Impressionist France explores resonances between landscape and national identity as reflected in paintings and photographs from 1850 through 1880. Washington University’s Tyson Research Center is a 2,000-acre field station and outdoor laboratory. Located 20 miles from the Danforth Campus, the center provides a living landscape for environmental research and education. Join us for a short presentation and a private guided tour of the Living Learning Center and Tyson’s natural ecosystems and experimental venues, including: herbaceous communities in experimentally restored Dolomite glades, a large prairie restoration, the longest-running temperate forest dynamics plot, and experimental wetland studies. Washington University is recognized as the third largest holder of Thomas Jefferson’s books. Hear from University Libraries’ Special Collections staff how more than 80 books from our third president’s library made their way to the University in 1880.  Volumes from the Jefferson collection and his granddaughter’s library will be on display on the main level of John M. fAmILy PROgRAmmINg SESSIONS Family Programming is designed to allow alumni to enjoy their weekend while knowing that their children will be entertained and cared for by Washington University staff, current students, and professional nannies from TLC for Kids. Family Programming is divided into three recommended tracks to ensure age appropriate and engaging activities for all participants.

Wash U Legacies Ages 12-18Older children will explore many facets of campus life at Wash U. Current undergraduate students will lead a variety of tours on campus, including a visit to Harvey Media Center to see the WUTV and KWUR Stations.

Bear Club Ages 3-12Children will participate in engaging activities that are both exciting and educational. Activities include arts & crafts and a Mad Scientist presentation. Children will also enjoy a magic show and decorating a T-shirt.

Baby Bears Ages 3 & UnderChild care is available for infants and toddlers during both Family Programming Sessions. Care and age-appropriate activities will be provided by staff from TLC, and supervised by Washington University staff. Parents will need to provide any necessary supplies.

Will I receive a confirmation? In early April, we’ll send you a confirmation email detailing the events for which you have registered.

How do I make changes to my reservation? Please call 800.867.2586 if you need to change your reservation or are no longer able to attend. We ask that all cancellations are made by April 1.

May I bring my family? Yes! In addition to many family-friendly events offered, extensive family programming is available for children of all ages (see pages 7–8 for details). Parents can also arrange for private child care through TLC, a licensed and bonded temporary child care service, by calling 314.725.5660 or visiting www.tlcforkids.com.

What transportation options are available? Special event shuttles will be provided for all off-campus tours, except for the Cardinals game.

Complimentary class party shuttles are provided from Reunion hotel blocks to all Class Parties on Saturday night.
