EUROPE 2020 - Through the publication of the
document "Lisbon-Europe 2020“ (see image on the left), Lisbon City Council is committed to contributing to the achievement of the objectives of the EU 2020 strategy supporting the integrated implementation of projects in various domains, including entrepreneurship.

CONVENANT OF MAYORS – Lisbon has signed the
Convenant of Mayors which is the mainstream European movement involving local and regional authorities in the fight against climate change. It is based on a voluntary commitment by signatories to meet and exceed the EU 20% CO2 reduction objective through increased energy efficiency and development of renewable energy sources. On behalf the Convenant of Mayors, Lisbon submitted the revision of the Action Plan for Energy Sustainability

The vital steps have been:
• spaces for incubation and testing of new
concepts (like StartUp Lisboa and Fab Lab
Lisboa);
• financial instruments giving support to the
entrepreneurs;
• entrepreneur programs in schools;
• networking between the different
partnerships and spaces, like the Network of
incubators of Lisbon, and the Week of
entrepreneurship;
• promotion SME internationalisation;
• promotion and support of important
international events in Lisbon.

Startup Lisboa - http://startuplisboa.com .
Startup Lisboa it´s an incubator developed by the Lisbon Municipality and two additional founding partners: the bank Montepio Geral and IAPMEI (the national agency that supports SMEs).
Results: • Applications – 2.000;
• Supported the creation of 200 companies (40 have already left the incubator and 25 have international offices);
• Created jobs – about 700; • More than 5 million Euros raised; • Access to a network of 100
mentors;
• 50 business partners, partnerships in 23 international markets;
• 30% are international entrepreneurs; • 20 national and international awards
Startup Lisboa includes 3 poles (2 Startup Lisboa Tech and Startup Lisboa Commerce) and Startup Lisboa Residence for entrepreneus
FAB LAB Lisboa was opened July 2013 in the Municipal Market “Forno do
Tijolo”, providing a new rapid prototyping lab serving businesses and giving to the city another important tool for entrepreneuship and innovation. Founding Partners of the project
include Lisbon City Council, Iberomoldes CENTIMFE, Ydreams, Corticeira Amorim and AIP-CCI. Fab Lab is opened and free for the community every 2 days of the week. FAB LAB NUMBERS

The project Lisboa Empreende – Microentrepreneurship - aims to meet the
needs of entrepreneurs who want to develop small businesses and have
difficulties in access to finance.
This project is directed primarily to boost businesses in the commerce and
services sectors whose location is in the city of Lisbon, and aims to establish
itself as a response to traditional labor market through self-employment..
Results:

+ Implemented projects: 70

YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME OF LISBON
The purpose of this programme is to inspire and
prepare children and young people in Lisbon to
win and succeed in a global economy through
education and awareness in the areas of
citizenship and ethics, career development,
entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
The project was born from a partnership created
in 2011 between Lisbon City Council and Junior
Achievement Portugal.

LISBOA European Entrepreneurial City 2015 Lisbon received on June 25, 2014, the distinction of Entrepreneurial 2015 European City (EER2015), which rewards the best regional strategies for the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation among small and medium-sized enterprises. The European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) is a project which identifies and reward EU regions that reveal an extraordinarily entrepreneurial and innovative political strategy, regardless of their size, wealth and competences. Lisbon has stepped up, in particular, its status as a ‘startup city’ through a set of initiatives such as the Startup Lisboa founded in 2012 and integrated in an urban rehabilitation project in the downtown of the City, the business incubator network; the Lisbon Youth Entrepreneurship program, which provides education and training to young people in areas such as citizenship and ethics, career development, entrepreneurship and financial literacy; Fab Lab Lisboa; Lisboa Empreende , the Lisbon Challenge, etc …

STARTUP LISBOA - It's much more than desks, chairs and 4 walls it's an incubator that promotes contacts with partners and potential customers. It is undoubtedly the epicenter of the new technological entrepreneurship ecosystem (and other) in Portugal. It’s an international acceleration program aimed at eager startups in the growth phase. The Lisbon Challenge is based in Lisbon with Investors Days in Boston, London and São Paulo. Startups from any sector can apply. The approach is based on the selection of startups that will receive top mentoring and support to develop and improve not only their product, but also their skills to succeed as entrepreneurs.
Lisbon Challenge in a nutshell: • 3 months of acceleration in an international
environment • 1000+ workshops & mentoring for product-market fit • Network of 200+ international mentors and access to

Is Lisbon’s investment promotion agency and it’s a partnership between Lisbon’s City Council and the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support from AICEP, (the national economic promotion agency). Works with the International Confederation of Portuguese Business (PFIC) an associative structure, utility, non-profit whose mission is to support the internationalization of Portuguese companies and attracting foreign direct investment in Portugal, through a action which is based mainly on two pillars: - Portuguese Chambers of Commerce abroad; - Advisors Network for Internationalisation.

www.iapmei.pt Agency for Innovation and Competitiveness. It's mission is to promote competitiveness and business growth, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and investment in SME's. In a partnership with AICEP - Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal, founded in 2007 and awarded by the European Commission for Good Practices in internationalization processes through the following strategy: - Paves the way for companies to foreign markets; - Identifying new markets and business; - Provides support to facilitate the globalization of business; - Creation of Export Shops.

EXPORT SHOPS: The Export Shops - are a proximity service, which aims to encourage SMEs with export intentions to start its internationalization process or to expand its activity in foreign markets. Available regionally in IAPMEI partnership with AICEP, the Export Shops technically support SMEs in their international markets approach, helping them to develop strategies and in contact with local partners, a network of 14 points covering the entire country. What services offer: > Support in the formulation of strategies to address the international markets; > Information on markets; > Search assistance and contact with local partners; > Information on financial instruments to support internationalization; > Promotion of business opportunities.
