matamos de hambre a los buenos. En consecuencia, el mal
crecerá como hierbajos y nos ahogará. Entonces, con el Espí-
ritu Santo, vimos cómo combatir la tibieza (ver los boletines
durante la Cuaresma) para hacer crecer el fuego del amor de
Dios en nosotros. Nuestro enfoque en la Resurrección, ahora
y durante la temporada de Pascua de 50 días hasta Pente-
costés, hará que el Espíritu de Jesús crezca más en nosotros
y en nuestro mundo. Hacer más actos de fe, esperanza y
amor en Jesús crucificado y resucitado durante las próximas

nuevas. Todas nuestras respuestas a nuestros problemas se
encuentran en Jesucristo, quien resucitó de entre los muer-

hermanos y hermanas, en los lugares de muerte, en el equi-
paje que llevamos de cosas que no se nos perdonan, la
amargura a nadie o el miedo por el futuro. Más bien, veamos
a Jesús vivo en el altar, en el confesionario, en tu vocación y
en la persona que tienes delante. Aférrate a JESÚS, crucifica-
do y resucitado, y él te liberará. Feliz Pascua y que Dios ben-
diga a su familia y seres queridos.

Ven a Cristo
La vida es quizás el mayor regalo de Dios para cada
uno de nosotros. Sin la vida, no podríamos experi-
mentar todas las maravillas de este mundo, el amor
de la familia y los amigos, y el gozo que proviene de
usar nuestros talentos y habilidades. La vida misma
es un regalo más profundo de lo que realmente po-
demos contemplar. En la Pascua, celebramos la
vida. Porque en este día, Jesucristo conquistó la
muerte y nos dio la oportunidad de una vida eterna.
La maravilla, el amor y el gozo de este mundo no
tiene que terminar. A través de una vida en Jesu-
cristo, estas emociones se intensifican, y encon-
tramos un cumplimiento aún mayor en este mundo.
Tal vez esta Pascua te encuentres abierto a dar el
siguiente paso en tu relación con Jesús. Este podría
ser el momento en que decidas seguirlo más de
cerca y tomar en serio todo lo que él te ha dado. Si
es así, bienvenido a esta travesía, donde hay
muchos otros discípulos en este mismo trayecto que
pueden ayudar a mostrarte el camino y compartir
sus historias. Si no es así, esperemos que no tomes
todo un año para que esta posibilidad sea consid-
erada nuevamente. Jesús está vivo y esperando
acercarse más a ti. Que esta temporada de Pascua
los encuentre a ti y a Nuestro Señor conociéndose
de una manera completamente nueva. ¡Felices Pas-

Come to Christ
Life is perhaps God’s greatest gift to each of us.
Without life, we would be unable to experience all
the wonder of this world, the love of family and
friends, and the joy that comes from using our tal-
ents and skills. Life itself is more profound a gift
than we can even truly contemplate.
On Easter, we celebrate life. For on this day, Jesus
Christ conquered death and gave to us the chance
for a life eternal. The wonder, love, and joy of this
world does not have to end. Through a life in Jesus
Christ, these emotions are heightened, and we find
even greater fulfillment in this world.
Maybe this Easter you are finding yourself open to
taking a next step in your relationship with Jesus.
This could be the moment you decide to follow Him
more closely and take seriously all that he has given
you. If so, welcome to the journey, where there are
many other disciples on that same path who can
help show you the way and share their stories. If not,
hopefully it doesn’t take a whole year for this possi-
bility to be considered again. Jesus is alive and wait-
ing to get closer to you. May this Easter season find
you and Our Lord getting to know one another in a
whole new way. Happy Easter!
